Started with a raw bar sampler and some scallops wrapped in bacon that were absolutely delicious. Our entrees did not disappoint either. I had to taste my drawn butter alone to see if the sweetness was coming from it, it was not. Amazing steamed lobster and my husbands seafood and pasta dish was perfect, also. Friendly, prompt service. Would definitely recommend.
Great restruant. I enjoyed getting to snoop around for the ghost of bridiget and getting a few picitures of orbs.
The food, service, and hospitality were very good! Would definitely recommend this restaurant as a must!!
Our first experience. Very good food at reasonable prices. Excellent selection. Excellent attentive service. Nicely done
We originally were going to Finz but it was closed so chose Turner's Seafood. I am so happy we did. The food, the atmosphere, everything was perfect! I am a very picky food snob so this is a compliment. I will be back. Thank you Turner Seafood!
Good food. Service needs upgrading. Way too noisy. The acoustics are poor to begin with, but then we were seated near a table of men who were predictably very loud and boisterous, despite request for a quiet table for conversation.
This was my third visit to Turner's, and it did not disappoint. My husband and I have vacationed in the general area a few times over the last 5 years, and we always make a point to have dinner at Turner's. Everything we've had is delicious and cooked perfectly. We look forward to future visits!
We selected this restaurant since the advertisement indicated the restaurant was haunted and the food was good. I made a reservation online and we arrived a few mins early. Even though the restaurant was packed we got right in time for our reservation. Our Waitress was so busy but was always there for us when we needed something. Everyone's dinner was outstanding and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. I would highly recommend this restaurant for both ambiance, service and food!
They didnt know how to handle a busy night well at all. So many plates dropped/broken, our food took a LONG time, kept having to ask for more water, no one named the oysters we ordered, etc etc. also, my husband said that his baked stuffed shrimp was several levels below how good it normally is. He and I were so embarrassed for bringing in town guests there. We talked it up so much only to be very disappointed.
Went there for my birthday. The food was nicely prepared and beautifully presented. Really fresh fish and vegetables, plus the staff was wonderful. Worth the hour-plus drive to go again!
Nice atmosphere although a little noisy. Excellent food and drinks. Outstanding service by Michael. A little pricier than other comparable restaurants but worth the extra expense. Of course I did indulge myself by ordering the lobster pie at market price of $46.00 so that added substantially to the bill. We will definitely go again.
Wonderful food and amazing service!!! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Amazing lobster roll, great service, delicious sides.
Great food! A bit noisy, and a bit pricy. However, the food and service were fantastic. I will be back!
Exceptional food, friendly and attentive staff. Busy place!
Delicious seafood is the name of the game!! The excellent quality of the seafood, generous servings in a lovely wood paneled room with a helpful, friendly staff make it a great place. Turner’s came highly recommended to us, first time visitors to Salem MA. We’d gladly return!
I stress how quiet it was, but that was probably because we came in late and it was pretty empty. I imagine earlier in the evening it was probably noisier.
The food was fantastic and the service was wonderful. The staff made sure that we had anything we needed. The food was fresh and everything was prepared for optimum flavor.
We went there for light food. However, our food this time around were not as tasty as our previous dinners there. Lobster bisque was too thick and salty, steamers were sandy and salty, but my daughter loved her oysters. We may have gone there in between their sifts and we will go back for dinners.
The food was very good, but we had to yell at each other to talk. Sometimes I could not hear what the person across the table was saying. Our server was very attentive and very knowledgeable about items on the menu.
I’ve never had a bad meal at Turners. Great service and they don’t skimp on the portions. Food always tasty and delicious 😋
We got a parking spot right out front and we were seated immediately. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived (12:15 pm) but was full by the time we left. The waitress was friendly but didn't hover. The restaurant is nice and sufficiently air conditioned. The food was sensational; the fish was lightly battered and not overpowering, the onion rings were hand breaded, light and crispy. The fruit compote we split for desert was wonderful. This was our first time eating here and we came based on the reviews I had read. It lived up to the reviews and we were not disappointed. I will most definitely be back.
Great find - enjoyed our meal after a day at the Museum... Seafood was fresh and prepared well.. Would definitely recommend ...
