Met with friends for the Sunday Brunch with unlimited Mimosa. Band was playing jazz which was very good. All our food was exceptional and different from most menus. I would most definitely recommend this place for anyone seeking a great spot to have a meal.
The food and service was amazing. Absolutely enjoyed the Jazz Band playing in the background. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Excellent service and very good food. Will visit again.
Tuscany is fast becoming one of my favorite "go to" restaurants. I live approximately 10 miles in Oceanside, but am happy to make the journey . Food is excellent. The bartender Howie along with servers like Moses really round out the dining experience. .. cool personalities. They have the touch for making guests feel welcome and important.
Our food was good but the service was not . We had to ask for fresh ground pepper on our salads, the waiter forgot to bring the wine (we ordered by the glass) and was just not friendly. It did not make for a good experience.
The place was fanatic. Service was also outstanding. The food was delicious and a great wine selection. I'd recommend that anyone in north san diego county stop there for done.
Delicious food and friendly, impeccable service. We can always depend on a great meal, that's we have been loyal customers for years and are never disappointed.
Started out positive - atmosphere appeared nice and waiter seemed great. Then, no prosecco - at an Italian restaurant even though on the menu? Knowing they didnt have any, they could have walked across the parking lot to purchase some. Appetizer was great! Next, they were out of the Braised Short Ribs- my favorite. As the restaurant started to fill, service became extremely slow and incomplete. The reason was clear - no additional waiters so he was swamped. One couple gave up and left. Maybe it was a bad night and we will try one more time next week.
The best! I mean THE B E S T!!!
Very noisy. waiter was out of menus. took 10 min to get menus. another 10 minutes to get a drink order in. Waiters were very busy and didnt pay any attention toour table
Disappointed that they no longer participate in the Passport International Dining card.
I don't think we will be going back if we can't use the card.
The service was so amazing!!
Great service wonderful wine list and a lovely experience.
Delicious food, attentive service, nice ambience -- will go again.
Wasn't very impressed. Food was ok. Wish Jazz would've been better too. We've been to Spaghettini in Seal Beach and I guess were expecting a similar experience. Probably won't be coming back... :/
Our waiter was a bit lacking in personality and etiquette - this made our experience less than stellar.
The food was tasty - we both had variations on the egg benedict, with my husband having the salmon version and the caprese version for myself, both of which were bread-less...and we both agreed bread/english muffins are needed in a benedict!
Mimosas were great and were indeed bottomless...yet seemed to become more orange juice than champagne with each pour!
Their brunch is great. The Omelette I had was one of the best I have ever eaten! Nice jazz background music.
I will not go back, I am a local and have been going to Tuscanies for the last 15 plus years and Valentine's Day was my last time. The new owner ( 2 years) does not know how to run a restaurant. I thought I would give them one more chance and it was the worst experience . My wife and I checked in with the hostess , went to have a drink at the bar and She told me she would come get us and did not I went to her for the third time she said she could seat us in the back room but there would be a cover charge for the special music. Our waitress did not even know how to cork the wine, food was bland and the special music was not that special. Sorry Tuscany owner if you bought the restaurant to have a place to sing and play your music than at least hire a manager that understands and knows how to run a restaurant.
Wow, first it's Valentine's day, want to have nice dinner with wife to also celebrate our anniversary to be told we couldn't sit in a booth we asked for, was reserved for larger parties and see the next few couples seated in booths. After waiting 30 minutes for our meal to have the waitress ask what we had ordered as she threw away our order by mistake. Approximately 50 minutes later our food arrived.
At least the food and the live jazz was good. Wish I could say the same for our host, Sharon - lady in red, and waitress, Jennel.
Need to advise the band guitarist to lower his voice when asking the waitress to slow down the delivery of the meals to ensure the guest get a full session. So were they in cahoots?
Here it is the end of our dinner and what do we observe but only couple's filling all the tables...what happened to those four or more parties? Come on Tuscany, when you offer your guests a more romantic dinning area for an additional $5 you would only be expecting "couples."
