Food is not as good as it used to be. Piano was lovely but far too loud. Service is slow and and not all staff are wearing masks properly
We have dined here quite a few times. All our food selections have always been outstanding. Waite staff always recognize us. And the lady playing the piano on Saturday evening adds an extra ambiance to the entire experience. We always recommend Turquoise to all our friends.
I hadn’t been to turquoise restaurant in quite a while and I’ve only been for breakfast in the past a few times. My boyfriend and I went for dinner last night and it was fantastic. Food was absolutely delicious. Service was good but a little slow. I plan to take my boyfriend back for breakfast as we both love brunch and he loves Turkish coffee.
Ordered the meat Coma and some Torquise salad. Good was Excellent
Loved it great for a large group
The young lady tending bar and who served us at the bar was OUTSTANDING..... clone her - she's a GREAT ambassador for your restaurant
love this place! It’s my favorite local restaurant - must try!
Great service! Delicious food!
We have been there many times. Excellent staff who are so friendly. Food is outstanding and with piano music additional makes for a lovely visit. We will come again and bring some friends
Truly a neighborhood gem.
Excellent healthy food choices (the salmon was great).
Great quiet location with option of outdoor dining (under a heat lamp when a bit chilly).
We had a great evening. The tables are spread out so you don’t feel crowded. The food was delicious. The service a bit slow but I think that’s everywhere at this time. We would definitely go back. Truly a neighborhood gem.
It was our first time dining indoors since the beginning of the pandemic. This small restaurant was ideal for us. The tables were appropriately distant from each other and servers were masked.
The food was delicious. We started with soup, served with a delicious bread and spread. We also had salads. Everything was so good and perfectly served.
I love Turquoise. It is my "go to" restaurant for a nicer-than-normal lunch!
Really good and interesting food. Excellent, friendly service. Nice touches: the server asks whether you want a straw with soft drink, instead of just bringing one. Complimentary fabulous warm fresh bread and carrot spread. An occasional complimentary dessert. And a lovely outside space (though probably no more this year, sad)
Fantastic food with wonderful service. Their signature martini was amazing.
Fabulous food. I keep going back and trying new things.
Loved the Turqoise Lounge and very much appreciated the pianist! The find is delicious and I look forward to returning!
Have been going to this restaurant for years and have always enjoyed myself. So when I have out of the country family, I decide to take them to Turquoise. Big mistake. The waiter (curly ponytail hair) was horrible. Would take him 20 mins to get a beer from the bar. We ordered apps, they were good but if I asked for the rolled up phyllo dough (sigara borek) and you tell me it comes with it, I expect that. Not pite. I then order an order for Sigara borek and again it’s pite! Didn’t want to make a scene with my out of the country family, so I let it go. I then asked for the order how many people a platter feeds. The waiters tells me 5-6 people. For 6 people who already ate 3 appetizers, we ordered the platter and a whole entree for 6 people. We waited almost an hour for the food. The platter maybe feeds 2 people. Barely any rice. Decent amount of meat but barely any rice. Again I didn’t want to make a scene. I thought of placing another order for the platter but having waited an hour, wouldn’t be right to wait another hour. So I ordered an extra rice. By the time we received it, everyone was done with most of the meat since we practically had to fight each other for since we didn’t have enough rice or meat. Meat was decent amount but not for 5 people. The rice was not even close to being enough. I compared it to the amount of rice in the separate entree and there was no way more than twice the amount in the platter. If the waiter had clearly said the right amount instead of trying to rush us to order we would have made sure to order more. The food was not enough and the waiter was horrible. He didn’t have to check on us or be helpful since he was getting his gratuity automatically of the amount of people that were sitting at the table
Delicious food, both vegetarian eggplant and custard dessert!!!
A real discovery! Friendly staff. We shall eagerly return. (And nearby street parking is a nice plus.)
Shared courses were brought out at once. Food was cold. No dessert offered. Loud noise. Terrible piano. People kept getting louder to talk over piano. This is normally a great place. Service ruined everything and again, food was cold. Off the list going forward.
The food here is really good but the service at the restaurant is appalling. We had ordered a second glass of wine after the appetizers and it took them until half way through the main course to bring it to the table despite asking several staff to follow up. It spiked what could have been an amazing evening. Only do take out from here!
Went on a Saturday. Please was very busy. The staff I do not blame them was very overwhelmed. Food was just ordinary. We sat down right away cuz had made online reservations our server was good but kept saying it’s very busy today. They served us bread without any butter the server said he forgot. Took an hour and 20mins to get our food. My wife’s food was cold. I ordered the Adana that was super salty. I ordered pasta for my son that they forgot about and took another 20 mins to get that. When he did get it. It was literally boiled pasta in a plate nothing else. I complained to the manager who was nice enough to take it back and willing to make again but by this time we were done waiting. The noise level was super high sitting inside but mostly because their staff kept breaking glasses so many times at the bar. I have been to this place before use to be a lot better. Would not come again. Highly dissatisfied and disappointed
Like many restaurants Turquoise is understaffed so servers & others were stressed on a busy Saturday night. I think many of us now are more patient because we understand the current situation but Turquoise did not manage the situation well. It was chaotic, it took over 1/2 hour to get water, then ages for drink and at least 1.5 hours for food to arrive. Many restaurants have a 90 minute dining policy and manage to serve customers while adhering to this time frame but we were at Turquoise for hours. I don’t think they should accept reservation requests if they can’t handle so many people.
