Tuscany Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Well... The reservations I'd made hadn't shown up and the young hostesses didn't seem to be all that happy to see us. So-so table. Leaves lying on the carpet by the door most of the time we were there. Good wine and food. Fortunately, sweet, affable, warm waitress-- she saved the night. Probably late 40s, blonde, pretty, works in a real estate office during the day. BIG benefit to the restaurant.
I will try to be kind in this review. When seated a fly buzzed our table. We told the server this fly if persisted would ruin our meal. She hesitated and and did not have an answer for us. I felt she wanted to say there's nothing I can do about it. Alas, didn't say it and ask another person to try and eradicate the fly. It came back! My shellfish were over cooked and chewy. The marinara sauce was barely visible on my plate. My pasta was chewy and gooey. Two of my mussels still had beards. The house chianti was good. The basil bread and I think basil butter was quite good. The chicken picatta was almost too sour to eat. No one finished their meal. We did not stay for dessert. Very disappointed.
Food was very nice. Service was mediocre. Waitress was not very attentive and not very well informed. We had to keep asking for things as simple as more water. During dessert, I asked if we could have more coffee. She returned to refill my cup but left my wife high and dry without asking if she would like more. She was clearly not trained at wine service and etiquette. The restaurant seemed a bit run down. We were seated near the bussing station. The chatter among the wait staff was rather annoying and at times offensive.
I took my boyfriend here for dinner while we were spending a romantic weekend in Evergreen for Valentine's day. We spent hours savoring every bit of our meals. The entire menu is delicious, you cannot go wrong. My boyfriend highly recommends the crab cakes - a surprising menu item in the middle of a mountain town. We will certainly be back, and be recommending Tuscan Tavern to many friends!
We get to Tuscany as frequently as possible. You are always guaranteed with good friends (including the owner and staff) and great food! We love taking clients there that are new to our area to experience our very friendly and welcoming area.

We just had an absolutely fantastic dinner at Tuscany Tavern from the time we stepped through the door until we left.
First, although we were a half-hour early for our reservation, we were seated right away, even though we were prepared to just have a glass of wine in their bar while we waited. We were greeted by our server, Liz, who was one of the best servers we have ever had. She was pleasant and friendly, and, miracles of miracles, she was able to recommend a wine (Villa Antonori Bianco) that was perfect for our seafood entrees -- absolutely declicious, light and fresh. My husband had crab cakes and I had the seafood fetuccine (sans mussels), after having the calamari appetizer. All were cooked to perfection. This was after a perfect salad and perfect Tuscan HOT bread (as much as we liked). Dinner was followed by HEAVENLY rich chocolate cake (enough for four people!) and very good coffee. The portions were just right, although because of the salad, bread, and appetizers, we took home enough for a whole other meal. AND the whole meal came to less than $85.00 for two people, excluding tip! We have paid three times as much for a meal that we did not enjoy nearly as much.
The only VERY minor quibbles were that we had a Chianti with the appetizer that was too earthy for our palates (but that was not anyone's fault, of course), and the food was a little rushed -- the salad came before we were quite finished with our appetizer (but almost), and same thing with the entree after the salad. But, overall, these are really insignificant quibbles.
I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant, and we definitely will return!
I met two friends here for lunch. It's in sort of an odd space...lower level...can't see the sign from the street, but someone had clued me in to that issue. I had the pizza which was advertised as "thin crust" but it was not---had a good taste but just wasn't what I'd wanted. Another friend had the eggplant and she said it was wonderful. I'd definitely go back, esp. in summer when you can sit outside and enjoy the views (which you can't see too well from inside)---I'd just order something different.
We passed by the Tuscany Tavern countless times without stopping but boy am I glad we decided to give it a try. Great atmosphere and décor and the menu is extensive with lots of great options. Everything we ordered was fantastic and well-presented. The salads fresh and the dishes perfectly portioned. I was a little disappointed in the wines offered by the glass but found a great gem in a Sangiovese that came recommended by the bartender.
Anyone wanting great Italian food in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere should check out the Tuscan Tavern in Evergreen.
Last 2 times there, the service was VERY SLOW. We had children with us both times & asked to get them served first. Didn't happen. Took over 45 minutes to get our entrees. Server lacked knowledge or didn't care.
I would like to continue going there; however, I will not with bad service.
I have had lunch several times at Tuscany Tavern, and have always been impressed. However, my recent dinner there was disappointing. I ordered a caesar salad with grilled chicken. Although the serving size was generous, it was as if they forgot to add dressing. Very bland. A couple of my companions were similarly unimpressed with their Tuscany salads. Our waitress was excellent and very professional.
The Tuscany tavern was a pleasant place, especially the outdoor seating. A very long wait for the food, which is ok, except that when it came, it was a surprisingly rrreeeallly small portion. Do note,my date and I are not large people/eaters so this is not a matter related to the current obesity crisis. It almost seemed like they ran out and just gave us what they could scrape out of the bottom of the pan and maybe off of a few peoples leftovers. (It was still kinda early tho for them to run out) SO we found this very odd and it may impact whether or not we return.
My husband is a lasagne fan..said his was good but the portion was small for a pasta dish. One person ordered a dinner salad with no onion and it was loaded with onion. Water glasses weren't filled ..had to ask for more of the excellent bread..this was a party of 6. Server was pleasant but not attentive. We had noted that it was my husband's Birthday in the reservation and I had to remind the server..why bother asking in the reservation if it's ignored. It's a lovely place and has a wonderfully varied menu..I would go again..had a great steak..but am writing this to help them improve not just to be critical.
We came to celebrate a birthday and I was embarassed. Booked on open table, but they didn't seem to know about the reservation when we arrived. The service was good and the fresh bread is good, but all the entrees were marginal at best. Salads were small. Veal Piccata was tough and dry with pasta that was chewy and bland. Stuffed shells were dry (not enough sauce) and meager. This is really a bar that is trying to place itself as a restaurant and prices reflect that but quality does not. Maybe the pizzas and burgers are ok but don't go to Tuscany Tavern for a dining experience.