But honestly, Tuscany food is well worth the visit and the additional romantic ambiance did result in an enjoyable dinner. (My wife laughed at my review : ) )
Service was excellent. We had a big group and there were no errors. Everyone's food came at the same time. Food was average. Noise level was high but to be expected given busy brunch day. Live music never disappoints! Very impressive caliber performances!
Very poor food quality. Will not recommend it to anyone.
Great place, the menu is great, service is very slow. We waited over 50 minutes to get dinner. We made reservations and noted it was a special evening.
Our prawn salad was light and tangy with delicious bitter arugula. The eggplant tortino and ravioli was equally delicious. Definitely coming back!
We decided to try this restaurant again with an early dinner reservation. We were 2 women and there was no one in the dining area when we arrived. Immediately we were seated at a tiny table in the back. When asked to move were moved to a tiny table in the middle. This is yet another case of hostesses seating 2 women in the less desirable spots, even when the place is empty. The server was good but felt the menu was pricey for what you get. i ordered the Chicken Piccatta. The plate had two "hammered" pieces of very thin chicken hiding in a bunch of pasta. this dish was over $20 and just not worth it. My friend got the salmon , which was very good, and a much better buy.
Probably won't go back because there are several Italian places nearby that have good food, as well as being more moderately prices. Lively bar scene, though, so maybe just good for that.
We love a long time (15+ years) friendship with a waiter and friend, Pino, who works there. He is a gem and a long time family friend. We did not get one of his tables. The service and food was absolutely horrible. We made a reservation, but they wanted to seat us at a high-top in the bar area. The restaurant was maybe 25% occupied when we showed. Had to drop Pino's name just to get a reasonable (but small) table. Ordered pre-dinner drinks 3 times before they showed up 25 minutes later. (not busy at the time). Waiter came back twice as he forgot what we ordered for dinner. Manager asked how it was going before our drinks arrived. Told her we ordered drinks 3 times starting 25 minutes ago and were still waiting. She said at least you have your red wine. I told her that was because I brought my own bottle in. Paid the $20 corkage fee and poured our own glasses the entire evening. (Pino caught that in passing and stopped by to decant the rest of the bottle) That was the only good thing about the experience. They could not bring matching wine glasses. They never checked on the table after the soggy salad and entrees were served. My lasagna was so over-cooked that I could not cut it with a knife, let alone chew it. When our waiter finally showed up again, over 30 minutes later, he asked if I wanted a to-go box, as nothing was eaten. I told him no, as the food was so bad I could not eat it there let alone anywhere else. He said "OK, I won't bring you a box then".
I used to recommend this restaurant a few years ago. Now I RECOMMEND staying clear. Might be an OK place for drinks, but eat before you go. I am an executive who travels a lot and dines at great restaurants. I understand the process and am known as a generous tipper and a polite person. The point is that I know the difference ina good and whatever label you put on this experience. I tipped out of pity as the waiter could not figure out if it were his 1st or 2nd night on the job.
Entrees were decent, but the tomato in the mozzarella caprese wasn't ripe at all. Also, the bread they brought out was about as cheap as you could find. It was dull, cold, and chewy. The butter that came with it was almost frozen. It was impossible to even spread it on the bread. There was mass confusion at the front with the hostesses when we came in. It wasn't busy, yet they were having a hard time with trying to seat just a few of us.
We had been wanting to try this place for a while, but are disappointed now that we did. Entrees were good, but not so much that we will come back. We went on New Year's Eve and they had a special menu which didn't appear to even offer half the choices of their regular menu.
When we arrived we were greeted nicely and put at our table. 10 minutes later someone came to ask if we wanted a drink.I was about to go ask if there was a waiter. There were 11 occupied tables and only one waiter. This was not his fault..he was overloaded. He was so rushed he never gave the specials and just wanted to move on to the next table. The food was good and the entrees were as expected but we felt like we were just eating out. No care for service. I mean really...during the holidays people do entertain and to have only one waiter at 6:30 pm is nuts.
I saw annoyed people around us who wanted their check but none to be had. Tuscany a long time ago had the best service of any restaurant in No. County. They did not seem to try...it was not the special night out we thought we would have.
The food and service was excellent but the early evening noise level kept the meal and the evening from being romantic.
