Very good food. Fried eggplant appetizer with labneh was small but delicious. Crispy lamb shank was perfectly cooked, tender, moist and delicious, in a very unusual red sauce. The chocolate dessert was a perfect ending. Service was not particularly friendly, but adequate. The room could use some work, but it was ok, except that the tables are quite tightly packed together. Prices most definitely on the high side.

Txikito is a great place for a date, dinner with a friend, or sharing tapas with a small group. Amazing range of Basque items on the menu (don't miss the squid ribbons!), including some of the best boquerones in New York. Excellent cocktail menu, with Basque variations on classic drinks, and a solid wine list. Everyone who served us was delightful, fun and knowledgeable, and our server recommended several dishes we would have missed otherwise. Don't miss this place!

Food, price and even the service from the waiter was good. However, I had a 50% discount from Time Out table for 2 that the manager didn't let me use because it was for 2 and we were 3. The thing is we didn't order appetizers, or additional plates, just 3 entries. He could do a lot of things to allows us use the card: separate checks (1 plate in 1 check and the other 2 in a different check), just apply the discount to 2 of the 3 plates we ordered, or even apply the discount to the 3 plates. The check, just food, was not more then $70.00. I just think it is a mistake in city that offers you thousands of options for dinner, not to do everything in your power to make your customer happy... looking for a good review or having him back.
