Fabulous food great friendly service
Quiet cozy beautiful scenery atmosphere top notch
Great piano player
Price reasonable for food w this atmosphere
Excellent food and service. Definitely coming back!
Came to spear street the day after the big snow storm, they were packed! Defiantly a longer wait then usual but well worth it. Service very attentive and apologetic for little kitchen delay, which to me was okay as I was enjoying a nice cozy booth table enjoying the beautiful view. Food was cooked to perfection, and presented perfectly. Unfortunately no room for dessert but will for sure be back soon.
Took over 2 hours for our food to come out.
4 dinners dry and over cooked, one lamb chop dinner ordered med well was rare and bloody. Very disappointing considering entrees cost $30+ each and it is fine dining.
my party of 5 sorely upset with this dinner.
We had a 7:30 dinner reservation and weren’t seated until after 8:30. When my husband inquired about the delay, he was met with some snarky retort. Our order was taken promptly and our appetizers delivered to the table in a reasonable period of time, but then we waited over 45 minutes for our entrees to arrive. The food was fine, but not worth the hassle.
The service was good, the place is nice looking. Unfortunately one appetizer and one entree were not so good. The clams oreganata were dry and had a really strong lemon taste, but they were ok. The duck was good, but not great. The real problem was that the scallops were salty, chewy and clearly not fresh. They did take them off the bill, but they really shouldn't have been served. The arancini were very good.
Other than another couple, We were the only guests in the restaurant so we had the attention of the server, which guaranteed us a delightful evening.
Excellent and accommodating service. Excellent food. Very nice people. Go! :)
Valentine's Day dinner experiences frequently fall short and can be disappointing. This restaurant was far from it. The ambiance was great. The service was stellar. It was obvious that the staff was not only friendly and attentive, they had also been well trained in finer dining service. The restaurant had a special fixed menu for the night along with champagne toast. Despite being fixed, it contained enough variety to satisfy most anyone and everything my wife and I ate was excellent. It was a little pricey for the special event but I would not hesitate to return next year. I have no doubt that it will also be a regular dining location for us on any night out.
We were a party of 6 celebrating a birthday, and we could not have had a more enjoyable experience! From the appetizers to the deserts every bite was delicious. The lobster rolls, crab cakes and salads were tasty starters and the steak, filet of sole special, as well as the stuffed chicken dishes were true standouts! The service was impeccable!! I highly recommend 2 Spear Street anytime you want to feel special!
I took my wife for her birthday! I requested a "cozy table by a fireplace, or with a view, that we may sit side-by-side". There was no fireplace, but we had the best seats in the house! Chase and Paul were highly attentive, but didn't hover (very important). The prices are very reasonable. The food and drinks were excellent! My wife recommends the duck. We had a great evening and plan to return once it gets warm, so we may enjoy the breeze as we enjoy the food, and each other.
All good. They couldn’t have been nicer. Good food to boot
Always one of our favorite restaurants in Rockland County!
Great meal - most notably the lobster bisque (chunks of lobster), the salmon special (ginger teriyaki sauce) and the delicious tiramisu. Excellent service from Paul and Chase once again. Another enjoyable night at Two Spear Street.
Outstanding service, extremely good food, perfect experience, as always.
Eating out about 3-4 times a week, this is one of the BEST restaurant....
Good food. Excellent personal service. Will return there again.
Fantastic meal with great service. Highly recommend.
Excellent service, food and ambiance. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a relaxing meal with someone special
Our dinner was just okay. I had ordered the ratatouille which lacked flavor and the vegetables were very hard. My main course was the Chilean Sea Base. While the fish was fresh, it was smothered in a tomatoe and caper paste that over powered the fish. The root vegetables that were served with it were still very hard and tasteless. I left them. The flourless chocolate cake was just okay as well. The others in my party had salads to start. One had the filet and left behind his mashed potatoes saying they lacked flavor. My other friend had the salmon and only ate half of it. We won’t be back.
Great food, great service, great setting by the water. Can't wait to go back!
I have been to Two Spear Street several times and have had nothing but great experiences here. The food has been excellent and you cannot beat the view. We sat outside and had a view of the water and the Tappan Zee Bridge. It was beautiful! The sangria is delicious there! The staff is very accommodating and attentive. I will be visiting this restaurant whenever I'm in town and have the opportunity to do so! Highly Recommend!
Excellent and very relaxed.