The food at Turquoise is usually good but by the time it arrived it couldn’t really be enjoyed.
We felt sorry for the servers but there should be far better organization. We fault management.
Is it possible to leave 0 stars? The service here is not only poor, it is nonexistent!!! I made a reservation and had been looking forward to trying this place all evening… it is so unfortunate all I was able to try was their water! My boyfriend and I sat for 15 minutes before receiving water from a man who didn’t even speak to us. We decided that after 30 minutes, if we weren’t greeted by a server, then we would leave. Well we gave it 35 minutes and still NO ONE! Thirty. Five. Minutes. One of the people from the table next to us had been talking about the poor service and even had to get up to find someone to bring them their bill. It would be one thing for the staff to say something like, “we’ll be right with you”, but they did not even acknowledge us. What a joke. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.
Being and old restaurant dog myself, I know that servers should typically have maybe five or six tables however it adds up to 25 to 30 people total in their station.
Last night our server had the entire room likely 20 tables maybe 40/50 people. One busser that worked the whole house and one runner that did not speak a work of English.
As you would expect, drinks (not inexpensive) took for ever, appetizer came pretty quick but I was able to get a good nap in before our on entree's arrived.
When they did arrive all of our appetizer dishes and glasses were still on the table, The busser too them away so the runner could put the dishes down then both of them left us with no silverware and our waitress no where to be found.
The table next to us took know and said, bet you would like to know how that tastes, let me guess, no silverware.
The table behind us a couple that was sat not that long after us got up and left because they had not even seen a server.
Waitress finally showed up, told her we were not have a great experience and got the expedited and obvious answer "I'm sorry, we are really short handed today".
On the way out I stopped to speak with the hostess, asked is she was a manager. She asked what was wrong I told her that we had a very unpleasant experience and thought they should know. She curtly asked what was wrong and I told her as I described earlier. All she could must to tell me was that it was not the server's fault then pointed me to the manager. After telling him all that happened again, he apologized and offered me a gift card.
I had to chuckle, and asked him why, with everything I just told him would he think I would ever come back. This was as much his fault for not controlling how many people this poor server had to take at the same time.
Will never go back.
After hearing about Turquoise for years and how great it is, my friend and I were disappointed. I had requested a quiet table and while they tried, the restaurant is very noisy (granted it was a Saturday night but it was early reservation - 6:30). The live piano player was good but very loud. The service was very slow, but she was trying. The bathrooms were dirty and lacking towels. I told the server and she said they were out of a lot of things (she shouldn't have shared this). The entire place was a mess. One of the specials (which we both ordered), the lemon chicken was advertised a being cooked in a lemon butter sauce. It was very spicy and should have said so. The chicken was a bit over-cooked, too. The shepherd salad was great and the bread was fabulous. I would not go back, purely for the cleanliness aspect of this place.
The lamb kabob was delicious again! The Lahmacun was outstanding again as well.
I really enjoyed the Turkish red blend wine, I only wish I could have it for dinner once in a while at home :)
Two recommendations I would add:
When dining inside, at times it feels a bit stuffy. Perhaps is the air conditioning (?). Also, we initially didn’t get our refills of water but then we were good.
Very good Mediterranean options and excellent service. Reasonable prices for quality of the food.
Great Turkish restuarant! Excellent food and seating. I love the appetizers and all entrees. Meat and seafood is high quality. Been here a few times and it is very consistent
The staff did their best but it definitely felt like they were understaffed. The service was very slow throughout the night. We had a large party but one person waited over half an hour for her entrée to arrive after all the others had. So, the food was excellent as always and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Great service, very nice outdoor space and excellent food
As always, large portions of delicious food served at a leisurely pace.
I love Turquoise. It's my go to for a nice lunch, especially when we can sit outside. Good food, excellent service- amazing complimentary bread and carrot spread. I love Turquoise.
Amazing food, service, and people. The ambulance was warm and welcoming.
Overall good experience - with nice, casual presentation of food. Food was good/very good. Service was very good.
The food, as always, was remarkable. The hostess and piano player were great. Our server…..as a ghost. He flew by us several times but rarely checked in. Our food took forever. Our drinks took forever. And then, when we commented on it, we got attitude. It’s a shame. The food is excellent here but the service will keep me from coming back.
When we arrived they said they couldn’t get into open table to confirm our reservation. Then when we get to table they told us we only have one option & that’s a Turkish breakfast buffet. When I told them that won’t work because some of our party is vegan , the waiter spoke to someone & then handed us dinner menus.. I then asked if they had lunch menus & they said they didn’t have lunch menus since the pandemic started! Wow! If this was updated on open table that you can’t get anything on the menu on Sunday except the 1 choice of Turkish breakfast buffet & that they didn’t have lunch menus at all we could’ve avoided going here & wasted time. I brought my 91 year old grandma for her birthday & we were beyond disappointed. We ended up leaving because we wanted a small lunch according to what is posted on open table, a lunch menu .. we had a reservation at 12:30pm. Everyone should call ahead because what’s listed on open is not accurate.
We really enjoyed dining here. The food was great and a very good value and our server was very helpful with the menu.
Excellent food, will be back… I felt very comfortable dining indoors
First time my and my wife loved the food and the service fast we didn’t wait long for our food
Good food, but service was a bit slower than we expected. Staff was friendly, helpful with suggestions - just a bit of a wait for the server to come to the table and during the meal.
