Would not recommend for afternoon tea, even with a Groupon. Food was clearly premade and stale as if it came from a cheap buffet line. You’re better off at a real afternoon tea experience at the Plaza right across the street.
A wonderful get together place for conversation. Tea time setup was outstanding! Waiters and services prompt and friendly! Thanks very much!
We enjoyed the experience overall. Considering the upscale nature of the Pierre hotel and the restaurant, It was a bit surprising that no one offered to take our coats so we just put them on the couches. The table where we sat had several scratches on it. I understand that they don't use tableclothes so they should probably fix the table or remove it.
Afternoon tea was very nice, large selection of tea sandwiches, pastries and teas. Nice setting , quiet and very nice service.
My sister and I were there for high tea, which we had reserved ahead of time. The hotel is beautiful, however, I found the lounge where we had the tea to be less impressive. The host was snobby and not friendly and sat us at the first table from his station - nothing special considering we had reserved the date/time. We had the basic high tea, and the server we had for the tea was friendlier, although he never checked back in with us once he brought the tea and food. We were never asked if we wanted more hot water, or if everything was okay. I would have expected the service at The Pierre Hotel to be much much better - it was not as nice as the Neiman Marcus Rotunda tea in San Francisco. Lastly, we both thought the food was good and the assortment of tea sandwiches, scones and pastries was lovely - however, we did notice that the small pots of lemon curd, raspberry jam and devonshire cream were dried out on top, as were a couple of the tea sandwiches. I understand that all that is portioned out and made ahead of time, but I would expect they could cover up the food to keep it moist and fresh, as if it was just made. From that perspective, it was a bit disappointing.
We have been to Afternoon Tea here several times and I can’t recommend this enough! It’s wonderful m. The food is delicious and the service is great
Favorite place in New York when looking for quiet understated elegance. Impeccable service and delicious food. Love The Pierre.
Had a groupon for Afternoon Tea here and LOVED IT! The food was fabulous - from the salmon and cucumber sandwiches to the macaroons! Tea was tasty as well :)
Great service with tasteful food. Environment is exceptional quiet for private conversation.
Great for date and chat with your sweet heart!
We went during restaurant week before a show. The food and service were excellent and the wait staff were attentive to ensure that we finished in plenty of time to get to a 7 pm show. Highly recommend. Very convenient for pre-theater dining’
Afternoon tea at the Two E Bar & Lounge is highly recommended! I had an amazing time, the staff was very attentive and all of the food was delicious. I will definitely be returning for afternoon tea again!
**Bonus: This did not apply to me but I thought it was great that they offer this: if you give the staff a 24 hour notice, they can customize a vegan menu as well.
I had a amazing time from the foodto the service everything was great . I will definitely be coming back .
The ambience and service was impeccable. The Afternoon Tea was plentiful. There are only two things I would do differently: I would offer more savory and less sweet. We didn't touch anything on the bottom platter but craved more of the delicious curry chicken tartlets. The scones were perfect. The second is not to prepare each platter ahead of time. You can taste the refrigeration in the bread. It gave it a stale texture and a not so fresh taste. All in all, for the experience, I would do it again.
Was given a terrible table next to waiters’s station even though many other tables were available.
I sent my wife, mother and 2 daughters (mid 20's) to the Two E Bar for a Royal Afternoon Tea.
They started at the Downton Abby Exhibit after a 1 .5 hour train/cab ride south to arrive in the city. Just to mention this was a well planned event and not a " is it open ...lets try here"
They have enjoyed High Tea at many area hotels and were excited to finally try the Pierre . They started at the bar with a bottle of champagne and a Cosmo or 2 ($120.00 with tip) then moved into a first seating for tea at 2pm. ( no real crowd). They told me the service was absent. After the tray of tiered tea accoutrements was delivered with the included glass of champagne the waiter was gone....
My daughter had to stand and leave her seat to try and get a glass of water for the table. Royal Tea for 4 $320.00.without tip. My wife left a disappointed $50 tip for the meal.
