Tuscan Grill - Fort Lauderdale Ratings and Reviews
The food and service were excellent. Fresh, homemade pasta and excellent grilled entrees. The ricotta and pear ravioli was incredible and was recommend by our waiter. I do not typically like sweet dishes and feared that this dish would be a bad choice but boy was I wrong. And the veal chop was incredible. Nice evening with great service. Definitely returning.
Great meal. Our server Nazir was attentive and on top of things. The fried calamari had a light batter and the marinara with it a bit of a bite of spice. We both had the bucatini . Mine as the special with shrimp and my friend had his Amatriciana style. Dessert was the lightest ricotta cheese cake I've ever had. I've dined where Chef Luigi had cooked before but this is his best venture by far and manager Gabriel makes sure everyone feels welcome.
Met friends for dinner -we had a reservation. First table where we were seated was next to the Service Table. Moved to an outdoor table - much nicer for a warm evening. The service was good, but disappointed with the food. We have been there before, and liked it better. Nice location. Also, if you want Happy Hour prices for drinks, you need to go the bar - the server doesn't have Happy Hour prices - seems strange for a small place.
Service was excellent, as was the atmosphere...a bit of old school Italian mixed with a modern vibe. Bread was amazing, and salad special was excellent (bib lettuce with blueberries, strawberries, almonds, etc. Chilean sea bass special was very good, but the papparadelle was just ok--Found the ragu/sauce just ok. Very good wine list.
Tuscan Grill has a lovely, full menu with many daily specials, particularly fish. With both indoor, outdoor and bar seating, there is a spot for everyone in this nice casual, Italian family atmosphere place where talking is possible, unlike its raucous Italian neighbor across the street. A very nice alternative with wonderful food. Buon Appetito!!
This was one of our local favorites. We loved the Pappardelle. We went this time as make up, per the new manager to make it right after a horrible experience with friends a couple days prior where one dish came out with Brilo pad particles in it. The other four, our gloated about Pappardelle only this time came out with Bolognese instead of the normal cream, mushroom, and spicy Italian sausage sauce. The waiter even tried to convince us that it was the correct sauce. We were offered one desert then. On the second visit the manager, came by and introduced himself and that's it. His make up was just a ploy for us to come in and spend another $250, horrible experience and will not be back!!!
Unfortunately, looks like the quality of the food is declining. We ordered the short rib over risotto This used to be my favorite dish but the meat was very fatty and not nearly as flavorful as it used to be. They, also, no longer bring out the plate of tomatoes and olives with the garlic bread.
Food was delicious. We had an issue when our kid spilled a water and a wine. We had some slowness with help to get it cleaned up in that we kinda had to clean a lot of it ourselves before service helped. The wine was nearly full when it spilled, and didn't get an offer to replace the wine, but we still enjoyed ourselves and plan to return.
This was to be a special evening reciprocating five friends generous hospitality while I was in town for the holidays. Unfortunately, after having called to confirm on more than one occasion, we were kept waiting for 35 minutes for our table. This is a restaurant which, when the street is busy takes walk ins.
The "assistant manager" offer an after dinner lemoncello to placate us over our wait. I suggested a comp-ed cocktail or appetizer! Neither was offered. Either would have gone a long way to overcome pent up disappointment over our wait.
The food, I hate to admit was quite food.
But......your choice.....is a long wait, with a reservation worth the wait. I say no!
We cancelled our reservation for two nights later.
We were lucky enough to have a seat in the courtyard by the water on a beautiful Florida night. Our waitress was excellent. We did. It feel rushed at any time. The food is as excellent. I had a perfect veal Milanese. The rest of the table enjoyed the eggplant as beet pastas- also delicious. The prices were reasonable as well for the atmosphere and food quality
Four of us went there on Dec. 31 and it was one of the few restaurants in the area that did not gauge their prices or skimp on their services for the New Year. The food was exceptional! The place is adorable, with a great European feel and look to it. Nice bar area and very spacious but yet small. Nice little outdoor area for people watching on Las Olas. It's nice because it is a little East of where all the action is, but just a block from where it all starts. It was the perfect choice for this special day! Happy New Year!
I've been going to this restaurant for a number of years - since it was Rino's Tuscan Grill. I was a little nervous to eat here since the new ownership because I'd read some not so favorable reviews. The menu is generally the same which was great. And the food was just as good as before the change. For anyone who is concerned due to the change to Luigi's Tuscan Grill, don't be. The food was very good, the service was very good, and the only change is some updating to the decor. For anyone looking for a quiet/romantic Italian dining experience on Las Olas, Tuscan Grill is still a great choice!
We celebrated New Years Eve at Tuscan Grill. You might get me once but you won't get me twice. Dinner specials which we ordered were just ok. The sea bass and salmon were very plain, nothing special and grossly over priced which we weren't expecting but our own fault for not asking as they were specials and the price not stated on the menu. The lobster with lobster risotto was bland and the lobster so over cooked it was chewy and tough. So disappointing I'll never go back.
We love that "Luigi" is the new owner! This is a great, local place to enjoy dinner, drinks, and people watching. We went in between the holidays and they were overwhelmed. They had a huge party of 23 on the lower patio and lots of people waiting. We were seated for our reservation about 20 minutes late but enjoyed a drink at the bar. The bartender was GREAT! The menu is interesting and will appeal to most people. The garlic bread, appetizer, and salad was delicious. Everyone had different entrees --- the spaghetti meatball was the winner, followed by the salmon. The carbonara was rather boring and the poached egg on top was overdone; the veal milanese was dry. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable, but was very busy with a couple of demanding tables. Water glasses were never filled and empty dishes & glasses sat on our table. I chalk this up to being new and the city being slammed for the holidays. We are excited to return!
Christmas night dinner. Live locally and have never been here. However, we will all return. Sat outside and had drinks and that amazing bread with parm cheese and pesto. We ordered antipasto and meatballs for appetizers. Both were fabulous! We had a veal parm, rigatoni, fish special, and chicken parm. All dishes were excellent and cannot wait to come back.
Loved everything. We ordered a pizza to share as an appetizer...excellent, then shared among 4 of us the veal scaloppini, chicken Milanese, shrimp pasta, and Caesar salad. All fabulous and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back. The setting by the little canal under the canapy is wonderful, quiet enough that you can actually have a conversation. We just made it for happy hour so we were very happy.
