Twisted CUBAN Cafe & Bar
For a change, it was good to explore a new cuisine. When my order came, the meat was hot but the rice, beans & fried bananas were cold.
Great place for small groups or dates; the food is excellent and a nice change of pace from most PNW options. Anything with the fried plantains (twice or single fry) is delicious! The draft selection is small, but varied and I didn't hear any complaints from my cocktail-drinking companions. The Cuban food is authentic in that it is flavorful and spiced without being particularly hot-spicy. If you want heat, they have the sauces for it, however. Very casual and colorful atmosphere. Parking can get tricky on a busy night, but there is plenty to be had if you don't mind a small walk.
Really great food. I ordered a camarones dish, and my date ordered the Monster Cuban. Both were authentic and delicious.
We both had maduros for dessert, and the cafe con leche was perfection.
Looking forward to returning soon.
I'm sure we had the same grumpy waiter others have complained about. Geez, he can ruin a night. And the tables that aren't booths are the worst most uncomfortable thing I've ever seen.
We were very excited to try this Cuban restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was very bland, and the service was not that great. We were only offered 1 drink, and never asked if we wanted another glass of wine. We were looking forward to trying dessert but the check landed on our table before we could ask, and were never offered the opportunity for dessert. It was Obvious they wanted us out the door. :(
Great food! Shrimp was awesome! My husband had the Cuban and he rated it one of the best he’s ever had!
Great service, good food, interesting and fun xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Amazing food, friendly waitstaff! Perfect for before a school dance dinner!
I love the food here - the fish fillet is amazing. Lots of choices for gluten free people if needed. Fun place to come for Cuban food!
The mojito was perfect. The pork ribs dish delish, ceviche, and plantains each cooked with lots if flavor. Memorable and plan to come back!
Brilliant, authentic, cuisine with a fun, family vibe
Service was as expected and the food was good and hot when arrived. The music was good and the waiter was friendly.
The food was outstanding, truly delicious and flavorful. Both my and my husbands portion was generous and even though we were full, we didn’t want to stop eating because it was so good! The mojitos we had were also very good. There was only one waiter who was also the bartender and though he was efficient he was not exactly friendly. I can only think he was just focused on taking care of all the customers the best he could, since it was a full house.
It’s our neighborhood favorite! Everyone’s wonderful - the server (judging from multiple times) tends to be a bit challenging, however. The food is outstanding!!
Not the flavors I am used to. Grew up with Cuban food in South Miami and they lacked seasoning in some and others were overseasoned with cumin. I was excited to order ham croquetas but was disappointed not to taste any ham. Perhaps all breading?
Thumbs up to the yuca frita and the aeoli. Sweet plantains were good, hard to mess on these.
I would suggest reviewing recipies and maybe let mom or grandma check for quantities of spices.
It seems they have a cigar room at night, the strong smell of tobacco lingered in the air at lunch time. It was nice they had the front door open to air out.
Great food in a laid back atmosphere- really enjoyed the mojito and hustling my husband at dominos ❤️
Great food and service!
Delicious as usual.
Great food , service and wonderful ambiance!
Perfect place to go with your family and enjoy a nice lunch or dinner!
I know a lot of people like this restaurant and I was eager to try it. The food was okay nothing special. Appetizers were cold in the middle. The steak was tough and I just want to pay my bill and go. I don’t think I’ll try it again.
Smells smokey when you first walk in due to the private cigar room, but you get used to it. Great food and service!
The Twisted Cuban Cafe is fantastic. The food is great and the service is excellent. My dish of shredded pork was exquisitely prepared. The spices added but not overwhelm the flavor. The rice and beans were extremely tasty. When I go to TTCC I have a specially prepared Mojito which is out of this world. Julio the owner is extraordinarily friendly. He sat with our party and shared some of his life experiences. I highly recommend TTCC as a relaxed place with a great atmosphere to go along with the delicious food.
Food was medicore and mostly overcooked. Only good item was the empanada
This is a great place for a couple on a night out or family looking for excellent Cuban food. Sometimes it seems to be too popular for staff to keep up with but usually everyone leaves full and happy. Avoid the rush and go mid week.
Mojito was the best I've had in the NW.
Cuban food was prepared well, but lacked full flavor. Cuban sandwich good, flan excellent. Worth a try! I'd go back & try other menu items with a Mojito (or two.)
Our waiter ruined what was intended to be a fun birthday celebration. From the very start he was very brusque, almost bordering on rudeness. It couldn't have been because he was too busy, as there were only a few other diners in the restaurant. The cocktails and food were quite good and authentic. The food was well prepared and we all got good sized portions. If it hadn't been for the service, I would have given the restaurant three or four stars. We won't be going back. Ever.
Creative and interesting menu, but the actual food was only decent. We enjoyed our meal, but weren't wowed.
Just wish they still had cerviche. They had it on the restaurant week menu, but is no longer there :( Was the best that I have ever had.
Normally love this place, but this night was off. Understaffed and slow service which is fine as she was nice, apologetic and we were busy celebrating birthday. But food was just bad. Bean soup was so salty it was inedible. Shredded beef was soupy and very salty. I couldn't eat it. Cubano sandwich was dry and flavorless. Will go back and hope it's just a bad night
Excellent food that is a nice change from the 'norm' - many authentic Cuban dishes that you won't find elsewhere. Prompt and professional service. Is a bit small and can get loud.
Highly recommend you try this restaurant. I had the Fillete de Pescado and it melted in my mouth. The fish had an amazing flavor. Can't wait to return to try the sandwhiches. The service was top notch.
Really good food, our party of 8 enjoyed everything. The only down fall is they were out of the yuca fritas. And those were my moms favorite, which matters since it was mother's day. Overall, great food, great time
This was our second visit and brought friends. Our service was terrible and so slow. We had to find someone to take our drink order and the server did not know what type of beer was available. The food was not as good as our previous visit so disappointed we talked it up to our friends. We won’t be back.
Food was ok. Expected more taste and was served warm.
We had such a good meal at Twisted Cuban that we're going back tonight and taking some family members. Good drinks, good food and top notch service at a reasonable price.
We had a great time. The food, the service, the drinks were all top notch. Our waitress was a sweetheart too!
Wonderful food! Every person at our table mentioned how good their food was multiple times. Too bad we live so far away, I’d add this as a regular place to go.
Great food and lots of it. Parking is a challenge but the food is worth it
My father is Cuban and did most of the cooking when I was a kid. Cuban food is comfort food. This was an excellent twist ;) on my father's home cooking. The best flan I've had outside my family's!
