We had a great time and met friends from out of town and were able to have a great conversation. Food was delicious and thankful for a great place to connect with friends.
Twist is always a fun stop---from the friendly and helpful staff to the wide-ranging menu. To top it off, it is a BYOB establishment ($5/bottle corking charge...they provide ice and glasses and recorking if needed).
The owner is from Morocco; if you catch him in, ask him about his favorite eateries over there and how he has been able to transport his favorite dishes. My favs: Lamb shank, steak frites, scallops; local dishes like crab cakes; "new age" dishes like chicken and waffles. You cannot go wrong trying any of the salads (e.g., crab anc avocado), the mezze plate (Baba ghanouj, Tebouleh, Humus, feta cheese and Olive tepenade, with pita), the spicy lamb sausage.
On our last visit, there was a very boisterous table of six diners next to us; the occasional outburst of laughter was, honestly, both annoying and heartening (that the restaurant engenders having a good time). There is a larger dining area in the back; it is perfect for more intimate group gatherings, like a retirement party or luncheon.
The only downside is the area parking situation. Fells Point is only growing in popularity. I recommended driving around the adjacent blocks to see if you find a spot; if no spots available, drop your party off at the door and wander until a spot opens up---well worth the effort!
A wonderful find!
The braised lamb shank is really good! We were just trying it out but ended up liking it a lot.
This is a terrific place for breakfast, lunch or an easy dinner. We were there for lunch, and the food was terrific. The Moroccan breakfast casserole is highly recommended for anyone who likes something a bit more savory than the standard brunch fare. The setting is casual but pleasant. There is a dining area in the back of the restaurant that looks a bit more formal than the front. I’ll go back to Twist to sit back there and try some of the dinner entrees!
We started our Ravens Game Day with breakfast at Twist. Our servers were pleasant and helpful and they are the primary reason why the Ravens won 47-3 ;-)
Loved the seared scallops and risotto. Very rich and filling. Husband had lamb and said it was divine. I sampled his side veggies and some of the sweet, tangy sauce from the meat. Yum. Side of mushrooms was tasty. Shared a tiramisu which was the perfect ending to an excellent meal. Also really appreciated the BYO concept. There was a nominal corking fee. Overall fairly priced for the quality and quantity. We would definitely return!
Out standing over all. We sat outside for Sunday Brunch. Service was superb! Food was prepared to order and a menu accommodation was made.
Looking forward to returning for dinner.
Great food, great ambiance, great people who run the place!
It’s small but serve delicious food. It was our first time there but we’ll definitely go back.
Delicious, Meditteranean cuisine. Great vibe. Healthy.
Great meal, impeccable service and a BYOB to boot. The lamb fell off the bone and was cooked to perfection!
Wanted a nice first date spot that wasn't overdone or trying too hard. This place delivered very well in that regard. We went on a Monday evening so I can't comment on the noise level, but the atmosphere and style was very nice. The menu was full of great course options and they chilled our wine for us. Definitely worth a repeat visit.
Always a reliably good meal and experience at Twist. Small, intimate and unique menu. BYOB means the cost is reasonable and we bring exactly what we want to drink. They provide mixers if desired. Small staff that knows the menu and finds the right balance of attention and privacy. We’ve become regulars in a neighborhood with a hundred options.
Wonderful Mediterranean food; we had a table in the back room where we could have a work discussion. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed our meals tremendously. Great atmosphere, quiet and pleasant service. It was quite warm in the restaurant. We will definitely go back soon.
It was ok. Ordered my hamburger medium but inside it was rare in parts of it and it gave me a stomach ache after. Otherwise it was ok. My daughter's pasta was good she said. The tomato and mozellera was good. Husbands shrimp were good. It was small inside and our table was awkward for three of us given it's location on the walkway to kitchen.
We were celebrating a successful surgery and recovery by a quick overnight in Fells. We decided to try Twist and we’re very happy with the decision. We had an mezze appetizer that was awesome with hummus and baba gonoush olives and Tempenade served with warm pita. The entrees were both very good but my lamb just fell off the bone. Being able to bring our own alcohol made it even more affordable. The service was also good. Definitely will go back.
