Turner's seafood is very good. The freshness is unquestioned. I had the swordfish and my wife tuna. Both recipe's were tasty highlighting the freshness of the fish. The soups were excellent. I definitely recommend Turner's. Their waitstaff is friendly, polite and attentive. They also some how found out it was my birthday so the chocolate cake was both a surprise and delicious. We will be back.
Our waitress was fantastic. The food was excellent.
Date with grandma. Service was friendly and attentive. Some oddities like leaving slips from the kitchen on the plate but overall very pleasant. A gentleman was walking around from table to table asking if everything was good. Food was very good. Good portions. Steamers were delicious. We both enjoyed our entrees. Have been there for a drink but my first time eating dinner. I would go back.
Food very good.
Went to celebrate a daughters graduation diner and looked forward to a relaxing night to celebrate.
Waiter proved good service but we definitely felt pressured to order quickly. Management was indicated a particular concern about number of drinks ordered and wanted to go into details on something about their drink rules which was totally embarrassing but did succeed in having us put in our order right away if that was the intent. Food was excellent - just know to set your timer when you arrive.
Great place for a Mother’s Day dinner.. I would definitely go again
We go every year for Mother's Day. Never disappoints. Pricey but the food and service backs it up.
excellent experience. Will be going back. food was excellent
There are other seafood restaurants in Salem that I would recommend over Turners. I have been going to their Melrose location for decades and have been to Salem a few times. I think that I have been wishing that this location would be better as it is close but the food is mediocre by comparison to other area restaurants.
Always a perfect experience! My favorite place! The place I always bring out of town guests first.
I already have recommended Turner's to friends. Our lunch there this week was such a pleasure. The setting is warm and hospitable, the servers are attentive and friendly, and the fish dishes are superb (e.g., shrimp and sausage over pasta). Lunch was a birthday celebration for my sister and it hit all the right notes. Thank you!
We celebrated an early Mother’s Day dinner. It was lovely and everyone was friendly! Will definitely go back and recommend to others.
Figure on about $70 per person with tip included. Our party of 5 had a variety of items and all were well presented and tasty. Wine is reasonably priced.
First time to Turner's and we will definately be back!! They were very accommodating for my party of 10 that turned into 12!! Lisa our server was incredible!!
Food was excellent. Had to wait about 20 minutes despite having a reservation. Our waiter was outstanding!
First time here. Great food and service. I look forward to dining here again.
Our visit to Turner's Seafood was great! Awesome food, terrific service and a warm, friendly vibe. I definitely recommend it to all seafood lovers.
Loved the food (fresh and delicious) from the appetizers to the entree, the atmosphere was great & service was very good. That evening was very busy and our waiter (John) was very attentive, courteous and did his very best to constantly check up on us Great personality and most definitely a people person. *
Would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. Thank you.
Disappointing experience for party of 5. Server was very inattentive and food was mediocre. Oysters were good as were cocktails. But surf and turf steak was just ok. The special of the day scallops in succotash was bizarre. Scallops themselves were good but the asparagus was soggy and stringy and the succotash itself was not tasty. I have been here before and it was good but this was bad. Not sure I will be back anytime soon.
After a wonderful visit to the PEM, what better place to lunch.. convenient, excellent food and a wonderful waitress named Dwe Dee.
Would recommend this to everyone
Jason was our waiter and he was amazing. The food is ALWAYS exceptional; we’ve been going there since they opened this location and have never had a bad experience.
Oysters were delicious. Chowder one of the best I ever had. My dining partner enjoyed her lemon and chive cod. My hot lobster roll was awesome but a little pricey. Great service. Our waiter was polite and attentive.
Always fresh food and large portions too! Most meals will have you with a take home box.
Lobster chowder was to die for. Waiter couldn’t do enough. Service was great. Will go back again.
Hostess was very accommodating w/ our need for handicap access & seating. The hostess helped in every way to make our evening dinner most enjoyable.
Food was good & service was excellent.
A very nice restaurant in downtown Salem.
Absolutely outstanding service, and each course of food was incredible. Had the Lobster bisque, Dijonnaise Mussels, stuffed clams, swordfish au poivre with brandy mushroom cream sauce, and the New England Classic Crab Cakes. Amazing!
Nice place to eat in a lively neighborhood. Only complaint is our entrees were presented to us while we were still eating our appetizers. Hate that. Really don't understand why this happens. Service, otherwise, was outstanding.
This is by far one of my favorite restaurants. Food is outstanding and the atmosphere is quaint and inviting.
We've returned to Turner's to celebrate Administrative Professionals Day a few times. The food is always high quality and delicious. I'm especially partial to the Brussel Sprouts. Our waiter Zach was attentive without being intrusive. He was able to accommodate our special requests. The only downside was that I didn't care for the location of our table in the back corner. We've had one in the front near the windows that we enjoyed much more on past occasions.
Rushed, unprofessional service. We've been several times and it's never been this bad. Perhaps isolated incident because of Easter?
Turner's was fabulous, flawless when it first came to Salem. My opinion is that it has gone downhill and fast. One person in our party got Salmon on a Polenta cake. The Salmon was delicious. The Polenta cake was a deep fried disaster. The price was crazy. Another in our party got a sliced tuna plate that he enjoyed but wasn't thrilled with. Just not enough flavor. I wasn't eating at that meal and so got a lobster roll to bring home for later. It proved to be inedible. The lobster was so overcooked it had no flavor at all and was tough as shoe leather. And it was a crazy price.
There's a lot of great seafood options on the north shore. I no longer consider Turner's to be a good one. You might get a great meal, and you might not. It's too expensive to be an iffy proposition.
This is a lovely restaurant. We had a wonderful waitress who was warm, attentive, and yet unobtrusive. Our party of six had a great time sharing food around the table as everyone raved, "You gotta try this!" Considering that it was noon on Easter Sunday, there was a surprisingly relaxed atmosphere, and we were very pleased with our meal. The skinny little onion rings are very good and ALL of our seafood was excellent, including the crab rangoon and lobster bisque.
Very disappointed. Took my daughter there with my family for her 18th birthday. The noise level was high which would have been fine if the other components of our meal were good. The service was fair at best. The food was not great at all. My 15 year old son and I got the "Award winning" clam chowder. He asked me what award it won since neither of our chowders had any clams in them. Enough said. Will not be returning. In over 8 years this is only the second negative review I have posted.
Food and service were both outstanding. I ordered the Gloucester Sole with crabmeat stuffing, and my friend ordered the Fish and Chips. We'll be back real soon!
Very good. Not too greasy and quick service. Relaxing place for dinner.
We were a little disappointed in the lobster. It was very tough. We had the lobster pie. My husband has the tuna and it was good but the sauce was not.
The service from everyone there was remarkable. Our server Lisa was extremely pleasant and efficient. She was there when we needed something and not there when we did not. The seafood was phenomenal, the atmosphere very good. We had a party of seven and although the restaurant was busy we were given a corner table near sunny windows and felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Overall an exceptional afternoon.
I recommend combining the excellent Belgium mussels and Napa cabbage salad ! Needed a Chenin Blanc to go with this, but only available by the bottle. A sweet waitress tried her best tho!
The pasta with clam sauce had little flavor. The finan haddie was too light on the haddock, but tasty. The lobster bisque was superb. The butterscotch pudding with ice cream came instead with whipped cream. Good service, but the wait for a 8:15 pm "reservation" was at least 30 minutes. I understand it was not a true reservation, but, still, that a long wait to get a table.
