Twigs Restaurant and Bar
Twigs supports local farmers and co-ops whenever possible. We source local, fresh, seasonal ingredients. Each and every dish is prepared to order by our highly trained kitchen staff and served with a warm smile from our attentive waitstaff.
I’ve loved Twigs for over 20 years. It is consistently excellent. Delicious food, very nice atmosphere, friendly staff and the liveliest bar in Blowing Rock. A great blues band played last Saturday night when we were there. It’s always a great evening at Twigs.
WE MADE RESERVATIONS FOR4 AT 6;30. WE WAITED TIL 6:50 because the party before us was not done. When we said something to the hostess she said our reservation had been bumped to 7:00. No one let us know so we waited 30 mins for our table. You tell us to be there on time or you will not honor the reservation and then we are treated this way. Dinner was good not excellent. The shrimp and sausage were overcooked.
We have been to your restaurant 5-6 times now. We like it but we have had 2 disappointing meals. One was A time earlier in the month .
Great food, great service! Crab cakes were amazing!
We enjoyed celebrating at Twigs tonight . The service was wonderful . Our waiter and the rest of the staff were attentive to our needs all throughout dinner. The ambiance is beautiful which made our dinner even more enjoyable .
We all enjoyed our entrees; filet mignon, salmon and ahi . Each prepared with detail and very delicious . We look forward to returning again in the future .
Very aesthetically pleasing atmosphere and a perfect place for a date. Complimentary desert of our choice for my girlfriends birthday also. Excellent service and dining experience. Highly recommend.
We had a fabulous meal and very nice waitress, but our enjoyment was lessened due to a loud mouth using foul language at the table next to us...it was horrible. He should never be allowed at TWIGS again.
Even one of his table mates paid for her own meal and left the restaurant. He was a real jerk and disturbed everyone around him.
Good food. Great service
We enjoyed another delicious dinner at Twigs. This visit we were joined by friends who had eaten there before but it had been awhile. Between the 4 of us we ordered Pecan crusted Trout or Shrimp and Grits. Everyone was pleased and everything was really good. Twigs, we'll be back!
My wife’s dish was to be prepared without garlic, but came out watery and tasteless The other three in the party had good meals.
The bill was to be split but was mixed up, charged incorrectly, took 25 minutes to correct, and was finally fixed with no apology given.
Worst experience I’ve ever had there. May never go back.
Twigs has great food and service but it is always too hot. The temperature outside tonight was 35 and I about burnt up inside
First time dinners. We will be back. Very pleased with everything.
I am a fan of Twigs. I visit 3-4 times a year. Tonight was an off night. The lamb was under cooked and the potatoes were hard and cold. I usually have a wonderful meal but tonight was not a wonderful meal. The creme Brûlée was not set. It should not have been sent out from the kitchen. I will visit again; but it won’t be soon.
Don’t make a reservation for 5:30 on a cold night because if you arrive early you will stand outside in the cold until they open the doors at 5:30 exactly. Made reservation with open table and indicated it was our anniversary and that we wanted a table in the dining room. We were seated instead on the porch within earshot of the hostess station, so we were treated to every conversation regarding tables and reservations, all of the comings and goings so much for ambience!! Server was attentive but did not offer any help with the menu when asked.
As for the food, ordered crab bisque, soup of the night, and was unpleasantly surprised to find several pieces of shell, when it was mentioned to server a polite I’m sorry but no offer of restitution or substitution. Sorry to say that the pecan encrusted trout was not any better, very bland and swimming in butter? Will say husband’s steak was cooked well and very tasty as were the potatoes served with both meals. Decided to go all in and order dessert, Creme brûlée, looked good but was ice cold!! Needless to say we won’t be returning, had looked forward to trying Twigs unfortunately it’s not fine dining go elsewhere if you’re going to spend $$$ on a dining experience.
Everything was excellent--the food and service. They were very crowded but they handled it.
The cocktails were outstanding and the food was delicious. I live this place and visit every time I’m in BR. The filet special was probably the beat I’ve ever had. I love the lighting of this place!!!
Twigs is one of our all time favorite restaurants of all time.
We try to dine there every time we are in Blowing Rock.
The food was delicious. I had the sea bass special and it was amazing.
