We were in town for the WIAA high school basketball game and went to Tutto Pasta with our two kids (ages 7 and 13) and my nephew and fiance. The atmosphere was fun, our server was great and the food was delicious!
My boyfriend loves Italian food and had never been there, so I HAD to bring him!!!
We had a great time. The food was wonderful as was the service. They overheard someone say they had to hug me because it was my birthday. At the end of the meal, I got a piece of cake and a candle in it. The server sang happy birthday to me.
Server was super, food was excellent. Also close to the Overture
The food and service was great! However, it was extremely crowded and noisy. The wait staff could barely move between tables. Our “ postage stamp” table for 2 should have been a table for one. Barely big enough to hold our entrees let alone the bread basket and drinks!
Many tasty pastas. I usually order the Norma which features eggplant.
We were seated quickly at 6:30 pm on the ground floor. Lighting was a bit bright, but ambiance was what we consider very traditional Italian decor and clean. Our waiter was very pleasant and quick to greet us and get our beverage order, and our drinks were very affordable. Surprisingly large wine menu for a less expensive restaurant like this.
We ordered one special (a lemon pasta w/ chicken) as well as the penne peperoncini for our entrees. Between the two, the peperoncini was definitely the winner; not too rich, but very flavorful. Spicy, but not overwhelming. Balanced and delicious.
Our bill was very reasonable, and although the restaurant got much busier by the time we left and our waiter got held up a bit, we had a nice two-course meal at a leisurely pace in ~1 hour and 15 minutes. Definitely recommend this solid Madison institution. Worth checking out for sure.
Good food and service. We sat upstairs and the heat was unbearable. We couldn't wait to get downstairs to the bar.
It was just okay - I expected something a little better for the price. Kind of non-descript food.
Attentive service of bland food (Chef's special) in a cramped room. Competitive pricing, great location, and excellent service compensate for an indifferent menu that may appeal to customers who recoil from authentic flavors.
We had an OK experience but don't recommend this restaurant. The food was passable but expensive for the quality. I would not plan to return here.
A pre-theater dinner with friends. I've eaten here before but my husband and the other couple hadn't so they didn't know what to expect. We all loved the whole experience. Our food server was incredible and even sang 'Happy Birthday' to my friend. <3 The food was incredible! I will definitely be back and bring new 'foodies' with.
The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. I will definitely be returning
Worst bread I have ever had at a restaurant. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. Hard to mess up pasta and the dishes were ok but uninspired. Great location if you are going to the theater but not a restaurant I would seek out just for the sake of eating there. There are so many better restaurants in the area.
Love Tutto Pasta! Great food and great place to go before Overture.
Very intimate restaurant, good for dates and celebrating special occasions.
Very accommodating to our large party of 15. Great and super friendly service and delicious food. Highly recommend
For a restaurant at a hub of activity downtown, this restaurant holds their own! It is very cozy—at times uncomfortably packed in front waiting for tables at 5-ish when there is an event about to start—but there is a charm to it. If you are on a date, make sure you get a table on main floor! The food we had was delicious (basic pasta dishes), and we want to return to try more.
Very tasty Caesar salad and descent grilled salmon. Huge Crem Brûlée less sweet than most.
You get lot of food for the price.
Waiter was a lot of fun.
I always come here when visiting Madison and have always had great service and food.
The thing I like the best was the stress free atmosphere and the laid back vibe. The service was good. The use of the old building and bar was great!
Everything was outstanding! Our only problem was that we did have to wait about 20 minutes despite having a reservation. But it was a Saturday night after a Badger football game which is always busy everywhere. Once we were seated, out waiter was quite attentive and served drinks immediately. Our food arrived promptly, which was a pleasant surprise, given the size of the crowd. All five of us ordered something different and we all truly enjoyed our meals!!! Hard to believe there was room for dessert, but we managed! Very glad we did, because the three that we chose were wonderful!! I would definitely go back!!!
I was a bit leary after the ceasar salad came and it was frozen. But, I was SO wrong!!! We had 4 different pasta dishes and all were terrific - we almost went back again the next day, it was that good!!!
Six of us older 60-80 y/o needed lunch before the opera, and had to be at the Overture Center by 1:10. Four of us arrived at 11:45 and the other two coming from Milwaukee at Noon. Service was efficient and friendly and we were ready to leave by 1pm. Food, overall was more than satisfactory, though nothing remarkable. Salads were great, pasta dishes were ample. One in the party had a mozzarella panini. She said that the bread was excellent, but the rest lacked much flavor. The whole experience was extremely pleasant except for the loud speaker that was above our table. We'll go again.
Brought our granddaughter for a delicious meal on our visit to campus . We all had enough for leftovers. Great service, fantastic meal and fun atmosphere. We stuffed in some dessert because it looked fantastic & it was. Glad we chose your restaurant.
My daughter loves this place and asked us to take her there for her birthday. The meal was great and the wait staff were super attentive.
Busy college town place but with Open Table we were seated immediately and service was fast friendly and the food was great! Unique takes on classic Italian food, good portions and really satisfying. We will come back next time we visit campus.
Freakiest added to the noise level, but also made it fun. Love Tutto Pasra!
Went here prior to a Badger Hockey game, used Open Table and had a table so no wait. Service was good and fast and food was excellent and enough for leftovers.
Best Italian food, sangria, great service, quick & reasonable.
Lauren was an amazing waitress! Very accommodating and seems to love what she does. Nice!
Love this place. Love the penne vodka pasta! I come here every time I'm in Madison.
Definitely some changes since the last time I was there a couple years ago. Overall food was still tasty. Music was much too loud and top 40ish, though it was turned down upon request.
Made reservations here for a friend's birthday- she loved it! Our waiter was extremely nice, the food came out quickly, and the food was delicious and very filling. Price is pretty standard. The waiter even brought out a cake for her and we got to sing! I definitely recommend this place.
Very good meal as usual...Superior service...Top notch all around!
Service was prompt and polite, and the food was good. The servers stopped by very often, a bit too much so.
This is my third time eating here and the food as amazing!!!
This is a busy, bustling italian restaurant. We really enjoyed the appetizer platter, suitable for 2 people. The bread was not very good. However, the fettuccini alfredo was flavorful. I had the pasta w/eggplant and mozzarella, which had a good taste, but the sauce did not taste fresh. Overall the food was pretty good, it just didn't taste as fresh as I had expected.
There are a lot of tables crammed into a small space, so it is a little hard to get around.
Trying to hard to fit as many people as they can. Both meals tasted basically the same.
