While Turquoise Restaurant continues to showcase it’s inspiring and sophisticated Turkish dishes, Chef Ezgi Bozdas adds personalized touches to the service and customer care to ensure that Turquoise Restaurant captures the essence and expectations of today's diners.
After many years of dining at turquoise I believe that our Saturday night dinner will be our last. Although the food was good (perhaps not quite as good as it was years ago), The service and the seating offered was less than acceptable. We had a reservation for two and when we arrived they immediately tried to seat us a small table for two right by the front door which is quite drafty. There were many available tables so we asked for a Nother one. They brought us to the back of the restaurant and told us that the only other available table for two was right by the kitchen. Again there were many available tables set for four. When we asked if we could take a table for four they reluctantly allowed us to do so. As the evening went on we did notice that they seated many couples at a table that was set for four. In addition the service was very slow taking almost a half hour to get our drinks. There are many restaurants in the city of Chicago and therefore my husband and I will finally remember the old days of turquoise but not return
Really tasty and authentic Mediterranean food, the house favorites were a big hit at our table. The restaurant was packed and it's obviously quite popular with regulars.
Delicious! The kebabs (lamb and beef) were tender and full of flavor. Roasted eggplant was melt in your mouth. Grilled calamari with salad, some of the best I’ve ever had. Bravo- wonderful meal!!
Made reservations online and when arrived we were seated right away. Took a few extra minutes for the waiter to realize we were seated, but once he did, he made sure we received excellent service. Food arrived quick and was amazing always. The restaurant was busy on a Friday night so reservations is recommended.
Always good! Food is always fresh and tasty, nice small wine list! Great place for lunch or dinner.
Loved the food , had great service. A definitely must go.
Band was way too loud, servers are confused
Great food—attentive wait staff
Service was excellent, food was great. Had the fried calamari and lamb shank with mushroom risotto. Incredible time!
Great little place that has been here for a long time. Consistently delicious food in the heart of Roscoe Village. Highly recommend for a date night, or a small group of friends. The outdoor seating in the warm months is awesome, but the inside is welcoming and warm.
All of the food is delicious. We had grilled calamari as an appetizer which we all enjoyed. Their bread is outstanding. They were out of their usual carrot spread so kindly brought us from eggplant spread and that is outstanding too. Two of us had salads with added grilled salmon. The 2 salads, Turquoise Salad and Beet Quinoa Salad, were so different and wonderful and the salmon perfectly grilled. Two of us had Kuzu Shish Kabob and they raved about the lamb. Three of us had a glass of wine, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Savignon and a Turkish Red Blend. The Blend was particularly dry and flavorful so if you like that sort of thing you'll be happy. If you don't like dry wine go for the Pinot or Cab. Friendly and thoughtful service made the evening even better.
Delicious food. Great jazz band playing on the sidewalk out front.
It would have helped plan our visit to know that an event closed Roscoe Ave in front of the restaurant and limited our access to both adjacent parking and the restaurant itself. Also the sound of a band playing in the street bled into the restaurant. Restaurants should be encouraged to send out texts or emails about such events. We would not have cancelled, just planned better.
Steven was exceptional!
Very nice, Roscoe Village location! We ate al fresco and enjoyed it very much!
Surprisingly full early Sunday evening. Food had an abundance of flavors and textures. We had a wonderful time. Enjoyed being allowed to talk after dinner without being rushed out.
Horrible service experience: slow and inattentive, missed and wrong food, no apologies or attempt to make better by our waiter, and two people had upset stomachs afterward. Whatever supposedly was or could be good about Turquois seems to be gone. Very disappointing.
I would highly recommend this little gem in Roscoe village. The service is top notch and every dish we have tried over several visits has been excellent. The arugula salad lightly dressed with balsamic vinaigrette is one of my favorite ways to start. We split several entrees, my number one is the lemon chicken. If you like lamb, you can’t go wrong with any of the options. Our server brought a complimentary plate of small desserts to accompany our final glass of wine and end our visit on a sweet note.
I'm a new customer and still finding out what my favorite dishes are. Enjoyed the bread and dip. Entree was good but not for me subjectively. I wish I ordered a dish that I smelled when entering the place. I don't know what it is.
It was delicious
Perfectly seasoned and grilled food. Best Turkish food in Chicago. Great value. Outdoor seating made it even better. We took 2 frinds from TX, they loved it too.
The service was quite slow. Everyone was very nice but things just took quite a long time.
Always an excellent experience at Turquoise! It is our go to place. Best restaurant on Roscoe. Kidir is the absolute BEST! All the wait staff are wonderful as well.
Great family friendly option with traditional Turkish food! Was really impressed! Will def be going back!
Food was very low quality and for the price, it was not worth it. Food also got delivered cold so my guess is that it was sitting out for a while. The restaurant was understaffed on a Friday night and our waiter barely came to check on us.
This is consistently a first class experience! Wonderful food in a fine atmosphere in a fantastic Chicago neighborhood!
Service was phenomenal. Food and drinks were delicious. Outside seating was the perfect setting.
Food was delicious. Lemon chicken tender and tasty. Service was very slow. And literally had to get the waiters attention for anything. And food took forever to come after ordering. Would recommend for the food quality and good pricing. Just don’t be in a hurry and realize you may have to work to get the waiters attention.
Meh. Lemon chicken entrée had no lemon and was heavy on the oil. Pide had good flavor.
Great location. Got to enjoy the outdoor patio last time :-)
Wonderful friendly service.
Diverse healthy menu. Had the salmon twice and was not disappointed. Very generous portions.
Overall great value.
When we’re were there, there was something that happened in the kitchen which created a lot of smoke in the dinning room. I was there with a party of 9 some of our eyes were very affected by the smoke. They opened windows, and in time it got better, but that was not good for awhile. Food was very good and so was our server.
The salted fish was very nice but besides that this place fell short of my expectations!
Our party of three dined outside and had a fabulous time. The food was outstanding and plentiful and we walked away with plenty of leftovers. Great value for the prices charged.
The food was very delicious and not expensive. Service was also very attentive and hospitable.
It was our first time going and this was for a date night. We enjoyed our time there very much and we will definitely be back!
Had a great Al fresco dining experience. The service was superb as was the food and wine.
The food was excellent! I ordered the Lentil Soup, delicious and very hot. The turkish salad was tasty as well, the dressing was not heavy, the way I like it! And the Turkish delight--was amazing! Excellent for vegan choices.
This was a return visit to Turquoise; perhaps a fourth over three-four years.
A 5pm reservation on a Sunday.
Unfortunately, our table for two was situated in a "floating" spot, in the line of waiter traffic.
My companion ordered vegetable risotto, which he liked; I had a lamb kebab with rice and cabbage slaw.
The lamb chunks (very good) were on the small side and rather "rationed" at six, plus the vegetables.
Our appetizer was hummus.
By about 6:30, the restaurant was full & busy. We decided to forego dessert for Turkish coffee and escape the waiters' pounding feet within 6 inches of our table.
I would return, but with a party of four for a better table!
Repeat customers. Excellent food and wine list, friendly staff and service. Can get very, very busy (especially weekends/holidays) and on one occasion service notably suffered because of that . . . but not this time. Even on a Saturday night, it's not a late-night place so don't book later than 8PM or you may end up closing the place. It helps if you are a bit familiar with Turkish cuisine, although the menu covers a wide range of Mediterranean dishes (pastas among them).
One of the best lamb shanks in Chicago. Excellent kabobs! Try the Efes beer. Always attentive service.
