Much better than average Indian food. Not your standard Indian fare because they have dishes from all over India.

Very good Indian food with a friendly wait staff. Ordered a couple of their non-veg Thali dinner meals and it had a lot of good variety. It was quite for a Saturday evening and I'm wondering if it is because of the location. Def. will come again.

We have eaten here before (same dishes) and enjoyed it. The food has been good and good value. However our meal tonight was disappointing.
The pakora appetizer was soggy and consisted only of 3 small onion rings, and a few battered potato and zucchini slices.
The shrimp makhani was a nice portion and the sauce was tasty as usual however the shrimp were smallish and so over cooked that they tasted like hockey pucks. When told, the waiter shrugged, muttered " sorry about that" and offered to pack it to go.
We are not likely to give it another try despite having enjoyed it previously due to the "could care less" attitude.

We visited for the first time and enjoyed it. The food was very good. We had an early reservation so they were not busy - hence the low noise.

A

The wait staff was very attentive but not intrusive. I ordered the lamb rogan josh which I thought needed a little more seasoning. However, with condiments, it was fine. My table
companions all enjoyed their meals - lamb vindaloo, and chicken with spinach (which I tasted and thought was delicious). The restaurant was moderately busy on Wednesday night and it
was easy to converse. This is a neighborhood restaurant for me and I would certainly go again.

Tumeric Indian Dining has been our favorite place to get a fix of authentic Indian dining. The menu is extensive and includes a wide variety of regional dishes. My favorite is the fiery Lamb Vindaloo - when they say it's spicy, they mean it! Service is always impeccable and friendly, and they take the time to answer any questions and explain how dishes are prepared if you ask. They are my go-to place for Indian food!

Still as good as ever. We lived in Vienna 2 years ago and used to have the buffet lunch at least once a week. Tried it again last week and we were positively surprised that the quality and food and service hasn't changed. Great buffet!

We (husband & wife) have been 7 or eight times early on Friday evenings. The food has always been excellent, and distinctive among local NoVa Indian restaurants, refined, balanced, with good quality ingredients. Some of the dishes, i.e., lamb saag, are outstandingly delicious and a great value. Some, like the chili paneer appetizer, are outstandingly delicious and a very poor value in terms of quantity. It all works out. The small wine selection is good enough and fairly priced. The breads are OK, but not their strong point.
Service is not their strong point either, despite the fact that they are very friendly, personable, and even somewhat hip. The service is structured in that annoying way where you may never see the same person twice, except when each of 5 staff come by as you're finally trying to eat to make sure "everything is OK."
Last Friday night, we were greeted, seated, menu-ed and abandoned for 7 minutes as usual, interrupted by water delivery after about 3 minutes. When a female server appeared with pad in hand, I said, "we're ready to order." She said nothing, so I said we’d like a bottle of the Malbec. “A bottle?” She peered at my menu where I was pointing, wrote it down, but turned on her heel and disappeared for another 6 minutes. Someone else showed up with the bottle, opened it and filled our glasses more than half full. Again I asked to order. He disappears, the female reappears. I order the appetizer, my wife’s meal, some bread… and then I want to ask about one of the 3 specials, a tandoor red snapper. I said “can you tell me what the red snapper comes with?” She wrote something down and then said she would repeat the order back to us.
The good news is, every dish was superb that night, even better than usual.
If you go, and you should if you want some lovely food, go with time in hand, leave your type A self at home, and be braver than I about asking for a competent speaker of English.

The title says it all. The restaurant wasn't super busy on a Saturday night and the service was still extremely slow. The entrees didn't come out at the same time. They forgot to bring us dishes we'd ordered several times. Overall just not great service! But good food at a decent price.

Nice atmosphere; delicious food; great service. There was a pretty good crowd on Saturday night but not packed. Other times - weekday evenings, etc - there have been very few patrons so I hope they have enough business to keep it going. It really is good!

