Twelve Stones Restaurant - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Food was great, although a bit pricey for "everyday dining". The service was so slow and we had 3 servers come to our table across the meal almost like they didn't know who was serving us. To be fair, there were two large parties going on at the same time.
Nothing was bad, but the whole experience could be better for the price point. For Flower Mound, I'm sure it's a wonderful place, but Dallas is too close with many better options at a lower price. It was incredibly loud, which was a major turnoff. The food was good, but nothing special. Drinks were fine. Service was okay, but a little slow for no good reason. We won't be back.
We had a great experience. The service was very good. The staff was attentive, but did not rush. The food was delicious and the portions were a nice size. Our only issue was that once the restaurant filled up it was pretty noisy, but overall a very good dining experience. We'll definitely go again.
We went with our friends for an anniversary celebration. The food was very special, the service was impeccable. There were some screaming children that made conversation difficult. They couldn't help the weather, but the A/C was struggling to keep up with the excessive heat. I would definitely recommend it for a special occasion. It's pretty pricey for everyday dining.
My wife and I visited July 30, 2016 for our anniversary. Our 1st time to this establishment.
We were promptly greeted by the hostess and were seated at a table marked reserved for us.
Drink orders were taken and fresh bread delivered. Four choices of bread.
Our waitress was friendly, courteous and prompt all evening. She already knew that my wife had allergies to onions via the notes on their reservation system. She and the chef made sure everything she ordered was onion free. We ordered the Pan-Seared Shrimp with Avocado Grits for an appetizer recommended by her. It was awesome.
My wife order the Grilled Salmon and it was very tender. I order the Pork Chop and it was very moist and cooked to perfection. We were wished happy anniversary by the manager and our free desert brought out along with a Happy Anniversary card. This was a first.
All of the staff worked as a team and it seemed that everyone helped each other out. Very impressive. We will be going back there again in the future.
Twelve Stones was by no means bad, but in an area where there is great food on every corner, it just didn't wow me and my companions. The flank steak was good, but the fries that it came with had so much garlic on them, that it gave everyone who ate them an overwhelming kick to our palette. Wouldn't go back - but they had some unique beer on tap.
This is a great neighborhood find! The wine list and cocktails are outstanding as well as the menu! The chef is right on point with his menu items. The staff were extremely prepared and trained as well as attentive. They were knowledgeable on wine and food recommendations as well. The chocolate cake is amazing!! Can't wait to try more next time.
We have dined at 12 Stones a number of times and it never fails to delight us. The craft cocktails are fun and the food is great. Good value overall. I can't fail to mention the waitstaff. Melanie is great and Chef David is often on the floor as well. It is our go to place when we want a restaurant close by.
As good as Capital Grill, Del Frisco's, Oceanaire a Fantastic find in
Flower Mound, a 4.5 Restaurant we will be regulars.
My wife & I are always on the hunt for the Best Restaurants in the
Metroplex this is a Jewel! The Owner Chef David Knows how
to surprise your taste buds.
We had heard SO much about it, how good it was, the best in the area, etc.
Jake was great, but he unfortunately brought me the wrong salad, and the Caesar was soggy and my daughter in laws salmon was very overcooked - and we ordered it medium rare. The chicken salad was just bland, no flavor at all.
Overall we were not impressed at all. Dont know what the hoopla is about this place. But Jake Was a good waiter. LKW
Exceptional service! Love the atmosphere! Great wine selection! Awesome baked breads!
We live in Flower Mound and have been to The Twelve Stones many times. Took my parents out for an early Mother's Day dinner. My parents loved it, which is why I took them there! However, my wife and I were just slightly disappointed. Normally, we order the lamb appetizer and the filet entree (which were always delicious), but on this visit we decided to try something different. I had the scallops and my wife had the crab cakes. Both selections were good, but were missing something. For the price, it could have been even better! Wish the menu would change up a bit. A little pricey for a frequent visitor, but great for a special occasion or date night! First timers will not be disappointed.
