Great food, terrible service. Took 30m to get a glass of wine after being seated. We had to keep constantly asking the waiter to come back to the table for more water, bread, drinks, etc. Have been there 3-4 times & service is extremely slow and inattentive. Great food, location, & ambiance keeps us coming back but we don't always have 2+ hours for dinner.
The food is very good and the portions are perfect. They have homemade bread which is out of this world that they serve with a wonderful carrot like spread. The outdoor seating is so nice but not to many tables. Server was quite helpful with the menu choices. I would surely go back.
I love this place! Best hummus and falafel in Chicago. Nice ambiance inside. White table cloth service inside. Outdoor seating is relaxing. Easy street parking usually.
Food is delicious. The spread served with the bread basket is worth the visit alone.
Already planning a trip back! The app platter was vegetarian friendly and we're still talking about it. I had a stuffed pepper dish that thinking about today makes me salivate. So glad we took an Uber driver's advice to experience Turquoise!
First time at Turquoise. Loved the Mediterranean menu with more than typical options. We were a group of eight and everyone ordered something different. All happy with our food! Service was attentive, waiter was good with food suggestions. We will come back.
Not the first time we dined there. Love the food especially the Turkish Delight. Service was great as usual. My only complaint is that when it's crowded it's loud, but that won't keep us away.
We so enjoyed our time there -- from entering until departure. The food was excellent. A couple of us had salads: the Turquoise salad and the Shepherd salad -- F.R.E.S.H. with a nice serving of the many proteins from which to choose being only $5.00 additional. One had shrimp, the other salmon. Then the others ordered Imam Bayildi -- an eggplant dish -- and the Doner Kabob-- both lamb and beef. Both dishes were attractive looking and quite enjoyed by their eaters. The wine drinkers ordered a bottle of something red that pleased them both very much. Because of a birthday being celebrated, we also ordered both Creme Brulee and the Turkish custard, Kazandibi, because we wanted to compare them. Both delicious. I need to get back to this restaurant as there are may other items on their menu that I wish to try.
It was so good there. We went for dinner and sat outdoor. It was so wonderful.
We enjoyed the meal. One appetizer was not made by mealtime. I thought we had cancelled it but it came when we were thinking about dessert.
We have been wanting to try this restaurant since we saw it on TV. What a complete disappointment. The service was simply terrible. The food came out cold and every dish was mediocre at best. We would never go back.
Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Great food and people. So many fantastic dishes!
Fresh, delicious food. Service was lovely. We enjoyed a Turkish wine and tons of salad, mezze sampler and kebabs. Everyone was happy with the bread and dip that came out first since we were really hungry. Outside seating though it was 90, so we sat in. All in all, great experience.
We arrived at 7 pm and were seated outside. The restaurant failed to inform us of the outdoor seating in advance of our arrival.
The drinks and food were great, service was very good with the temperature outside finally going down from over 87 degrees when we arrived. Overall the group was happy with the food and service.
This was my first time at this restaurant. To say that I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The food was delicious and the crème brulee was outstanding. I highly recommend the lamb; the meat was falling off the bones. It was good.
We came here a month ago with friends and had to come back to celebrate Mother’s Day. My son loves eating a whole fish and absolutely loved the Branzino under salt. It was entertaining and delicious!
Must be a new owner, who doesn't operate the place as well as the original owner.
The waiter was horrible and very unattentive...it took forever to get our meal. I finally had to get up from our table to ask the waiter where our food is. He spent most of his time making drinks instead of checking on our dinner. He never came back to ask us if we wanted another drink. I asked a busboy for ground pepper and he blew me off. Turquoise used to be one of our favorite restaurants and we told many friends to go there. Now we will tell them don't!!!
Ezzie is a great chef who has taken over the reins from Chef Mustafa, Mike, one of the great chefs in Chicago. Try it-you'll love it.
I had asked for a dessert menu and never brought it. We waited to see if they would take our dirty plates away so I had to ask them to take them. It has a nice ambience but that's about it.
