Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar - Wandermere Ratings and Reviews
Overall a very well rounded restaurant. The Food exceeded my expectations, the staff were friendly and the overall atmosphere was relaxed. With how many people were there, it actually was less noisy than I expected. Also, the online reservation was handy and very straight forward to use.
The TWIGS hostess greeting was warm and friendly. She ( don't remember her name) immediately asked what our preference was for seating, and after a few more questions asked for a few minutes to set up our tables outside. She adjusted tables and shade umbrellas to ensure our comfort on a warmer sunny evening. Just a great job of customer service. Waitress was also joy on the spot whenever we needed anything, and even did some custom orders to accommodate a couple of our guests. Just a very nice business dinner experience. Thanks, especially the Hostess, whatever her name was.
This was our fourth visit to this Twiggs. The service was fine, the food was delicious, the drinks too spendy. They do need to put umbrellas on ALL their outdoor tables. Love the outdoors, but the sun is brutal on the deck at times. Tried to sign up for a "loyalty club" on the Net as we have spent a few $$$ there, but all the link did was ask us to sign in with our member number???
Huge ghastly cavern causes all sound to be reverberated into a din that makes conversation impossible. Our meal was pretty bad with dried up fish tacos, over-cooked cod and stale, limp fries. I had a dinner salad made from limp brown lettuce. Not sure why this place is going down- hill. We have been there many times over the years. It seems they are drifting into complacency. We won't be back.
Food was good but service was not. Not enough servers...we didn't get silverware until 20 minutes after we sat down to eat our brunch. The server did not mention our options on the brunch and we missed out on some entrees. The servers were very busy...you need to hire more servers for the Easter brunch. Disappointed on our extended family's first Easter brunch at Twigs.
The shepherd's pie, served on a scalding hot plate, was itself, barely warm. The dish basically consisted of a very thin tomato sauce like slop that I guess had ground beef in it. Then there was a small plop of mashed potatoes and cheese on top of that. It didn't taste good, but when does shepherd's pie taste good cold? My date's hamburger was good, we ended up splitting it. But her fries were stale and covered in shredded green leaves (parsley?). It just made the fries hard and embarrassing to eat. She kept picking it off and setting it aside. I heard such rave reviews of Twigs, and the ambiance and service were excellent, it's just too bad the food was so terrible, because eating is really what we go to restaurants for, right?
Although loyal and loved the experience and food, the last 2-3 years has been disappointing. Restaurant week was the reason we decided to try it again after a year and some and we were more disappointed than usual. Food was VERY bland. The brussel sprouts good but how do you mess up pork belly? Peppercorn steak in linguini with a cream brandy sauce I believe? We had to add salt and pepper and the salted cheese cake was tiny and not worth the calories.
We thought the bar had some very loud patrons only to realize it was the kitchen and bar staff being so loud. We were told if the music was too loud to let them know. It was and truly we didn't bother. We were the last ones in the dining room and felt as if we were postponing their party. We had 7:15pm reservations and took our desserts to go.
I've brought concerns over the years and now we're just tired and will not go back. There are too many wonderful restaurants out there like Wild Sage, Masslowes. clover etc. to waste time at Twigs anymore. Thank you for asking.
Everything was good as usual except for where they seated us. We had reservations & were put in the back room that had very bright lighting which is different from the regular restaurant which has dim lighting & better ambiance. Seems like it was a room for larger groups but there was just 2 of us. So not real happy about being seated in that room.
We attend this place on a regular basis, it is always good. This time we took advantage of their Inlander Restaurant week offer. I was mostly not their usual fare but both our dinners were very good. Our server was attentive and pleasant.
The dinner can include a glass of wine or beer (their choices) in replacement of dessert. But you will miss out on their Salted Caramel Cheesecake. It was very, very good. The two of us shared one plate and it was a nice finish to the dinner.
Thought since I mentioned it was my husbands birthday, there would be something special said or even done- nope.
Food was ok- the pulled pork sandwich was cold. Also, Malbec was not good. Waiter seemed rushed and there were not many tables, so not sure why. He also was not a wine drinker so made it hard to explain what was wrong with the Malbec.
We really enjoyed the spacious dining area that was so pleasant and felt very warming (Outside patio was buried in about 18 inches of snow). Food was excellent and our server was very friendly and attentive to us all the time we were there, without being annoying.
I made a reservation to go to Twigs after our Christmas Eve church service and I was afraid everyone would be in a rush to get us served and out. But I was sooo wrong. Our greeting and service was relaxed and festive! The fireplace gave us a very cozy feeling and we even had a cute little snowman looking in the window at us. The food was excellent (as always) and the drinks completed our warming process! Thank you Wandermere Twigs for being a part of our Christmas Celebration.
I haven't been to Twigs in a couple years and wow has this place gone down hill!!! I took my family there for dinner on Christmas eve and was so disappointed. The staff were incredibly unfriendly, especially our waitress, who spent more time outside building a snowman (yes you heard that right) than serving her customers. The quality of the food was atrocious including wilted lettuce on our salads, cold under-cooked chicken, stale bread and over-cooked vegetables. They had absolutely NO vegan options and to top it all off, I was told the $50 gift card (which I purchased myself last year) was not valid and could not be used. This was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a VERY long time and my family will not be returning. Shame on you Twigs!
I was taking my girlfriend in a nice date... When we first get there the waitress was very sweet. I ordered the shrimp pasta, and it was disgusting... The shrimp came with the tails on it, but that wasn't too bad. When I was eating the pasta, I would get pieces of shells from the shrimp, I only at half my plate. I spoke with the manager and he did nothing but skirt around the fact and until my boyfriend spoke up and said it was ridiculous that I'm paying $20 for shells in my pasta when I could've made it at home. He still did nothing. I paid for the dinner and left. It ruined our entire date.
