Twin City Grill Ratings and Reviews
I took my granddaughter to Twin City Grill for lunch during a shopping trip to the Mall of America. It was February 14th.
Unbeknownst to me, the restaurant wasn’t serving ‘lunch’ that day because it was a ‘holiday’.
I also had a coupon I was planning to use, but that day it was exempt.
Needless to say, that lunch ended up being more than I planned to spend. I was tempted to walk out, but didn’t.
Food, ambiance, service were all fine, just not the deal I was looking for.
This place is always busy. We had reservations, and they got us right in. It was noted in our reservation that it was for a special occasion, but it was never mentioned or acknowledged. Other places we have gone, have noted that. The food was VERY good. Plenty of it. Our server was very good and attentive. The décor is understated, classy, but very busy and very crowded. Enjoyed our visit. Will try again!
Delicious food and excellent service! My wife and I each had the Northern Lake Walleye Fish Fry and it came with the salt & vinegar fries. We loved the salt & vinegar flavoring, oh so good! For apps, we had the State Fair style cheese curds. I got a banana cream pie to go and that was awesome too. All in all, highly recommended!
I'm going with 4 on ambiance as the Super Bowl group certainly had an impact and I don;t want to be unfair. Same for noise level. Not sure what it is like on a regular weekend. Restaurant was churning tables like crazy but the service didn;t miss a beat which is a real challenge when there is a perpetual 2 hr wait for a table.
Busy Saturday before Super Bowl, so I was very happy to have made at reservation for a late lunch/early dinner at 3. Service was spotty...but the waiter kept apologizing for the delays so at least he acknowledged it. Burgers were fantastic, French onion soup is super cheesy and delicious. Consistently great food here.
We met some friends from out of town for the Super Bowl. They had the pan fried walleye and the grilled shrimp. They said their meal was good. I had the stroganoff and the flavor was good, but the meat was tough. I think of stroganoff meat being very tender. The noodles were very good. My husband had the pork ribs and they were tasteless. It was a very busy night and the waiter did his best to keep up
I'm just leaving a review to note that the kitchen was very accommodating and understood when we sent back a salad that had pasta in the mix. They sent out a salad of just vegetables as requested, but it was significantly less in volume, so no vegetables were added to make up the volume from the removed ditalini pasta.
It was fine, nothing too fancy. Very busy, sometimes hard to hear well. We had a reservation, but they said it would still be a 10 minute wait. We went up to the bar. A patron moved over so we'd have two seats, the bartender brought us a menu we were about to order and then moments later the hostess came to seat us. (annoying!) Our server started out quite attentive to our table, but then must have forgotten about us. We wanted drinks from the bar- but he never came back to our table after taking our order and before our lunch arrived. Ok food, but a little expensive for what you get.
Our server Evan was very friendly and made our evening enjoyable. We had the Roasted Garlic Chicken which was delicious and the Turkey dinner which was also very good. Other plates that went by also smelled and looked good. Nice atmosphere with friendly, attentive staff.