Some great menu options in this Moroccan owned BYOB such as a very mediterranean and delicious shank of lamb served with cous cous, and an excellent lobster ravioli. Good wine store over the square has all you need for a complete meal. French spoken here!
Love the wait staff here; super friendly and on top of things. The food is excellent. Highly recommend.
Portable air conditioners made no difference, incredible hot and uncomfortable setting. Mushroom ravioli sauce gloppy. Chicken in the chicken and waffles was incredibly dry. “Maple syrup” was just Mrs Butterworth, not real maple syrup. Waiter made mistake and brought out au gratin potatoes with whipped cream for dessert instead of bread pudding. Ice cream must have been sitting around for a while, was half melted by the time it reached our table. The lone waiter got more overwhelmed as the night wore on and the heat level rose. Can I give this place negative stars??
AC wasn’t working, restaurant had fans running but was ~~90 degrees. Everything else was great.
Great rowhome restaurant with good food, fair prices, and friendly service. And BYOB. Customers skewed young, as you’d expect for a reasonably priced restaurant in Fells Point. We’ll be back.
We had a large group for ladies brunch. We were seated in back, per our request on open table. Amongst the group we had a wide variety from menu. Everything was delicious! Salmon, fabulous. Servers worked as a team for seamlessly good service. Ambiance is quaint. On street parking was no problem. All 14 of us agree it's a must return.
We have come here for brunch twice already. The food is great and fresh with good sized portions.
Food and service was fantastic!
There were 4 of us and only one complaint--the scallops were gritty. Otherwise, the food was delicious. Nice variety and some good Med cuisine. Would definitely go back. Very pleasant and great service.
The lamb shank is delicious!!
Very good food with in a cute little dining area in back. Different than most others in Fells Point.
Great food. Loved the atmosphere. Braised lamb was outstanding
As always, we were warmly greeted by Judd. He is such a great asset to Twist. He remembers the customers and greets them by name. Mouchine, the owner, came out to greet us as well. They make us feel like part of their family. Tonight, we were having an early celebration for my husband’s birthday. We requested to be seated in the back dining room as it is much quieter there. He ordered their special dinner of a steak with shrimp stuffed with crab and zucchini and squash sautéed with olive oil and garlic. He was in heaven. Our friend also ordered a steak with a side of pasta with olive oil and garlic. She savored her meal as well. I am a huge fan of their Mediterranean lamb burger. It is always so satisfying and delicious. We just love that we can BYOB. We really had a great birthday celebration at Twist!
Great Mediterranean cuisine spot in Fells Point. The BYOB arrangement is a plus. They feature a variety of options, and all we had were excellently prepared and presented.
The Moroccan dishes are above and beyond. The Benedict was also amazing. Definitely will be a new regular spot.
This was our first time at Twist and we are glad we tried it. The brunch food was very good. And now we have a new spot for breakfast.
The setting, s rc
Food was DELICIOUS!! The host was wonderful and very accommodating! The server however, was less then dynamic..not quick to take our order, refill our water our bring our check. We will return but would request a different server!
Third visit and always love the Twist. BYO Bottle makes it special (always drink exactly what you want) and super affordable. Diverse menu a new Mediterranean, and old favorites. Our top spot in Fells.
A very good find. Had no idea about the restaurant other than what I read on their website. Glad I gave it a try. Had the scallops which were delicious and everyone seemed to really enjoy their meal. A little noisy but all in all, I would recommend the restaurant.
We picked this restaurant sight unseen, using Open Table reviews, for a brunch after my daughter's morning graduation in Baltimore. It was a rainy Friday afternoon and the restaurant was not busy. It is very charming, with an eclectic flair. It is BYOB, so we bought a bottle of champagne and made mimosas with orange juice supplied by the restaurant. The menu was quite extensive, with enough options to please the vegetarians and carnivores among us. We were all happy with our meals and all said that we would go back. Parking was a bit of a challenge but we all managed to find spots close by.
Great lamb shank, best I’ve tasted
