Turner's Seafood - Melrose Ratings and Reviews
We took a friend there on Sunday night. She was visiting us from Rhode Island for the weekend. She and I both ordered the scallops, which were excellent: flavorful, and not overcooked. When the manager came around to see how we were enjoying dinner, our friend praised the scallops, saying they were the best she'd ever had. (She's 73.) However, she was unhappy with the baked potato because it had something unappetizing inside. I probably should've sent back my steamed brocoli, which arrived cool and seriously undercooked. But in the interest of being able to each my dinner all together, I didn't. My wife, who order salmon, was very pleased with her dish, which she's had at Turner's many times.
I have always loved Turner’s but this visit was later on a weekend in the evening. My order was over cooked according to the server and they were making me another .It seemed extremely long and three tables got their food before me. It must of been one of those nights but put an damper on my experience that night
We had a fire drill before our meal came and everyone had to evacuate. When we got our meal when we came back in and it was overcooked. Probably stayed under the heat lamp to long. We think they should have started over with our meal when the cooks came back in.
I have never been here- Service was great-start to finish. Ambiance is charming. Drink were very reasonably priced but found the entrees somewhat high- Had shrimp cocktail- no complaints there- but got a broiled seafood entree that was very small for 26.00$ I understand seafood is expensive but was somewhat taken aback. Would not stop me from returning but will be more aware.
This place uses to be my go-to spot on a weekend evening. Now it's just alright. Food is good but nothing like it once was. The desserts used to be amazing and the specials always caught your eye. It seems to be running on auto pilot now instead of with a focus.
Went on a Sunday, fairly quiet. Waitress was very pleasant. Started with Clam Chowder which was room temperature and not very good. The $27 lobster roll was ridiculous. Hardly any lobster and all I could taste was the roll which was very thick. Also had fried clams that were cold. I didn't complain about anything as the waitress was very nice, but that's the last time for me.
Took my girlfriend to Turners for her first time and I had been there many times for lunch but never for evening dinner. It was very busy, very noisy, however after you were there for a little while you get used to the noise. Our server (can't remember her name) but she was awesome. She gave use the extensive list of specials without a script or notes of any kind. You could tell she liked what she did and was ready to take great care of you and that she did. Our appetizer of Lobster Bisque was top notch, my girlfriends scallops were delicious and my pub fish and chips were just like I remember them, outstanding. What a great evening!!!!!!
