Tuscarora Mill Ratings and Reviews
We went there with our son's family (5-three children) to celebrate 3 family birthdays. Got in just in time to enjoy the brunch, which was excellent. The back room where we were seated was a little noisy because it was packed when we got there, and there were a few people who had imbibed more than they should. As soon as those left it quieted down significantly. The service was excellent and so was the food. Thank you Tuscarora for a pleasant Sunday afternoon.
We enjoy the brunch on Sundays at Tuskies. It’s nice to have the buffet (although you can order off the regular lunch menu) and a few brunch cocktails, and then head off to one of the many wineries in close proximity. The staff is very friendly and there is a pleasant ambience. Our only complaint would be we wish there was some cheese to go with the charcuterie on the buffet! The bread pudding is to die for.
We have had many very good lunches and dinners at Tuskies over the last 20 years or so. We moved further away so we had not been there for a while. We noticed that there has been a big emphasis on customer service since we were last there. Everyone was very helpful. We enjoyed drinks and the spinach artichoke appetizer in the bar area, as we had arrived very early. No complaints there. When we were seated, we were very pleased with our server, who, though-out the time we were there, was attentive and prompt in taking care of us. My husband had the chowder, and I had the salad, both of which were great. We both ordered the special which was a 16 oz veal chop. Unfortunately there were some problems with these, which were $42 per plate. We both asked for them to be cooked medium - they were definitely rare and not warm at all. In addition the meat was not as tender as it should be (should practically melt in your mouth based on what we have had a comparable places) and there was a lot of fat on it. You may ask why we didn't complain, but we have heard so many stories of kitchen staff retaliating for complaints that we were reluctant to do so. Our style is to either not return, or if returning, order something that would not have the same result. We were quite disappointed not only because of being let down, but also because these were expensive entrees.
Lovely, lovely dinner with a friend visiting from out of town. Impeccable friendly service from Megan, the fried oysters are heavenly. Tuskie's never lets you down. Perfect martinis, affordable but great wine list, manageable menu, delightful patrons. What's not to like?
My husband and I went to dinner here for our anniversary. They personalized the menu for us to say Happy Anniversary Mr. And Mrs. Price. They sat us in a quiet booth sort of away from the rest of the customers which was nice. Our waitress was excellent. The food was amazing. We had the lobster tail appetizer, the filet and crab cakes as our entrees and the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. They gave us the personalized menus and rolled them up and put them in two wine glasses filled with candy for us to take home. This was a really nice touch to top off great service and excellent food. We will definitely be going back!
We decided to try this restaurant to bid farewell to our good friends who will be relocating out of state- the restaurant was nicely decorated for the Holiday season. Our waiter was very helpful, had a great sense of humor. The Korean themed pork belly taco appetizer was delicious, as were the fried oysters. Our friends had the duck dish which was reported to be 'the best duck.' The shrimp and grits were worht the drive to this place! They have a very good selection of beers as well as a great wine list. Did not try any cocktails, but the list looked yummy! Would definitely recommend this 'gem' to anyone who is out and about in the Leesburg, VA, area.
Wow. Tuskies hits it out of the park again! This was the best food I've had all year. The second best food was also at Tuskies back in March. We dined in the "Garden" room. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The drinks had a good pour in them, but not overbearing. The appetizer favorite for the table were the Chesapeake Fried Oysters. The main course favorite was the Duck entree. I had the best Venison steak I've had in years. Everything was perfectly cooked, you could see the difference in a medium rare vs a medium. For a special occasion where you are willing to drop a few bucks (ha! cause I ate venison), this is the place you want to go.
Food and service were great. We had told them it was our anniversary when making the reservations, and they went out of their way to make it a special evening for us. Table was tucked out of the busy areas, menus had our names and good wishes, gave us complimentary glasses when we left. Lots of nice special touches.
We have been here before and have always been pleased. However, this time was so much better because our waiter Mark was amazing. The extras he provides are greatly appreciated. He recommended a great wine and he kept our coffee filled at the end of the dinner. Food here is always good, as is the ambiance. Mark makes it better!
