Twelves Grill & Cafe
Twelves began with renovations of the 125 year old bank in January 2008 and the doors to the restaurant were opened on August 26, 2008. Twelves continues to be an amazing part of the West Grove Borough. We currently seat for lunch, brunch, and dinner along with hosting private events, special themed dinners, and local fundraisers.
Twelves Grill and Cafe is owned and operated by Knute and Bernadette Mellon. The Mellon's are originally from Philadelphia and moved to West Grove in 2013. They have three children Gavin, McKayla, and Maci. The Mellon Family has many exciting plans for the future here in West Grove.

As usual, food was excellent. Took some time to arrive but was worth the wait.
From the Twelves Bread appetizer through the ceasar salad, halibut and salmon entrees to the white chocolate bomb our meal was great! An added bonus was the excellent service provided by Kim and the other servers.
Fried oysters & aioli were great! Burger on the "trio" was ordered medium, but came well done (very hard, dry and black with no pink or moisture inside). "Old Bay" fries had no hint of Old Bay on them that I could taste. Crab cake was respectable... lots of lump crab but just a basic flavor with nothing distinguishing it as superlative or different from other good ones. All in all, an excellent restaurant. My comments are minor and in no way reflect a bad experience. They are meant as a "heads up." We will be back.
Good menu variety, crab cake Benedict was delicious, great food presentation, great service, friendly, charming “old bank” decor
I have recommended Twelves to acquaintances and friends when they are going to be visiting the southern part of Chester county. It is easy to find. Not one has been disappointed. I meet a friend from Maryland there for lunch several times a year. We always have the cream of mushroom soup with lump crab!!!; the best! You must put a slice of French bread on the rim of the cup or bowl. It is good to the very last drop and I don't want to miss any of it!! The menu is terrific. I go home a happy person after enjoying my meal and sharing a wonderful dessert.
The staff is just right!
Thank you for continuing to prepare delicious fare!!!
Not as good as it used to be
West Grove may not be known as a culinary destination (unless you're looking for mushrooms), but Twelves Grill is a great draw. Made reservations for a Friday night, and we were seated immediately. Service was friendly. Food was good. Loved the calamari, which was only lightly breaded and fresh (no chewiness). We ordered burgers (the menu offers many "higher scale" options), which were cooked as ordered and were very filling. But we still made room for dessert and can recommend the pound cake, which was much lighter than expected and very good.
My only complaint: We were seated by a portable air conditioner that blew cold air at my back. I could tolerate it, but if my wife had been in my seat, we would have moved or left.
The new chef is outstanding with a really nice menu. It was an outstanding experience with great food and outstanding service by Jamie our food server. The entire staff were extremely friendly and very efficient.
Very fresh, delicious food and a mellow atmosphere
We Enjoyed excellent food and service. This place was recommended by a friend and we will go there again.
Been going there for years and have never had a complaint. Nice upscale restaurant for small town and staff very friendly.
Food was amazing. We sat outside and everyone that was leaving after the meal stopped to tell us how impressive the food is, especially being in a small town. Twelves did not disappoint. As one diner told us, "NYC, Philly, high level food!". Parsnip salad and "Twelves" bread were delicious.
Every time we dine at Twelves it’s outstanding. We celebrated Fathers Day. We just love Twelves
Twelves is one of our favorite local restaurants, yet I've never taken the time to review them...so today is the day!
Things we love about Twelves: (1) BYOB, (2) comfortable & well appointed dining room (we like to sit at the "high top" community table because it gives us a casual bar-like feel), (3) outdoor seating on their front porch, (4) varied and well priced menu, and (5) outstanding, fun, nice, attentive staff.... we love all the ladies, but Mary in particular has taken care of us for many years and is our favorite server, who we consider a friend.
Twelves changed ownership about a year ago and you always worry / hope that the same quality is retained. After a few chef changes, they brought Chef Nick onboard. He's local and had worked previously at Twelves. WOW - what a great addition. His food is thoughtfully composed and well executed!
So in summary, the food is excellent and the service / staff are outstanding! It's well worth a visit and pretty soon you'll be a regular.
So enjoyed Taco Tuesday, flavours were wonderful & chips were fantastic! Was such a lovely evening & ate outside. Such a special place, steeped in history!
We were seated immediately (with a reservation). Because we sat close to an air conditioning register, we mentioned that we were cold. That was taken care of quickly. The food was amazing, as usual. Our server was friendly, well informed, and attentive, without being interruptive. Overall and experience we look forward to repeating.
