In Denver right now, there is a glut of good restaurants, so if your service and your food aren't very good, you don't last long. The service was WONDERFUL and all the servers acted like a team to clear dishes, deliver silverware and plates and deliver food. This is no easy feat as we ordered 6 small dishes and the plates and silverware were cleared after every dish. We never had to wait for plates or silverware, just amazing for any restaurant. The food was very pretty, slightly under-seasoned (could just be me) and hearty - the lamb and raviolis were our favorites. A wonderful restaurant to which we will look forward to another meal!
We very much enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. The food was creative and well prepared. Small plates allowed us to share several of Chef’s creations. Wine list was varied and well priced. I would definitely return and would recommend it for others to try!!
First time experience for the four of us. Went based on 5280 rating it as one of the top 25 in Denver. The food was interesting, but certainly not the best we've had elsewhere. Mostly small/shareable plates where the focus was on "flavors" . $12-$15 for a tapas plate was a bit steep. Plan on $40 to $50 per person with one drink. The service was very good. By 6:30 it became very noisy and we gave up having a conversation and left. Certainly was a younger crowd.
I didn't realize they closed at 9 pm on Sunday, our reservation was for 7:30 pm. It was very quiet inside, we were seated and our drink order was taken. We ordered 4 menu items to start, with the intent to order 1 or 2 more. The lettuce salad was delicious. It is all small plates and it comes out one at a time. My boyfriend finished his drink and got a second, I wasn't finished with mine yet. The next two menu items came out, and we enjoyed them. They started closing stuff down, I never got another chance to order a second drink and we didn't get much attention after that last plate. We didn't feel comfortable ordering more food even though we were still hungry. We ordered dessert and left. Total we were only there 1.5 hours, we were there celebrating my birthday. We would of spent $200 or more and spent more time there, but we felt unwanted. I've had better service from lower scale restaurants. I had high hopes since it is only 2 blocks away from my house.
I would not recommend this restaurant. The service and food was average at best. We got our appetizers before we got our cocktails. Thai soup was bland and boring. The tomato tart with fried capers was on soggy tasteless bread. The menu looks great at first blush but the food is average. They are trying too hard and not meeting the mark. Food was not that warm either. On the upside, scallop special was good.
We have had dinner here a couple of times and loved it, so when friends wanted to go there with us but were only available during the day on a Sunday we decided to have brunch. It is as wonderful as the dinners are. The bread pudding French toast was particularly outstanding. We enjoyed it so much that we're taking another couple there for brunch next Sunday!
Everything we had was amazing, the flavors all blended perfectly. The prices are hard to believe. You would think you would pay twice as much for that kind of cuisine and taste.
It’s a tiny restaurant, so I hesitate to say such good things. I am afraid everyone is going to figure it out and I won’t be able to get a table anymore. But when a place does this good of a job, it shouldn’t be kept a secret.
three of us tried the congee noted by 5280, not one of us liked it. It has an off putting taste and was the only dish not completely eaten. the food was ok, but not really tasty. If I pay that much for food, I at least want it to taste good. Not a comfort food place.
The service was good and the waitperson knowledgeable. The plate was attractively decorated, but of course not filling as it is a small plate place. The salad was good also. kinda pricey for what you get.
This place had really amazing food and beverages for brunch. I loved the clean, simple decor and the wait staff was very friendly. I can't believe there wasn't a line out the door! The portions were just right for brunch and I imagine every item on the menu is fantastic.
