Twisted Tapas boasts a diverse menu that includes traditional and bold international-fusion dishes. It features both hot and cold plates influenced by French, Italian and Asian cuisine. Among favorites are the jalapeño gnocchi, cucumber salad with red wine vinaigrette and bacon-wrapped dates in a tasty roasted-pepper sauce. Always-changing seasonal specials incorporating fresh farm-to-table components keep the selection fresh. Twisted Tapas also offers pitchers of house-made red sangria to accompany the meal.
The brightly colored walls of Twisted Tapas feature vintage-inspired decor and artistic mosaic tilework. Large windows let in plenty of natural light and open to the quiet neighborhood streets during the warmer seasons. A private dining space with seating for up to 30 is ideal for parties and other special gatherings. Twisted Tapas is open for dinner and drinks Tuesday through Saturday evenings and has extended hours on Sundays with a special brunch menu.
Cute place, friendly staff. Sangria was delicious. Food was not so good. Bacon wrapped dates are my favorite, but the sauce they had with it was odd. The croquet with chicken and chorizo I didn’t even eat. The corn cake with beef on top, looked good, but was not that tasty. I really wanted it to be good as the other reviews were so high.
Birthday. Asked for a dessert (said I’d pay) as a surprise for bday. Nothing came of it. Food is pretty good but not worth dealing with the crap service.
My birthday dinner with boyfriend
Twisted Tapas is one of our favorite restaurants in Rogers Park. We’ve never been disappointed with the food. The food is delicious and gourmet on a small plate!
The best restaurant in our neighborhood. The food has great flavors. The wine list is reasonably priced but the selection could be better. Overall, awesome East Rogers Park restaurant.
We ordered vegetarian and fish dishes and found them to be flavorful and filling (always a question when it comes to small plates). We would order these again: Jalapeno Gnocchi (not super spicy), Fish Tacos, Mushroom Corncake (divine cream sauce). Stuffed Zucchini (pictured) was OK. We thought that the Twisted Eggplant was not as crispy as we'd have liked. Lots of other options on the menu that we'll try next time. A pitcher of pink sangria was just right. We were there on a beautiful evening, and the big picture windows were open--lovely good luck. The decor is warm, bright, beautiful and festive. The parking is awful. Plan on 10 minutes to find a space on a weekend night. I'd love if they'd consider offering valet parking at busy times, although I'm not sure where a valet would find spaces. It's a half block walk from Pratt Street Beach if you want to take a stroll after dinner.
Going to Twisted Tapas is an absolute Joy. We went for a friend's birthday and we're able to share many small dishes. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who asked about it. The food is great service is great and even parking was not so bad even though we did have to park on the street . All in all an exceptional experience.
Beautiful food, fabulous service and fun people! Try the party room, we loved it for a birthday.
Brought my sister and her boyfriend here so I could impress them with how awesome a neighborhood we live in. They were wowed! It was one of the best birthdays I have ever had.
Twisted Taps is my happy space in Rogers Park. I always feel welcome, have fun, and enjoy great food. This last time, I went with some family members who preferred vegetarian dishes and found plenty to satisfy. Also - please note - they have an excellent kids menu (It doesn't appear on their website). Mac and cheese, chicken fingers, pb&j and more. Also something to remember if you reserve their lovely side room for a party - there will be plenty of choices for everyone in your group.
Excellent food. Some very clever taste combinations. Immediately dealt with a dish we hated and brought something else. Waitress Jill was friendly, helpful Couldn't ask for more.
I've been going to Twisted Tapas for several years. On the most recent occasion, I was disappointed with the chicken meatballs. They were rather dry and barely had any cheese in them. Everything else was very good, though, especially the jalapeno gnocchi.
Great food and quiet enough for conversation. Good service, no rush.
Portions sizes were very generous for tapas. We shared 5 plates and even brought some home. Great place to go!
My favorite restaurant. Great food, reasonable prices, friendly atmosphere, attentive and efficient staff.
Excellent! Will be back next time I’m in town! Selection was great!
I love this place. It's such a great addition to Rogers Park!
Great food and wonderful service. Highly recommended!
This is a great neighborhood tapas place—reasonably priced, not too fancy, and very tasty!