Had a great meal with West Coast visitor who was also very impressed with the service, menu snd execution of the entrees.
Twelves is our favorite restaurant! Our meals have always been done to perfection, both in creativity and great flavor. Sunday was no exception. My husband's steak and fries were delicious as was my Salmon on pesto risotto with artichoke hearts and pine nuts.
The setting inside a old bank was very unique. The fresh farm-to-table food experience was outstanding. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and funny (she loved a good story). Definitely a place to enjoy an evening meal. News tip: They will be brewing and selling their own beer in the next several months.
I was there for Mother’s Day brunch. I thought the server was very good. I got desert which was the crème brûlée, it was not good. It tasted like sweet scrambled eggs. I got 2 orders of the roast beef quesadillas to go, and there was a couple of the slices without very much meat, more onion then meat. I was surprised because my kids asked me where I wanted to go and your place was one of the first I thought of. I am not trying to be rude, I was just disappointed. I would still recommend your restaurant though. Thanks, F. Stewart
Food was amazing- the sugar cinnamon donuts were to die for and the crab benedict was excellent. Great value for what we ordered. Service was excellent as well
Our meals were delicious and all came out hot. Jamie was our server and did a fantastic job. If we lived in the area we would definitely visit again.
We haven't been to Twelves in many years, but will definitely be back. I have food allergies and they were very accommodating to me. We went with friends and really had an enjoyable time. I will be recommending Twelves to all my friends.
The food was great however the poached egg was NOT poached. The tomato soup was disappointing by three people that tried it. The strawberry shortcake..... well, that was NOT shortcake. That was not at all expected nor was it good. The "DIRT pudding", how can you screw that up, right? Well, my 14yo couldn't eat half of it because she didn't like it. Other than that the food was delicious! We had chicken salad, burger, crab cake, club sandwich and quesadilla. Our server (sorry, I forgot her name) was amazing !!
Excellent food and service! We will be back.
Amazing food, friendly staff. We have been here several times and are never disappointed!
We've loved this place in the past but were disappointed Saturday night. The mushroom soup was way too salty, according to all 4 of us, and the time between soup and entree was way too long.
Food always cooked to perfection. Service good and great BYOB
The service and food were very good. This was our second time. Had the portobella fries parm crusted chicken. Both very good. Take note that parking states 2 hours, but don't know how hard that is enforced.
Excellent food and great service!
A comfortable space in an old bank building with enough room between tables that you do not feel crowded. The server (Jamie) was attentive and helpful in explaining the menu and making us feel welcome. The food was excellent, prepared "just right" and served while hot. For dessert, the "white vanilla-grapefruit" sorbet was unusual and terrific--far exceeding our expectations. We definitely plan to return.
Under new ownership but still great food.
Food and service were very good. Ingredients were fresh and varied. Service was friendly and informative.
Appetizers and salad were all great. Especially liked the gnocchi and the scallops. Main course dishes varied in quality. Tilefish special was bland and lentils were tasteless. Grilled shrimp with grits - excellent. So was the burger. But lamb was average and not worth the money. I recommend skipping the main course and doing a dinner of small plates
Staff and food were amazing. We took our family for the first time and they LOVED it! Good portion sizes and fresh food. Wait staff were incredibly friendly and accomidating. Love going there!!
Excellent friendly service. I had lamb and it was cooked perfectly. Mashed potatoes were yummy. Only thing I would have changed was putting less salt on the green beans. Lemon ice cream topped off a great dining experience.
It's been a while since I last ate at Twelves. The food was wonderful! Service was attentive, even though the two waitresses were busy. Pleasantly surprised to see it as busy as it was on a Wednesday evening.
I'll definitely dine there again soon
Good as always.
We had not been to Twelves for quite a while due to some poor previous meals that we experienced after the original owners/chefs sold the business and left. After seeing some recent reviews that were really quite good, we decided to come back and try Twelves again. I would say that things are much better now, but not quite up to the early days. The menu is very aggressive with lots of new appetizers and entrees. However, no bread was served as before. I did try the new duck breast entree, however it was not very good in that the duck was way under-cooked and fairly small. The confit was so-so and had little going for it. I would say that the new owner and chef are worth a try and you might find just the right entree which stands out.
Always consistently good with excellent service . They have expanded their menu with nice additions