Wife and I have been several times in the last couple of years. Service has always been attentive, friendly, and accurate. The cooking lately has suddenly become more to my taste. Their spicing as always been deep and complex, but "heat" has been lacking, even if requested. Lately, if you ask for very spicy, you get it, and it still does not compromise complexity. Very satisfying. All the vegetable dishes are top notch. The Saag Lamb is outstanding and a great value. The Malabar Fish Curry (I asked for extra spicy) is mind blowing. I'm not sure the breads are up to the standard of everything else. Highly recommended.

They have a decent lunch buffet for $10.99. There were 2 kinds of chicken, goat, lentils, spicy mushrooms, potatoes, spinach, plain basmati and saffron, bread, pappadum, some sort of dessert, I cant recall all, but everything I tried was good. I got a couple samosas to go home. They were good, too. The staff was friendly. The ambience is barebones, functional. I would not choose it for date night. We ate a late lunch so there was only one other customer there so dont rely on my noise rating.

The service was good, but we found a few issues with the food. The veg curry was a bit bland.
The "lamb chops" were really mutton chops. Not good, too chewy. The garlic bread tasted
of old garlic. We were disappointed.

We love Turmeric! The best Indian food from all different parts of that vast country, served in a very pleasant laid-back atmosphere. Everything is cooked to order and is exactly as you ask-- the butter chicken is the best anywhere and the breads are great too. Let me give a special shoutout to them for sending HOT milk with the cardamom tea!

Excellent lamb and goat dishes. Different entrees for a party of 8 were all served at the same time which everybody appreciated. Service was efficient and prices reasonable. Everybody liked the food and nobody would hesitate to come back to the relaxed atmosphere of this restaurant. Food was plentiful and there was no room to try the desserts.

An Open Table/Turmeric Indian Dining confirmation with correct information was sent on Saturday: our confirmed reservation for a party of 8 on Sunday was for 2:15 P.M. However, when we arrived just before 2, we were informed that, through a gross error/ miscommunication on either Turmeric Indian Dining's part or Open Table's, our reservation was written in the host's book as 12:30. There was now no room for our party on this understandably busy holiday. A complete fiasco and very inconvenient disappointment.

We have been here several times and are always thrilled with the food and service. our go to favorites are Chiken Tikka masala, Lamb rogan josh, lamb vindaloo and Lamb pasanda. Naan is excellent and they serve puri, a rarity in DC area for Indian restaurants. Samosas are excellent as is Dal. Raita is a bit too thin in consistency for my taste, my only complaint!! Prices are reasonable and restaurant is small and quiet.

My wife and I live nearby. We had been to Turmeric's predecessor Aditi. We had yet to try Turmeric. We really enjoyed it. The service was great. The food very good. We ordered the Chili Paneer as an appetizer. It was quite tasty. For our main course we ordered Korma and Pasanda. All in all a very good outing. We'll be back and will order take out in the future.

Went at lunchtime and ate at the buffet. While the number of dishes was not extensive, the variety was good. I am not a vegetarian but I recall only two vegetarian dishes, one of which was vegan. While the buffet was sufficient in variety for me, the menu items also were available. My only complaint is that it would have been nice to have more naan. Every dish I had was delicious. I would go again if in the area.

We have dined here several times. The food is good but not outstanding. Meats (but not fish) can be a touch overcooked to my taste, but almost everything else is well prepared. Room is full of hard surfaces so it can be "energetic" if the place place is full or you have a noisy group there. The price is very moderate, it is tough to spend more than $30 per person with a glass of wine. That makes it a good value for us.

The restaurant is very nice with linen tablecloths and napkins and the setting is fairly lovely for such a small restaurant in a strip mall. And after that things went downhill fast. We had to ASK to place a drink order. My friend ordered an appetizer only and I also ordered one. Hers showed up and it was another 5 minutes at least before mine showed up WITH my entree! By then her appetizer was cold. We ordered bread but it never arrive. (We were not charged for it.) Again it was another 5 minutes or more before we could flag down a waiter to order beer. Had to flag down a waiter once more to ask for a check. Food was nothing special. tandoori chicken wings that were ok and goat curry that really had no flavor. We won't be back!
