Tuscany - Wheeling Ratings and Reviews
Excellent food, excellent service! Great place. My date and I had a wonderful waitress who tactfully allowed us to talk while we sipped at our wine until we were ready to order. All the while, the waitress would check in every so often. The food was sensational! My date and I stayed way past the closing time and no one kicked us out. Overall, this is a 10-star restaurant.
A table of six in the side room, only one server for the entire room. Half hour before she even asked about drinks. I dunno if she chose to wait on the whole room by herself ; if she did, she could’ve at least smiled every once in a while. If she didn’t ask to serve the side room by herself, then management should’ve staffed appropriately, especially it being Valentine’s Day. I enjoyed the calamari fritti and the grilled octopus, and for the main course I had the branzino con macadamia with butternut squash and asparagus and a side of spaghetti. I enjoyed my dinner, but my husband ordered the same dish and thought it was over cooked and had the texture of perch. I guess I don’t know the difference because the texture was fine to me! I intend to try the Restaurant one more time, but hubby has already decided against coming back. I’m sure on a quieter day it would be lovely there!
Busy night so it was fairly loud but that’s to be expected and was not a big deal.
The duck on the specials menu was spot on - they used to have brick chicken which I heard, on the way out, that they can still make ..... guess I’ll be coming back.
The restaurant was unbelievably crowded. We were seated about 20 minutes after our reservation time. Once we were seated, we had excellent service even though our server seemed to be doing the 400-meter dash at all times. He was attentive and helpful. The food was very good, with the crushed garlic being the usual hit of the meal.
Had not been to Tuscany in Wheeling for many years. Enjoyed dinner with my wife. Service was excellent food very good. My wife enjoyed the minestrone soup and seafood special. I had veal and a Caesar salad. Portions were generous. Excellent desert selection. Not inexpensive but felt it was a value for the quality and service.
My wife and I had a late dinner then celebrated New Years Eve at Tuscany at a table on the bar area. The place was jumping and there was a great band providing entertainment. We started out with a glass of chianti. For an appetizer we ordered thinly sliced and marinated beets(bietolli) which came with a small amount of salad and small tomatoes and flatbreads. For the entree we each had fettuccine marinara which was great. Complimentary champagne, noise makers and hats were provided to celebrate at the stroke of midnight. It was a wonderful moment seeing all of the people enjoying themselves and celebrating 2018. We have never had a bad meal at Tuscany in Wheeling and we go there on a regular basis. It truly is a neighborhood gem!
We went on. Ew Years Eve. That was a little loud. And they were busy so things were running behind. Overall though, excellent! The food was great. And we were very pleased. We will be returning and next time with our kids. Highly recommend experiencing it for yourself.
We dined at Tuscany on New Year's Eve for an early dinner. The restaurant was packed as it is every holiday but they managed the patrons well. They decorated both tastefully and fun and they had live music which added to the ambiance of this upscale restaurant. We ordered caesar salad which was large but a little lacking in taste on this occasion. We tried not to fill up too much on the crusty bread with roasted garlic mixed at the table but it was difficult. Our entrees of staples, eggplant parmesan and veal scallopini were outstanding and were accompanied with perfectly cooked pasta. We didn't leave any room for dessert but saw some beautiful looking pastries sail by us and have sampled the delicious items previously. We are return customers.
Dined on New Year's Eve. Normally our experience at Tuscany has been great.
This experience on New Year's Eve was not so great. We felt that we were rushed through dinner; seemed as if staff was told to move quickly because table turnover was of utmost importance. Hopefully this can be attributed to the holiday but for the prices charged for food and drink at Tuscany one shouldn't be made to feel like we were on a table clock to finish our meal.