It's hard for me to focus on food when we both ordered non-fish items at a fish restaurant. The food was fine. But the reason we like it there is the ambience and the service. It's like a high end Boston restaurant. The manager always asks us how we liked our meal, and the wait staff is well trained. This time, the waiter went above and beyond to make us feel special. It was a special occasion for one in the party and the waiter would not let us leave without providing dessert. I can't tell you how wonderful that made us feel! I wish he'd been a waiter at the previous restaurant I'd just dined at!!
3 of us thoroughly enjoyed your restaurant tonight. All our meals were exceptional. We’ll definitely be back!!
We were in a room with a table too close to ours. And the people next to us were unreasonably too loud. While the food was delicious, the ambiance was mediocre at best as a result of the seating arrangement.
This was one of the best dining experiences on our vacation. My haddock piccata was the best that I have had anywhere. My husband's lobster roll was fresh. This was absolutely worth the money for the food and the history of the place (Lyceum Hall).
Very good dinner. Good service, just could use more of everything like butter, sour creme, cocktail sauce. Very small amounts of each given at first for some reason. Otherwise excellent.
Love seafood and Turner's was mentioned on city tour as being one of best. Food was great. I was there at 5 so not hard to get a seat but it did get busy.
We visited Turner's for the first time this past Wed. We drove up to Salem from PA to enjoy a nice couple of days in town...along with a seafood dinner. We chose Turner's based upon the wonderful online reviews. We reserved a time of 7 pm through OpenTable.
We actually arrived in town an hour earlier than expected and stopped in to the restaurant to see if they could seat us earlier. The gentleman at the front, John (Mgr), was welcoming and said "no problem", to our earlier seating request. He had the hostess seat us almost immediately at a table located in the bar area. The waitress, Diane (or Dee Dee as she was called), was awesome from the beginning until the end. We highly recommend her. She was friendly, knowledgeable re the menu items and made sure that my son's celebration was a special one. She made sure to check the notes that I had left in OpenTable and sang Happy Birthday to my son. The restaurant also gave him a complimentary dessert, a piece of the chocolate torte, which was the ultimate. The lobster, lobster bisque, strawberry vinaigrette salad with goat cheese, crab cakes and seafood medley are also great items to try if you decide to come here. If you have a special date to celebrate, and like being treated to excellent seafood in an enjoyable atmosphere...then this is the place for you! We will definitely be back!!
Enjoyed the meal. We went light with an appetizer and salad. The meal was great. Can be a little loud depending on where you are sitting. Service was good -- there when you wanted them to be but not hovering.
Everything was excellent. Food was delicious, server was attentive, and I always think the prices are reasonable. We had a great Sunday dinner out. Thank you!
We visited on a very busy Saturday night. The hostesses were not all that friendly, but in the end, they were very accommodating. Our meal was fantastic. We had the homemade crab Rangoon, fried seafood combo, surf & turf (filet mignon and baked scallops), and the key lime pie for dessert. We had noted on our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, yet they still sat us in the very noisy bar area which did not feel very romantic or cozy. They actually put us next to a table with three active kids. Despite that, they gave us a complimentary dessert because it was our anniversary, not because we complained about the seating. Our waitress was decent...quick but not very personable. Overall, the food was great, and we’ll be back, but there were some aspects of the experience that were not ideal.
Consistently excellent food. The fish is FRESH! The crunch salad is delicious and splittable. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and fun!
But I wouldn’t attempt to go without reserving on Opentable first. When we came in, we heard people being told 2 hour wait! Not unusual I think, the place is always packed!
We were a party of seven on a busy Saturday evening, but the staff did a great job seating us in a not-so-loud area, and bringing menus, drinks, and dinner fairly promptly to our group. The seafood and other choices were fresh and delicious, and the manager/owner was great about coming around to check on everything.
I sell seafood internationally for a living and Turner's had the freshest and best prepared seafood I've had in a very long time. Everyone who was with me raved about their meal. The crab cakes at Turners are more crab than breading and were fantastic. I will bring my Boston seafood buddies up to Salem to enjoy Turner's cuisine.
Great place for lunch/dinner. Service was excellent. My sisters-in-law and myself were treated by my husband for our August birthdays! Turner's Seafood treated us to dessert!
A perfectly delightful evening with exceptional service, (Thank you Jason)
exquisite dining and a fun atmosphere.
If you are visiting Salem, Turner's Seafood is the place you must visit!
Excellent fresh fish perfectly prepared. Atmosphere is comfortable and laid back but well put together and pleasant.