We took family visiting from out of town for the Jazz Brunch. There was no jazz! What a scam. The food was good, but I expected a different setting. Also, we bought the prepaid Living Social voucher. I couldn't believe 3 coffee's cost $16.00.
Pleasant Brunch, no buffet, great selection '
The food was good, excellent presentation and care taken to provide attractive dishes. There was live music, which we really enjoyed. It was a little quieter in the back of the restaurant, so we could still talk, but quite loud by the bar. We will go back.
There were three of us who had lunch here Monday. We were seated immediately at a great table and offered menus. Our server was very attentive and took our orders quickly. The food took quite a long time to come out and we had to ask for bread twice. Waters and iced teas were kept filled up. The food was wonderful and tasty. It was a very nice venue for a quiet lunch with very good food and good friends. This is the first time I have been there for lunch in quite some time and I was very happy with the exciting menu offering so many different choices. We will definitely be back. Glad the food has improved over the last time we were there in the evening.
Arrived on time for check in for brunch, only to find no tables were left and told everyone had a reservation. After informing the hostess I had also placed a reservation via OpenTable a month prior, I was given a blank look and the response was confusing, but nothing was really offered. I was going no to have to wait as though I hadn't made a reservation. Essentially, they were overbooked and never checked OpenTable. We were offered the bar, and took it instead of waiting for something else.
The music was okay, but nothing really worth going back for. The food wasn't anything spectacular either.
We won't be returning.
Tuscany used to be higher end, but the food for brunch was limited and only okay. The hostess seemed to be completely at sea about her job and how it works. Jazz brunch is nice idea, but for a small place the music was so loud you had to yell to hear others. I don't need to go back.
The comedy was good, food was just OK, the service could have been better. They only had one server for the comedy room, so she was overloaded. They tried to tax our comedy tickets along with the food. Overall, the restaurant is poorly run. Neat place, just wish it was better.
We enjoyed the food and service. The price is a little high.
Convenient to home. Expected a small jazz band rather than a pianist since it is billed as a Sunday Jazz Brunch.
They did not have a table for us even though we had a reservation and we had to sit in the bar. Also, they did honor the full value of a local deal.
Bought the TravelZoo deal for Sunday Brunch. Great food, service, ambiance and the jazz was excellent. I would come back again and highly recommend to friends.
I've been to Tuscany's many times over the years - I am definitely not a "regular", but living in close proximity always made it s potential choice for dining, music, events...I'd never be there for their jazz brunch, however, so upon receiving a "heads up" through a local discount voucher I figured it would be the perfect time to give it a chance. The room was inviting, we were welcomed earlier than our reservation...off to a good start. However, it seemed once the waiter was aware that we had a voucher, things took a turn. I am not a mimosa drinker but as a server from LONG ago, perhaps there was a hope from the staff that with enough champagne and OJ, the rest would just be fine. My friend and I ordered entrees to split so we could sample more than one thing. Our waiter highly recommended the french toast - "best thing on the menu", he said. So we ordered that and the garden omelette. The omelette was delicious - vegetables crisp and well -seasoned - incredibly yummy. The french toast was, well, BLACK on one side. I tasted the char immediately. I waited for Shawn to return so I could let him know that somehow it had remained on the grill too long. He didn't return for some time and, when he did, customarily asking how everything was, he said nothing to my concern...smiling, asking if I wanted more mimosas, and walking away. Fortunately, I wasn't very hungry after eating my half of the garden omelette, but when another sweet staff member came by and asked why my french toast was untouched, I showed her the char. She apologized and returned moments later to tell me that the way it is prepared always lends itself to this...REALLY??? If so, why was it only on one side? SOOOOO, I won't be back for brunch which bums me out because the omelette was really quite good. The bigger problem is the lack of customer service...
I am still wondering why was I stuck with a $20 bill after using a coupon that should have covered the full amount and some. This resturant is for the local (sicilians) from the area nearby. I drove quite a ways, and was expecting a little more from a Sundays Brunch. There was a 2 person jazz player band that sound o.k. The resturant filled quickly, with seems to be locals. Maybe my bad experience was due to my early 10:30am reservation. Either way, I will not be returning to this resturant.