First time visit following seeing a piece on check please. The food was pretty good. I asked the waiter for a recommendation between two kabob dishes and I liked the one he suggested. There was a nice selection of mixed drinks, wines and beers. Our two guests loved the margaritas they had. One of our party had a salad, one the seafood pasta plate and my husband and I both had lamb kabobs. The side rice was average but the slaw was tasty. I was disappointed with very slow service. A good half hour before food came. We asked if there was cheese to put on the seafood pasta dish and the waiter or busboy said yes but never brought any. We may go again but probably for appetizers and drinks.
New owners and food remain delicious
will be back. great for a special occasion that wont be too costly
Unfortunately, the day we went the grill was out of order so we could not order kabobs. The waiter came and took our order but had to come back and tell me that the item I had ordered was also unavailable. Finally I ordered a salad and ate a little bit of my husband's entree. I had really been hoping for the kabobs and while I realize it was a circumstance beyond their control, it did make for a disappointing dining experience. I ordered a turquoise martini and it was underwhelming. For $10 I would have expected something a little fancier than just a glass full of blue liquid with nothing else to make it special or jazzed up a bit. They did give us a free dessert to make up for not being able to order what we wanted, but the overall experience wasn't one that made me want to try again.
The food was outstanding, but the service was on the slow side. Three of us were served our main dishes, but one person in our party didn’t get her food until 10 minutes after us, and hers was the easiest to make (hummus & veggies).
Food is amazing.
The food was really bad. I am half Lebanese and eat this type of food all the time. Falafil was ok but the taziki sauce was poor. The hummus was just terrible. It was lacking all the flavor it normally has. I had one bite of my husband's food and it was all greasy. I didn't order a meal as the appetizers were so bad. My husband was up sick twice in the middle of the night.
Great menu, knowledgeable wait staff, efficient service, DELICIOUS food--we'll be back!
Cute place, good food.
Delicious food, great atmosphere! Lamb was extremely tasty!!
We enjoyed all of it especially the Branzino for main course; of course the kebabs were delicious; teh amuse bouche, a confection of carrot and yoghurt was terrific.
The Best Turkish restaurant in town. Although the owner has changed the food is still great. Service is also great. In fact the best doner in town also.
Noise level is reasonable. You do not need to shout to hear each other.
Without a doubt the worst service I have ever had. The food wasn’t up to par either. Good but not as good as it’s been on many previous visits. We waited 20 minutes from when we were seated to have our order taken, and only after I flagged someone down. It appeared there was only 1 person waiting on tables. Many people behind bar chatting away. Nonetheless, the beer my husband ordered didn’t come, until we flagged someone again. Asked for desert menu, took a few minutes but someone, not our waitress, brought one. After waiting another 20 minutes to place an order, I caught the eye of someone behind the bar and made the gesture for our check. We were sick and tired of waiting for wait service. She wasn’t very pleasant either. I left a mere 15% tip, which was 15% more than she deserved. We were there with another couple, at our recommendation. It was very embarrassing.
Excellent value and menu, friendly service, nice ambiance
very nice food. staff friendly. the home baked bread with the dip was just out of the oven. so warm and fresh. Every dish had its own unique taste. this was my third time dining here and i would come again.
Excellent food. Excellent Food. Excellent food. Great taste...
Great service. Lots of servers, you do not wait long.
Great deserts and excellent Turkish Coffee
Attractive space, excellent food, generous portions
Some of the best Turkish food in Chicago! I highly recommend Turquoise, and I also recommend you go all out and order lots of dishes (and, of course, some kahve at the end).
Food is always good but ambience is tough due to close tables and noise level.
Impromptu date night. Ordered 2 dishes - one dish was wrong, but my girlfriend ate it anyway. The other dish was so salty, I could barely eat it, brought it home for leftovers and ended up throwing it out. Not a fun experience for a date night. Dropped $60 for a subpar experience.
We have gone to Turquoise many times and never does it disappoint. Great food, service and ambiance make it a triple threat!!!!
