Tuscarora Mill Ratings and Reviews
I went here for my wife’s birthday dinner. I made a reservation on opentable 2 hours prior to my dinner time. We got to the restaurant and found parking in front of building. We waited 15 minutes past our reservation time. Finally seated and the wait staff was very attentive to my wife and my 5 year old son. My family enjoyed the fresh bread! My wife and I shared dozen fresh oysters that they Individual plates. Delicious . My son got a fresh fruit cup which he loved along with the chicken tenders, fresh broccoli and French fries. My wife ordered and loved the shrimp and grits. Best we every had ! I ordered the grilled beef and scallops. Very good scallops and tender beef... vegetables were very fresh and tender . For dessert we split the berry cobbler . Everything was so excellent and would highly recommend this to anyone but be will to spend a little more if you buy alcohol . Best mojito I ever had and wide range of wines to choose from.
I've been a happy customer of Tuskie's for over 25 years. I have celebrated many, many things at this fine establishment and they never, ever let us down. I was lucky enough to celebrate my mothers 82nd birthday there on Sunday and it was to date, the most memorable date I've ever had there. They were overly accommodating to me and my mother, and made her feel so special. We got the table she loves, they fussed over her, she had everything she could have wanted and so much more. Marco made the perfect wine selection for us for dinner, and we laughed, shared memories and held hands. The staff at Tuskie's is amazing, the service is always perfection and Jair made the evening very special for us. The food as always, was very good, but I'll stop there. It was not great, it was very good. There were shells in our oysters (sloppy opening), and my monkfish was a little overcooked (not sure how you overcook monkfish....) Again, very good, but not great. I used to live in town and was there every week, but now that I don't live in town, Tuskie's is a special trip and treat for us. I'll continue to go back again and again for the staff, the service and yes, the food. Thank you for making my mom's birthday so special!
I took my wife here for our 2018 Valentine's dinner, and we absolutely loved it. The music, the setting, the staff, the food.. everything was perfect. They really take quality serious here at Tuscarora Mill. I highly recommend this location to anyone visiting the area!
Was there for Valentine's Day dinner 2018.
Have been to the restaurant many times over the years, but this was Not a memorable night.
The food was... good...not great. The recommended wine was OK...my husband thought I should Not have accepted the bottle...too light and did not match my request. The desserts were not good. Period. You can do much better! The dinner, overall, felt rushed-- yet, it was not crowded at our reservation time of 7:45pm. I have always enjoyed this restaurant- but not on this night.
Even though Valentines Day is generally a day to avoid dining out, Tuskies is always able to handle the occasion well. We were seated in the wine celler area on the lower level of the restaurant. The room was beautifully decorated and the tables were arranged so that there was quite a bit of space between them, which enabled quiet conversation. Our waiter was charming and provided quick service. The food, as usual, was outstanding. And Tuskies has the best wine selection in town, curated by sommelier Marco, and still has one of the best beer lists in town. Whether you want to go out for a special occasion, impress a business client or just have a good time with friends you can't do better than Tuskies.
After checking around for a good brunch place in Leesburg for my daughter’s birthday, reviews steered me to Tuscarora Mill. Not sure I would do so again. Got to the restaurant and were given one menu. Waiter steered us to the buffet, and I’m convinced it was because he didn’t want to work hard. Food was good, but nothing to write home about. Definitely felt like we were being rushed as when our waiter did show up, he was clearing plates before we could set down our forks. All in all, Tuscarora Mill May be good for some, but for us, it rated an ‘eh’.
We went to Tuscarora Mill for my birthday and it was excellent! Everyone in the party chose a different meal and everyone’s plates were clean at the end of the meal! The atmosphere was great! It would be great for date night or any special occasion. We will definitely be going back!
Surprisingly disappointed with our experience. The service staff was phenomenal (as always) but try as they may, could not make up for the less than adequate meal. Not sure if the chef has changed but overall, the food was over cooked, heavily salted and resembled more of a cooking class experiment rather than a chefs dining creation that we are accustomed to at Tuscarora Mill. Hopefully this was an anomaly.
Very disappointing! We have always heard how good TM was, and finally made our way out to try it. My scallops were overdone and exceedingly salty and my husband described his dinner as “ bad wedding food”. On a positive note, our server was great :) She was very accommodating. However, we will not be returning.
On Friday night the restaurant was busy, with a cheerful ambiance. The food and service were both fine; we enjoyed our meal and will return in the future. That said, my husband and I both thought our entrees were not quite as good as we had remembered them from past visits.
Met with friends to catch up after twenty years. We hit it on a rain and sleet-filled day so the restaurant was not overly busy. It actually worked out great for us to catch up. The buffet offered tons of variety and was continually refreshed. Our waiter was attentive but not intrusive. Overall, a great experience.
At request of my brother who was going to be celebrating his 55th birthday, my wife and I made a 6pm reservation for Saturday Feb 3rd. It was my second time to "Tuskies" (since 2010) and 1st time for my wife and brother. We arrived a few minutes before 6:00 and were immediately seated in the back room next to the fireplace, which was great given the cold weather outside.
Amongst our choices, I decided to order different items compared to my 2010 visit. We were very happy with the Rockfish special, as well as the Grilled Beef and Seared Scallops, and Braised Lamb Shank entrees. The bowl of broccoli and cheddar soup as well as the crab and artichoke dip were great starters to the meal as well.
Overall, the service was very good given how crowded it was that evening. The food was great! And the noise level was low. A great experience by all three of us to celebrate his birthday.
A group of four of us met here this past Sunday for brunch. I am not ordinarily a buffet person, but thought the choices looked too good to pass up! Good decision too!
For starters, there were beautiful platters of fresh, grilled vegetables; sauteed mushrooms; artichoke and hearts of palm salad; smoked salmon; mussels; boiled shrimp bites. Other choices included french toast, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, fried chicken, grilled flank steak, a variety of desserts and breads. There was something for everyone. The food was very good.
The atmosphere was comfortable with efficient service. There is also a regular menu to order from should you elect to not do the buffet. All in all, a very good experience!
