Tuscan Grill - Fort Lauderdale Ratings and Reviews
Found "the grill" a few years back and had made a must do on subsequent yearly visits. Many changes and not for the better in our minds. We really missed the olive and oil mix that used to compliment the delicious bread. We were disappointed by the veal chop Milanese which was pounded super thin and as a result cooked dry as a bone. It also suffered greatly from a lack of seasoning. Needless to say it will not be a must for our next visit to FL Shame, it was special for us.
One of our Fort Lauderdale dinner favorites, Tuscan Grille never fails to disappoint us. From a warm welcome by the staff and our favorite server " Bobby Weinstein " to the delicious garlic cheese bread to waken your dining senses, we are ready to experience the best there is . Our favorites this visit included a Pumkin Ravioli enjoyed by my wife and a terrific Jumbo Shrimp Scampi [ really jumbo ] as my choice. Great salads to start and a cappuccino to close ends the evening with I can't wait until we return.
It was our wedding anniversary and I requested with the reservation that a wedge of chocolate cake be presented to my wife at the end of our main course. They ignored my request.
We shared an order of calamari as appetizer, it was as good as the best place I had ever eaten.
My wife ordered a Pappardelle dish and the sauce was disgusting with a heavy dose of cheese. I must say that my Chilean Sea bass was exquisite, so the meal overall was a mixed bag. Their prices are not justifiable because I can name a number of Italian restaurants in Fort Lauderdale where the choice of your main course is not dependent on the roll of the dice.
We went around 7 on a Wednesday night. The jumbo meatball and garlic bread was very good. I had the chicken parm which was good but kinda average, the pasta with it had an off taste. My friend had the chicken milanese which was very good and sooo big! Our waiter was great, very attentive. However I'm not sure if it was because the restaurant was slow but everything was very fast. The app came out almost as soon as we ordered and entrees the second we were done with the app. I would have liked a little more time in between courses and to relax and enjoy my meal. Overall was good.
Its a great Weekend spot. be sure to sit on the patio outside. during season a concert pianist plays and he's spectacular giving everything you'd want in a perfect dinner setting. Food is outstanding and only exceeded by the service we consistently receive. Bobby and Valentino are terrific waiters and we generally request them, but all the staff goes out of their way to make your evening great!
Bring your own wine, and they'll charge a v reasonable corkage fee.
everyone once in a while i'll say, I need a Tuscan Grill night!
First time in Fort Lauderdale in years - had good reviews so decided to give it a try. It was not busy the night we were there. So excellent service and the owner greeted us as well. Food was very good - we stuck to basics, Zuppa di pesce and Chicken Parmigiana. The garlic bread was excellent. Overall very nice experience.
We had a great time on the open patio. Even though it was raining the covered dining area was well protected and the live piano was fantastic. We watched as the pianist taught himself a Beatles medley which was done expertly.
The food was great. We all tried different dishes and we're pleased with all of them. We're not always in Fort Lauderdale but next time we're in the area we'll be back.
We make it a point to visit Tuscan Grill at least monthly whether it be for a special occasion or just for a great meal. Have a drink @ the bar, while you wait for a table on the spaciaous patio where the concert pianist is not only a terrific addition but incredibly talented adding to or completing a wonderful environment. Couple that w/ terrific sevice from Bobby or Valentino and you know your evening will be one you won't forget. Be it the specials or something simple from the menu, you can be sure the food will be fresh, beautifully prepared and to your liking. Cant recommend Tuscan Grill enough!
We Return To This wonderful restaurant Whenever in the area. Great menu choices...excellent food...good service. The snapper was delicious. They have a lower level outdoor garden which is open on weekends but the outdoor covered veranda was cozy. A great find...one of the best on Las Olas
We had originally booked a table outside near the river, but instead chose to sit outside on the patio facing the street. We felt the piano music directly in front of our table would make conversation difficult. Next time we would ask to be away from the music. The staff were most accommodating and kept checking throughout the meal if everything was to our liking. Our waiter, Douglas, was excellent, and we all enjoyed the food and ambiance. Good location on Las Olas.
Food ok but not great. Service terrible. Pushing and rushing experience even though we were the last seating on new year's eve and some people were just arriving. Many open tables...no excuse. $35 rigatoni...c'mon??? $62 veal chop....if you guys were only a *.....
