Tuscany Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I went to Tuscany on a Sunday evening to celebrate valentines. The restaurant is beautiful, classy and elegant. We were sifted close to a warm fireplace which made the evening even more special. The Christmas lights on the trees make the restaurant look magical. The server was nice and proper, his name wa David. The food was delicious. We had meatballs for appetizers. My husband had the Italian raspberry soda and I had a delicious chamomile tea with honey. I ordered chicken piccata, the lemon saucy was delicious. My husband had a lasagna and he really enjoyed it. For dessert my husband had rum cake and I had creme brûlée, both were delicious. I would definitely come back for the holidays or in spring to sit outside in the beautiful patio. I had a great dining experience.
Wonderful service. Large portions, but felt outdated. $13 for "jumbo prawns" was really disappointing - served 4 pieces of basic shrimp hanging on a martini glass. Seemed like if they refreshed their menu and didn't smother everything with glaze or sauce, they would definitely get more of our business. Patio looked beautiful so we'll probably go back when it's warm and give them another shot.
Pretty good in the slightly cheaper fine dinning world. The food was excellent (which to me is the most important part), but the service left a little to be desired. The waiter was very knowledgeable about he menu, but he was slow to get to our table, which was disappointing especially as we were dinning early and there were few people in the restaurant. The bussers would be fine in a Chilies, but definitely not what I would call fine dinning level. They were noisy, did not keep our drinks full, and slow to clear the table. As far as atmosphere I have to say I find it a bit cheesy. I know I'm being picky here, but the fake vines going up the walls are just a bit to much. Overall I was most happy with the food and the prices, which to me is the most important part anyway.
Went on Valentine's day. Service was just a bit off, I know they were busy, but it was not quite up to usual Tuscan standards. Dessert was a bit of a miss. Neither option was great, but the lemon cake was better than the macaroon. The rest of the food was excellent. Ambiance, as always, was fantastic.
Had reservations for two at 7 pm. Getting into the parking lot was a nightmare. Not enough valets for the crowds of people leaving and arriving. Waited 20 minutes to be seated. Our waiter was fine but we felt really rushed as they delivered our main course without giving us time to enjoy our first course. Food was not exceptional - especially given the steep price. Won’t be returning.
We had dinner there at 7 pm on Super Bowl Sunday. There was one other group seated in the room we were in when we were seated. They left before we ordered. I think at that point we were the only customers in the restaurant. The food was great. Service was excellent. I think that may have been due to having no other customers.
The evening was mostly really nice . From the valet , the hostess, to our waiter . The ambiance was really nice also . My wife enjoyed being sat by the fire place . Everyone was really nice.
The food had a great taste throughout the meal also . Two things though did surprise me . 1st the size of the swordfish . Very small ! 2nd was the price for what you got. Thanks
I had the sausage rigatoni for the first time. Delicious! With chunks of sausage, pecans, mushrooms in a white sauce. I will order this again. My husband got his favorite: roast chicken served atop roasted sweet potatoes and spinach. We both brought leftovers home. I almost forgot the bread made at Tuscany. Wonderful. We also shared a salad. Pages of wine for everyone's favorite selection.
This review pains me. Severely. I've wanted to visit Tuscany for over a year now and felt it was a great opportunity New Year's Eve.
The food was sub-par (for the cost). It was certainly not worth the $75/each for the pre-selected menu.
Here's what we ordered.
Course 1 - Shrimp Cocktail (it wasn't anything special). Not getting off on a good foot here.
Course 2 - Lobster Chowder. Eh. It wasn't bad by any means but it just wasn't great.
Course 3 - I had the Sashimi Scallaps and Chris the NY Strip. I wasn't blown away in a way I had thought the main dish would deliver. The NY Strip wasn't better than the steak we had last week at home. Chris really did like it though.
Course 4 - Champagne Cremé Brulee with an orange zest cookie. This was actually pretty good!!
I had a Cacciata Red Wine while Chris had a Red Shiraz. I loved my wine and he, his.
Review overview... way over priced. We'd never go back unless there was a menu overhaul. For a $$$ (yelp) price point it over promises and under delivers.
Good service, not a remarkable palatable menu.
Sad, so very sad
We live in the area and enjoy going to Touscany on special occasions. Our very most favorite menu item has been the pork chop. However, this visit we were disappointed. One member of the group who ordered it felt it had gristle. My husband and I were not fond of the sauce that was used to compliment it.
All in all, the experience was quite fine. We always rave about the bread. :-)
I have always enjoyed dining at Tuscany. The oysters asiago are always prepared with fresh ingredients and so delicious. The beef carpaccio is seasoned to perfection and the parmesan and arugula a nice compliment. We tried the meatballs and melted brie appetizer as well and enjoyed those thoroughly as well. Our server was Don who always provides excellent service and so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Tuscany provides an elegant atmosphere with ambiance to spare. I usually order the pork chop which is consistently flavorful and prepared perfectly. The banana tart/pie with a brule topping and coconut crust is one of the best pastries I've ever had. Going to Tuscany is a fun splurge and worth repeat visits. Their crusty bread bears mention as well. It is so good with oil and balsamic or as an accompaniment.
