Twin City Grill Ratings and Reviews
I'm just leaving a review to note that the kitchen was very accommodating and understood when we sent back a salad that had pasta in the mix. They sent out a salad of just vegetables as requested, but it was significantly less in volume, so no vegetables were added to make up the volume from the removed ditalini pasta.
It was fine, nothing too fancy. Very busy, sometimes hard to hear well. We had a reservation, but they said it would still be a 10 minute wait. We went up to the bar. A patron moved over so we'd have two seats, the bartender brought us a menu we were about to order and then moments later the hostess came to seat us. (annoying!) Our server started out quite attentive to our table, but then must have forgotten about us. We wanted drinks from the bar- but he never came back to our table after taking our order and before our lunch arrived. Ok food, but a little expensive for what you get.
Our server Evan was very friendly and made our evening enjoyable. We had the Roasted Garlic Chicken which was delicious and the Turkey dinner which was also very good. Other plates that went by also smelled and looked good. Nice atmosphere with friendly, attentive staff.
This was marked as the #2 restaurant in our area. The cheese curds were delicious. However, the rest of the meal was below average. For the price, the fish was "fishy" and the prime rib was "chewy." Would not recommend. I expect better quality for the amount charged.
We had dined with this restaurant once previous to this visit and all seemed okay, so we decided to try it again...wished we hadn't wasted out time. We never even got to the meal, as we were turned off by crumbs we could feel on table as were sat, to multiple rolls of silverware that we opened that were dirty, also a dirty bread plate. This made us not want to eat anything using utensils and made us curious about the cleanliness of the restaurant as a whole. The server was somewhat friendly, and offered to get the manager when we brought these thing to his attention. The manager was not very timely so we decided to leave as we were hungry and didn't want to deal with this on our day off. At the prices this restaurant charges, I would expect much better. Very disappointing!
We go to Twin Cities Grill the day after Christmas with all the kids and their significant others for the past 10 years. We have always loved the spot, the food and mostly have had good service. This time the food was ok not good as normal and the service was not really good at all. We had to keep looking for our waiter to order and then had to ask twice for the check. It was busy as it always is so we cut him some slack but at some point even that wears out.
We will go back next year and hopefully have the food and service we have come to expect.
There is such a wide variety of options to choose from that it works really well whether we want fine dining or a inexpensive casual meal.
I especially appreciate the great gluten free menu and the delicious made from scratch gluten free bread they serve before the meal.
We had both steak and fish and both were done perfectly.
Our server was very knowledgeable regarding their wine list and the gluten free menu. We definitely plan to go back.
Experience was very good overall. Food is really good. Atmosphere is great - lively and 'old school'. Service is a little slow but good. We had issues with one of our entrees being incorrect and one being late, but the server was very attentive and brought it to management attention. They comped 2 items from our bill AND apologized sincerely for the inconvenience.
My wife tried the special steak salad vs the standard grill room salad and had to return it for a grill room. The waitress was very understanding and brought the dish quickly and without problem. So kudos to TWG for making it right. I had the grilled ahi tuna sandwich which was as good as it going to get 2000 miles from the nearest tuna.
Food was very good as usual. Service has slipped somewhat. My reservation was given to someone else and it appeared they did not have a sufficient number of servers for the volume of business. The couple seated next to us left without ordering because it took too long for the server to wait on them.