Lively, welcoming, somewhat organic atmosphere (wood and steel.) was welcoming. Food was delicious. I cook a lot and am crazy picky. The pork chop was delicious, cooked to perfection, well seasoned but not too salty, and was flavorful. Beet and sweet potato puree were a delectable side. The shrimp and grits appetizer was tasty. The side order of garlic fries with buttermilk are a must. Crispy and tasty. Melony and Tim our servers, were friendly, knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend Twelve Stones.
We searched Travel Advisor for Flower Mound, TX. and Twelve Stones was listed # 1!
All three of us were first timers to Twelve Stones. The cuisine exceeded our expectations: 2 Steak Filets and I ordered the perfectly prepared Scallops! The steaks were tasty and prepared to the medium and medium rare requested.
Morgan, our server was a delight and she extended excellent service throughout our dinner. We had a team of employees that complimented the efforts of Morgan. Delivering food and removing plates.
The dessert list was extensive and my sister settled on the Bread Pudding. She was hesitant to share because it was so delicious!
It was difficult to select a bottle of wine: too many quality options!! We chose a bold fruity Cabernet.
Yes, we plan to be back!! Bravo to the Chef, the owner, and the staff!!

We visited Twelve Stones for the first time last Saturday night for my Wife's birthday. It was outstanding. Our server, Melany was super and they were very attentive. They even gave her a birthday card. Great service, great food, great experience. We will be back!
My fiancé and I have been to twelve stones multiple times, most recently for a special occasion. Every time the same things have happened, servers have been friendly and attentive and do a really good job at explaining what they serve in a way that's exciting. drinks have been great and served quickly, and food has been incredible. The prices are pretty high, but the experience has always been well worth the money.
My husband and I went to Twelve Stones on Tuesday evening to celebrate my birthday. There was a sign on the table that read "Happy Birthday" which was nice, however, no one at the restaurant acknowledged my birthday. My husband ordered a pasta dish with chicken. The chicken was a bit dry. I ordered the Pork Chop and it was kind of tough and a little fatty. We asked for to go boxes for most of the food and took it home to our teenage son. We paid our bill and left. We normally go to Bistecca to celebrate our birthdays. They always bring out a nice complimentary dessert for the birthday guest. This restaurant did not offer anything. This was disappointing to me since the meal was pricey. We won't be back.
Having been to this restaurant 7 or 8 times and always before being quite impressed, this visit was a bit disappointing. The menu selections seem to have diminished in imagination and taste. When spending almost $300 for a party of 3 one might expect an especially good dinner, but none of our entrees were particularly enjoyable. Our first choice wine, although still on the list was no longer available and after very good appetizers thing went downhill from there. Please return to the excellence of the past.
I searched Open Table for a well-recommended steak restaurant in the Grapevine area. When we first walked in, we were a little surprised that the surroundings looked quite casual, and the menu looked average. DO NOT let this fool you! There is a reason why Twelve Stones is well-rated!
There were 3 of us and we all ordered steaks. First came the bread waiter - try the corn muffins w/jalepeno and the flatbread. Next, our local salads had beets and feta, so good!. Two of us split a 10oz "air chilled" tenderloin, the other was a rib eye. Accompanyments are separate, but a small side of fresh greens and fresh tomato came with the entree. Can you say MOUTH-WATERING? This is one of the best steaks I've ever had! Sides were plenty to share: brussels sprouts, mushrooms and one other. When asked for a zip sauce or the like, our waitress said they don't make it, but they do have special salts, and she'd check with the chef. The chef/owner came out and offered a demi-glaze for the rib eye. It was delicious! Everything was locally sourced and indeed prepared with love. If we ever make it back this way, it's worth another meal. I'm salivating just remembering our dinner.
We dined with friends at Twelve Stones on Saturday evening. Based on the menu prices - my expectations were pretty high as they command similar prices ($36 - 6 oz. filet) to other top rated steak and seafood restaurants in the DFW area. The salads were great. My wife loved her filet. I ordered the Trout special at a suggestion of the server instead of the Salmon. The trout arrived and even in the low lighting - it looked really dry and over cooked. It wasn't flaky or moist. We had previously asked to see the manager to ask about the separate wine room - and no one ever came to see us. So no reason to complain about the fish. The trout should have never left the kitchen and the server should have known not to bring it out either. Not up for a second chance on a $130 dollar evening for two.