Great time and food
I have eaten at Twisted Tapas several times before. This last time was a bit disappointing. Saturday night, so they were busy. Our waiter was not very attentive. He basically dropped the food as he walked by, never stopping long enough for us to ask a question or for him to notice the empty water glasses. They used to have a chocolate mouse tart or cake on the dessert menu that was to die for. It's no longer there so we ordered the Night & Day mousse of white chocolate and dark chocolate mousses with a layer of pound cake and some berry coulis. The mousses were ho-hum and the pound cake looked and tasted like Sara Lee. The most flavorful part of the dessert was the coulis but, alas, there was only a tiny drizzle.
Love the vibe at Twisted Tapas. Cool setting, friendly service, excellent and unique tapas.
We're regulars. This time we tried several new hot dishes and they were all delightful flavor bombs.
Jill Jill Jill...they say its the people and service that make the difference. Well not only was Jill an outstanding host and personally served us - she picked all our plates. The food.....was awesome! Even my Uber driver was excited for me to try it out. We had a ton of the food and it was all fantastic; some included these exceptional ones: short rib, bacon-wrapped dates, asparagus, brussel sprouts, fish tacos, goat cheese and pretty much any dessert! Go now - it’s that good! Can’t wait to return....I’m hungry writing this.
Smaller menu. But excellent taste. Not too salty with very natural flavors Service fast and professional. Friendly. Will be back again
Great place to eat. Love coming here for social, fun, dates, or solo dinning. Lots of great options of food. The service is always good, but the last time the service was just ok. Once the food came out, our services didn’t really check up on us. So if we needed refills we had to wait quite a while.
Food was still as great as always. And the ambiance was really good!
Really meh. Service was ok but kind of weird. Would rather drive another ten minutes to Evanston to Tapas Barcelona.
Food was ok. Chef refused to serve a side of fries even though fries were on the menu as part of another dish, whatever. Our server was ok but smelled of cigarettes. Place is a nice walk away so we want to like it but last time was just good.
New fav! Enjoyed everything about Twisted Tapas! Amazing food (try the seasonal pumpkin ravioli, jalapeño gnocchi, and baked goat cheese), a conversational, attentive server (who happened to be the GM!), Great music and a fun atmosphere. Will definitely go back, as there's still a bunch of menu to explore!
Twisted Tapas was fantastic! The food is amazing and the servers really know their stuff. Make sure to try the sangria!
We come here as often as we can. It’s a neighborhood gem that shouldn’t be missed.
Jill took care of us this evening, and she did a fabulous job. She’s quick with a refill or new crafted cocktail suggestion, and her humor is one of the many reasons we enjoy dropping by. We always request her.
We had the garlic potato salad, a staple of any tapas restaurant, but theirs just melts in your mouth, leaving a delicious aftertaste. We then had the bacon wrapped dates with a roasted pepper sauce that just makes your taste buds sing. The Brussels sprouts with dried cherries and bacon were a great combination, only to be kicked up a notch with the addition of a balsamic drizzle. Fantastic! The stuffed zucchini was next, and I always tell my vegetarian clients that this dish might make me stop eating meat. It’s that good! “Red and white quinoa, fresh baby spinach, carrots, sautéed shallots, sun-dried tomatoes, champagne vinegar topped with queso fresco on a bed of smoky black bean puree.” It’s quite a complex combination that leaves me asking if anyone would be willing to get another one.
We finished the meal with their coffee flan. Wow. Wasn’t expecting it have such a dark, smooth flavor. It was a great counterpoint to everything else we had.
Oh yeah. All of the above mentioned items came from their gluten free menu.
Love this place. The sangria and tapas are amazing. One of our favorites!!
Great place in North Chicago. The food is to die for, tasty and in generous portions. The staff is great and super chilled. Had family visiting from Florida, they loved it so much that we had to go twice over the weekend!
Nice menu, super friendly server and nice ambiance was my first experience at Twisted Tapas. Can’t wait to come back!
Lovely food with a good variety and excellent, friendly service. Will frequent this place for the variety, reasonable prices and service with a smile.
We were on the lookout for good food near the Loyola Lakeshore Campus. Twisted Tapas did not disappoint. The food was great. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu offerings.
