Tzin Wine & Tapas Ratings and Reviews
I've been to Tzin more than a couple of times now and every time that I've went for dinner there the service and food were absolutely amazing. If you end up choosing Tzin you can guarantee that you will be taken care of by your amazing servers and that the food that you order will always come out looking perfect and tasting incredible. They are also well known for their wine expertise and selection. I have not had a bad glass/bottle of wine from there. They can pair wine with your food or give you suggestions based off of what you like. Tzin maybe be my favourite restaurant just because of how relaxing and unique they make your experience. It is a small venue so you have to make reservations or call ahead if you want to sit up at the bar for a drink and a small bite.
I've recommended this place to many friends and family members, and the ones that have gone all say the same thing. It was time for me to finally make a public review to hopefully showcase to many others just how amazing and unique this place is. It truly is a hidden gem in Edmonton.
We had a great time at Tzin. The food was fabulous and the wine selections were wonderful. Both our waiters were charming, knowledgeable and considerate. The atmosphere was warm, comfortable and inviting. I would go again anytime. Just make sure to reserve your spot - it’s a popular place, and with good reason. 🍷
Amazing as always! We were celebrating a late Valentine’s date and the service, food and wine were fabulous. Suggestions on food and wine were suggested and we were so thankful for the suggestions because they were are favourites of the evening. We will be back again!
We simply love Tzin! We have been there a half a dozen times in the past year and they never disappoint. We love the cozy and charming atmosphere. While you can't go wrong with ordering of the menu we prefer the "feed me option" - I highly recommend you do this. The variety is fantastic and every plate is beautifully prepared and presented. We have liked every single plate they put in front of us, and I am sure you will to. Oh, leave the wine pairing to them as well...Come to think of it, if you want a great evening out with a love one or friends, leave everything to them while you focus on what is important - the people you came with. We will be back again and again and...
As a vegetarian there are not many options.. But we had the salad.. Falafel.. And potatoes and they were wonderful.. And a lovely gingerbread dessert.. ultimately the wine list and the service are the best.. It was a birthday for me and I enjoyed everything
I love the intimate setting, the service was second to none. The food was pretty good, very small portions which was ok however the prices were unrealistic. The duck meatballs in the paella were very dry.... however the wine was out of this world. I'll go back when I'm richer.....
Tzin is one of those small, amazing places you don't want to tell people about in case it gets busier and you find yourself unable to get a table. Despite this, it would be a crime to keep it a secret. The servers are remarkably good at putting you at your ease, outgoing in their address and conversation, and delightfully friendly. The food, tapas and perfect for sharing though you'll be hesitant to let anyone's fork but your own dip into it, is excellently cooked, and one can scarce believe it prepared in the tiny kitchen at the front of the restaurant.
The wine list is not pretentious or insistent upon itself, and considering the venue is priced fairly reasonably. I would hazard that the bottles are a better option than individual glasses, but of course order to your own taste. The servers are well-versed in wine, and easily engaged in conversation about the list and the potential pairings for food. They made an excellent recommendation for us, and allowed us to taste it prior to ordering.
Overall, Tzin quickly endeared itself as a comfortable - if small - venue, with excellent food and spectacular service. It became a personal favourite overnight, and one we will absolutely return to in the future.
Pro-tip: Always order the bacon, and always make sure it's the larger of the two options.
From the moment we arrived we were well taken care of! We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, beautiful food and wonderful service!
Glenn and his lovely wife are personable and attentive to every detail, providing a wonderful dining experience!
Not sure how I had never been before, but I look forward to the next time!
The service was outstanding - informative and charming without being intrusive. The food was excellent. We asked for them to choose our dishes - not easy given all our dietary restrictions. The dishes were interesting and all delicious - something for everyone in each round.
It was a business/fun dinner and the ambiance was perfect with just the right level of noise. All of our group agreed it was the perfect choice.
The best wine bar in town, with proprietors who take pride in their wine and are passionate to share it with you openly and unpretentiously. I just ask for a wine by describing what I want, and I've never been disappointed. If you're a lover of wine, this is a spot for you!
We went to Tzin for a girls night out and we were all super impressed! It’s such a cozy vibrant atmosphere. We were surprised at how small the restaurant was but feel it definitely contributed to our great experience as lots of personal attention was given to every table to make everyone’s experience unique. The owner was very welcoming and helped us choose fantastic wines that weren’t even on the list! We did the “Feed Me” tasting menu and had about 6 difference tapas dishes which were all super flavourful and had stunning presentation. We even had to order one additional plate because it was too good to only have once! The price for the quality and portion size was very reasonable. We highly enjoyed our dining experience and would recommend it to anyone who likes to step out of the norm and experience some authentic savoury tastes, great wine and amazing service!
Greeted warmly, seated promptly. Staff was very knowledgeable, made great suggestions. We chose the last item at the bottom of the menu called “feed me" which is they bring out dishes to share that are on and off the regular menu-kitchen’s choice. Wow-every dish delicious & well presented. Not knowing what was coming was also so much fun!