Overall, everything was excellent. It was understandably a bit loud in the restaurant probably because it was crowded. Food was excellent. Service was excellent and we liked where we were seated. Would definitely recommend Twigs. Only consideration to suggest is that they offer more milk free options such as almond milk creamer for their coffee and more food and desserts that do not include cream and/or cheese.
Food not hot or fresh. Appetizer was burnt and server did nothing to remedy this. Simply said “sorry” while we spent money on something that was not tasty at all
We love Twigs! Anytime we come to the Boone/Blowing Rock area we always eat there! I highly recommended making reservations though. They have a resturant/bar area where you can wait or even eat while waiting on your table. They usually have live music in that part of the resturant. The main dining is beautiful, white table cloths and really pretty amazing “twig” decor dressed in white lights! The service is pretty amazing too and on spot! I highly recommend Twigs!!
Been to Twigs many times, are never disappointed Service and food is consistently excellent. We ate in the dining room this visit, but the bar menu is also great.
Loved the atmosphere! Very cozy and casual but elegant. Food was really good and our server very prompt and efficient. Will definitely be going back when we return to Blowing Rock.
An excellent dining experience. We enjoyed the special entrees.
Lovely room and very attentive service. The disappointment was with the food. It all seemed a bit clumsy in it’s execution and lacking subtle flavors. My wife had the fried green tomatoes which she really enjoyed. I had the single crab cake as an appetizer and it was bland with an equally bland sauce. The salads arrived at our table swimming in dressing to the point that neither of us finished. My wife had the salmon entre and I had bow tie pasta with Chicken. Both lacked any kind of distinct flavor. I was hopeful given it was our first time but unfortunately we probably won’t go back.
One of the best filets We’ve ever had! And the fried green tomatoes were amazing. I could have eaten a whole order myself.
Despite our having a reservation and MANY open tables available, we were given the worst table available- near the kitchen and open traffic lane.
The food was good but I probably would not go back. No particular reason other than it was expensive and I wasn't like "wow".
We enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. Very nice food, great service and enjoyed the atmosphere. Thank you for a great evening.
We love Twigs. Everyone is always so accommodating. We were celebrating our son-in-law's birthday. Our waiter was great and gave us great suggestions.
This was our first time trying Twigs. Our overall impression is Twigs has a confused identity. The lighting, table linens, etc. suggest upscale, but the music and decor suggests a less elegant dining experience.
Not up to Twigs standards. Food was mediocre. Bar Service was incredibly slow! Had finished meal by the time our second glass of wine arrived.
We are regular customers and were disappointed.
Good food with gracious service. White tablecloths and attractive decor but not fussy. Had fun Halloween decorations this week.
Food was very good, portions were very nice , good service , was a little loud
My wife & I have had drinks at Twigs several times but this weekend was our first dinner experience. Very nice evening. It's a great setting -- nice bar (often with excellent local music) that gets crowded & noisy on weekends, but a much quieter dining room. Service was a bit slow on our evening but this was during one of Blowing Rock's busiest tourist weekends so I'll certainly cut the staff some slack on that. We started with the crab cake and the fried green tomato apps (both delicious) then a mahi special for my wife and venison chops for me (again, both excellent). Twigs has operated for decades and there's a reason why -- great spot.
For what they charge the quality should be better, including service.
Not enough waiters. Had little time to check on their tables.
We booked with Twigs upon recommendation from friends. We had been married the night before this dinner and had driven to Blowing Rock to begin our Honeymoon. I noted this in the booking. Upon arrival, we were greeted by someone standing at the hostess desk who checked our reservation and said she would let the hostess know. We took a seat in the waiting area. I went to get a glass of wine and mixed drink while we were waiting. As a side note, it was the worst Old Fashioned I'd ever had. We sat for a while despite activity around us. Finally another employee asked if we were waiting for a table. I again stated we had a reservation. She checked and said that no one had told her that we were there. We were then seated. I mentioned that it was our honeymoon. She said, yes, she knew, it was in the record. Not even a congratulations. Never-the-less, the waitress was exceptional and the food was delicious. I would go back, but it probably would not be my first choice on the list.
Great place. Great food. Make sure you try the Dixie Martini
First time dining at Twigs. Not a good experience from hostess not seating us on time and being very unprofessional to food that was not acceptable and had to be sent back. Can’t recommend given so many better choices in Blowing Rock. Hopefully just on off night.