Sorry to be so Gauche by adding the costs of the meals and drinks but when you spend $500 for tea and cookies and a cocktail in NYC you should also enjoy the experience of paying the bill. Its fun to splurge and with High Tea the opulence is half of the fun.
I have enjoyed a $3 meal as well as a $2,000 meal but the true enjoyment is in the pleasure of knowing the time and money were both well spent. The Pierre is an iconic treasure of NYC and certainly should be given a chance to serve the reader of this review. They just won't be serving my family High Tea again any time soon. But unlike an Elephant I don't have a great memory...
Lovely atmosphere, wonderful service and delicious traditional tea.
Went for high tea, it was a wonderful experience, would definitely return again, food and service impeccable.
My daughter and I went for an afternoon tea. It was a great service and food. We loved every minute of it. The sandwiches and scones were Devine. I only wish they had a few more suggestions on tea and food pairings.
Its lovely that Two E Bar and Lounge change their menu of savories and sweets.
The blended teas were delicious. A wonderful place to talk with friends & family.
Pros- Beautiful place. Amazing staff. Great popcorn/ snacks.
Cons- Drinks we average however the impeccable service made up for it imo. I had the kettle one cosmo and a glass of rose champagne.
Tips- Make sure to visit the rotunda before leaving!!
Great service and nice selection of teas. Be careful that tea is not unlimited for afternoon tea - one flavor per one person.
Our experience lived up to the expectation- great service, very good food, great decor & ambience. Tea lovers will enjoy the experience and the decor.
pretty pricey but good
I got a voucher for afternoon tea. Never did that before. I took my girlfriend and it was a different kind of date. Highly recommended!
I took my kids with another family with two kids, so 4 kids in total. I thought it may be challenging but the staff was so welcoming, kids enjoyed the food so much, and the overall service was just excellent. Food was great too. I'd recommend to anyway who wants to have a very nice experience in ny.
Had afternoon tea; sandwiches not particularly tasty, the bread was dry; tiny portions of cream and jam; pastries not particularly tasty either. Panettone scones were slightly oily. I was in a party of 5 squished around a too-small table and too-small banquette. There was hardly room for the teacups and plates around the 3-tier stands. I did not feel it was value for money compared to other hotel teas I’ve had or compared to what afternoon tea was like at the Pierre years ago.
I took my two granddaughters 15 and 18 - and it was a nice special event for all of us. They were in NYC for a few days and they requested something special - which it was.
Beautiful tea room. Lovely presentation with the tea tower. Lovely tea. The bread for the sandwich is a bit dry but otherwise it's great.
Great service and very elegant hotel surroundings. the groupon deal for afternoon tea is well worth it.
The afternoon tea service is wonderful. Service is impeccable. Atmosphere elegant. Looking forward to returning.
Best High Tea in NYC. The selection of sweets an savories is the best in NYC and that is why we continue to frequent when we go for tea. Service is attentive. Always an enjoyable afternoon.
I have been to the Pierre many times but never for. Tea, it was very nice except an hour in there was a school having tea with Santa, it was extremely loud and very hectic and at that point was actually annoyed tea should be quiet and relaxing, the school should have had a private room for this or when I made the reservation they should have mentioned this to me very disappointed! Also the waiter was not attentive after he brought us the tea never once came back and asked if we needed anything
I brought my 13 yr old daughter and her friend for her birthday. Both girls had a wonderful time and Anton our server was very friendly and made the day enjoyable.
A wonderful place for an authentic afternoon tea service. The food is delicious and the service impeccable.
The Pierre is my absolute favorite place for high tea.
Beautiful space and service was attentive. We went for a quick bite with a date . Place is quiet and beautifully decorated ! Highly recommend
Tea here is always special ! Delicious food and champagne and never rushed !! Great service
We had a wonderful time at afternoon tea...delicious bites and super attentive service.
