Overall a very pleasant experience and the food was good. The server was very patient with us and friendly.
Reliable menu, but specials can be a bit hit or miss. One time, ribs / BBQ were awesome, next time not so much. Special NovemBURGER month burger was VERY good. If you get seated beside a large party (and this is common, noise level can be very distracting.
All the staff were very friendly. Nice atmosphere. The food was amazing. I had the fish and chips my husband had the ribs. The service was really good. Not a long wait for our food. Yes we will definitely go back again.
I reserved a table through Open Table and left a special request in the comments .... the restaurant did a great job in making sure our visit was awesome.
Always a great experience for a good meal. The service was particularly great on this last visit.
Our server, Mike, made our evening. Attentive, knowledgeable, articulate and pleasant. I have often thought the thing that distinguishes a chain restaurant is not the food which is standard or the ambiance which is standard, but the people. In this case, a thoughtful helpful server made our evening and causes us to want to return.
Food was very good. We always find this restaurant a little noisy.
Fantastic service from Jennifer!
not very impresses with the service. not very friendly.
Work lunch and pretty satisfying and quite as a break of day.
The service provided by our waitress was absolutely outstanding.
I have never had a bad meal and we go fairly often. The staff have always been amazing and their service is next to non. We will be back tomorrow again for dinner this time.
The meals we ordered were good quality, timely and hot. Service was great.
Server didn't know how to open a bottle of wine. We did it for her. She was very nice and apologetic but you would think they would train her to do the tasks she needs to know.
Overall great. Service was a little slow.
Best wings in Burlington! The Blackened Basa is a go to favorite as well.
Very consistent with the food, it's always excellent! Service is always good too. Good varied menu.
Great atmosphere, excellent waiter, great food. ONLY negative...the seating in our booth had food particles all over (probably when the tables were cleaned) so I had to ask hostess to clean them off.
Food was good as it always is but when they brought it out to us the server dumped the whole container of french down my front, on pants and onto the floor, i stood up and wiped them off and all she said was "i'll get you some new ones", and carried on, never said anything about it again, no follow up or anything just carried on like nothing happened. Thought they may have done something potentially with the bill but no, from that point really lousy customer service .
Turtle Jack's is OK for an occasional lunch but I keep telling them their menu is very limited.
Terrible. Short staffed yet our waiter thought nothing of talking to a booth with 5 women in it for 10 minutes at a time. This is while we sat right behind him with empty glasses. To make this worse, every visit to our table was met with "thanks for your patience " or " you didn't get those drinks yet ?" . Took our food order, only have another waitress come by 10 mins later to also take our order. We could barely fit our plates due to dirty side plates ( that we had to ask for) and empty glasses. Whoever is managing this place is doing a terrible job. Tables were left unset and food was very average. When we paid our bill, we divided it by 4. The waiter gave our first guy up the machine and then turned around to yap to the booth of ladies some more. Really, bad management and training. I was at the Mapleview Turtles and it was great. Night and day. Will never go back. And you can see business is down at the Appleby location. Used to be hopping, now half empty.
Wasn't acknowledged when I walked in. Had reservation, there was a line so we waited until I decided to walk to the front to ask if people with reservations needed to wait in line. Just would have been helpful if one of the hostesses let the group know that those with a reservation didn't have to pointlessly wait in line. Had the full rack of ribs. Overcooked, but not to the point of being dry but they were not juicy at all. Fries were cold, which tells me my plate was sitting in the pass for a good ten mins while my wife and son's plate was being made. Lack of communication in the kitchen maybe, or they were just too busy they didn't care? Our server was great, asked how dinner was, I was honest and just asked for some new, hot, crispy fries whenever the kitchen had a chance. 2nd round was a lot better. Sadly, unless I'm given a gift certificate I probably won't be back.
The service was excellent, never felt rushed, the food was good and the price very reasonable.
This isn't haute cuisine, just regular sports bar type food with plenty of choice.
Parking is plentiful and easy access off the highway which worked for our group coming from different locations. I would definitely go there again.
Great food and atmosphere but you need more vegetarian options on your menu.
Restaurant was your typical chain but because it was New Year's Eve and it was basically run by young people, was told when we sat down that they close at 10. I said are you going to kick us out if we are still eating and hostess said no but everyone had somewhere to be........in other words hurry up. Felt rushed and got the hint when they turned the lights up to full near 10......again in other words get out. If that's the way it is there, don't take a 9pm reservation. Won't go back
The food was phenomenal - fresh, tasty, and well proportioned. Two in our party had steak, which was cooked perfectly to order. I especially appreciate the wide variety in menu options, without being overwhelmed with TOO many options. I enjoyed one of the house specialty mixed drinks, which was wonderful and refreshing. Just a warning about payment - I had intended to pay with a Visa pre-paid card which was a gift. However, this restaurant does not take this form of payment.
Overall positive experience, parking was a challenge, seating fast, service fast, food excellent, service good, facilities better than average chain-restaurant
There is cozy atmosphere to be had at this Turtle Jack's. My husband and I were celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary and the mood lighting, gentle background music and tucked-away booth that served as our seating provided us with just that. The food was fresh and tasty: we were eating light on this night (soups, salads and sandwiches) and the recommendations from our waitress provided a dining experience that met with our needs. The dessert that we shared was exceptional! It was the butter tart confection that sat high on its plate, which was topped with French vanilla ice cream that oozed out buttery goodness when we dug in deeper. Quite delicious, I must say. Perhaps the only drawback to our evening, if I must find fault, lay with our over-attentive server. My husband and I would have enjoyed more conversational moments between bites and between being served, but our over-zealous waitress kept popping up, moving us along a little more quickly than we would have otherwise relished. This because the food and ambiance at this establishment is one to savour and freedom to linger just a little bit would have capped off our evening nicely. Thanks for the memories! We'll be back :)
A number of people's food was overdone or burnt. Otherwise service was good and atmosphere was pleasant.
Overall Turtle Jack's delivers a nice weekly dining experience. The ambiance is friendly. The wait staff is polite and helpful with recommendations if asked.