Waterfront dining with a flair. Great menu and a lot of fish choices. Service was very good but we were seated far from the center so we didn't see the staff a lot. Very enjoyable for a special occasion.
Very nice cozy corner table.
Cant say enough about 2 Spear Street, good food, easy, calm and elegant restaurant.
I have been several times and enjoyed every visit; will surely be there again.
Five of us dined on a Wednesday night, celebrating my mother's 93rd birthday. We had a 6:30 res. This was our first visit. The food is quite good, classic culinary techniques. Grouper over scented rice with a butter-lemon-wine-caper sauce was fresh and not over-sauced. Cowboy cut pork chop was just a tad dry on the inside but not so much as to render it tough. The dark cherry sauce was tart and not overly sweet and applied judiciously. Rack of lamb was gorgeous...what looked like two baby racks interlaced for the presentation. A perfect medium with fingerling potatoes and fresh, unadorned string beans, same as the pork chop. Seafood cioppino was fresh, the broth was tomatoey and garlicky and just a little spicey. A wonderful dessert of warm gooey chocolate chip cookies surrounding vanilla ice cream was served in a mini-cast iron skillet.
Service was perfectly attentive. The wine list is a little thin but not hard to find something decent.
My only concern: The room was empty, from beginning to end of our meal. The restaurant is on the water with wonderful views, but very much out of the way, not easy to find or intuitively accessible from any of Nyack's more busy streets, and it was a miserable, rainy, Wednesday night. One other oddity is that when I looked up the directions on Google maps, the photo that came up was of a nearby driveway of an unkempt house stacked its garbage cans. I knew that wasn't it because I had seen photos of the front of the restaurant, but that could be an issue for anyone just typing in the name for directions as opposed to visiting their website. Maybe more advertising would do the trick, I'm not sure. I suppose enough factors combined on that night to make us their only guests. With all the positives about Two Spear Street, being the lone party of the night had us scratching our heads...you can't help but wonder why.
Nice spot with a view of the Tappanzee Bridge. Quite a few outside tables. Comfortable and casual - food very fresh and good
Great food. Attentive service.
This was our 3rd visit to Two Spear Street. We lucked out and had the same waiter, Paul, as the previous two visits. Service from Paul and the busboy were A+. Attentive but also relaxed and fun. We also witnessed that Paul very patient and kind in addressing the dietary concerns of a patron at the table next to us. The food was excellent and the evening was very enjoyable.
Great River View Find! Amazing food a perfect service. One of the best cosmos I've ever had!! The arugula salad was fresh and delicious and the seared seabass was cooked just right with the cool mango salsa. Will for sure be back soon!
Wait staff extremely polite. Food great except for pork chop. Long wait for food despite fairly empty venue.
Food and location were good. However, the service (and Paul especially) was great. Very personable and attentive.
Absolutely amazing! Will recommend to anyone looking for a great meal. Will definitely be back!
7/15/17 It seemed quiet for a Friday nite, but the weather wasn't that nice. Waiters were attentive and food was brought out in a timely fashion. Everything was delicious although my halibut special may have been cooked a tad too much but was otherwise very good. We will definitely be back!
Visiting Nyack, we were grateful to stumble upon such a nice little restaurant. The food was delicious, and the staff delightful. It is ocated a block off of Main Street with river view and a convenient parking lot. We had such a good experience that we returned the next night. The only disappointment was the raw blue point oysters which were watery and flavorless. I would choose one of the other excellent appetizers unless you are just looking for a for cocktail sauce delivery vehicle.
This the second time we've eaten there and found it just as fabulous! The food, service and ambience have made this one of our top "special occasion " restaurant choices!
This was a great choice for our anniversary dinner. The service was great and the food delicious. I would definitely return.
The food was pretty good but the place was too quiet. We were also disappointed that they didn't have their prix fixe menu as advertised online. Not sure if we'd go back as it was a bit pricey.
After enjoying our most recent visit to 2 Spear Street for my wife's birthday, a month ago, we returned to 2 Spear Street for our wedding anniversary. We luckily had the same great waiter, Paul and busboy, Chase serving us. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The view of the Hudson tops it all off. We will definitely be back again.
THERE WERE 4 OF US. TWO OF US ENJOY WHAT WE ORDERED. THE OTHER TWO THOUGHT THEIR FISH WAS OVERCOOKED. OUR WAITER, BERNARD, WAS VERY ATTENTIVE. THE RESTAURANT ITSELF WAS VERY NICE.
