We have been to this place several times. Good food and great service. It was quiet our last visit - and the service seemed a bit rushed. Yes, we were off to the ballet but they didn't give us a chance to taste our cocktails before the starter came.
So less rushed/more attentive service next time
Very prompt service. Excellent per-ballet menu. Good wine offerings.
We have lunch there on our ballet subscription days. The menu is excellent and the service wonderful. A totally enjoyable experience.
The location and food are well worth the visit. Ideal for an Opera evening meal.
Excellent vegetarian options, everything we ordered was delicious
You feel like your dining in the hotel lobby. There are people waiting with luggage and not much separating diners from the people checking in and out. I ordered the risotto which was tasty but a not very big portion and my wife had the steak frites salad which was a small tip of sirloin with a French fry salad. Not frites. Disappointing. Would not dine here for dinner again. Ok if you’re waiting for your room to be ready and want a quick bite.
Tundra restaurant is the perfect place for pre-show dining. It’s welcoming, handy and provides good value. The food is excellent while somewhat unimaginative and is served by cheerful, competent staff.
Great atmosphere and service!
Excellent food, service and value for your money. The theatre menu is a fantastic idea. I wish more restaurants would do this. I will definitely return and recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
The experience was shot from the beginning. Our server didn't even say hello, or ask anyone how they were, he just shouted "water?" "Ready to order". Absolutely no care or effort was made to serving. The food was mediocre, nothing special or anything rave about. Definitely a miss.
We booked a reservation for 8:15, - took 5 minutes for someone to even seat us. In addition, when we asked for a quiet table , we were placed in a noisy area, and then very close in proximity to another couple. The table arrangements were terrible, just rows of tables, with no sense of ambience or privacy. Then post-dinner , loud table arranging . Not a cosy atmosphere at all.
The overall ambience is wonderful. Attentive service, good portion of dishes, creative presentation on foods, sit comfortably, roomy. My most satisfying lunch ever.
The lounge singer was great! However the waiter was really pushy asking for drink orders literally as soon as we sat down.
We’ve been here many times as we often go to the opera but this Winterlicious menu was outstanding! So many layers of flavour. I had the cod and my husband had the pork chop. We both loved the meal.
Attended Winterlicious here so it was an experiment. Very good service and quiet. Food was very tasty and fresh.
The room has a paradoxical warmth and a sci-fi futuristic look, the service is warm and gracious and the food is sumptuous and delicious.
wait staff seemed a bit frazzled and disorganized over the lunch time. I noticed several diners looking for their waitstaff but unable to locate. our food took a bit long.
our overall meal took 2 hours partly because the dishes took long to come out.
ambience is fine but food is just "ok". chicken was undercooked which was a turn off.
I see no standout reason to return.
We went as a group of six friends for Sunday lunch during Winterlicious. The atmosphere was nice and not loud, with lots of light streaming in. The food was great; my favourite was the brussel sprout and mushroom salad. Our server was also great and they were very accommodating with regards to dietary restrictions. I would be happy to return.
We dined at Tundra during Winterlicious and found the experience disappointing. The food did not live up to the taste promises of the menu (which was exciting to read), except for maybe the dessert. The service was rushed and not attentive. The bill had to be corrected. We sat in a busy area with servers rushing behind us. I had really looked forward to dining at Tundra and to being able to recommend this restaurant to my friends from around the world who will be visiting Toronto in June for the Rotary International Convention. Unfortunately, my recent (and only) dining experience does not enable me to recommend Tundra with confidence. It should be said that we were warmly greeted, both on arriving and departing, by the person at the front desk.
Came here for my birthday with some friends. The food was very delicious. It was quiet when we first arrived, but it livened up around 7:30.
Food was good, not the best though. Could use help with staff, food quality, and service.
We usually avoid hotel restaurants, but tried Tundra because of convenience; we were quite surprised by food that was imaginatively conceived and capably executed and presented.
Everything was great!
Good food for the price, lousy service sadly.. very slow and not very friendly what so ever
Amazing food. Heads off to the chef
We enjoyed our dinner very much and the service was good. We had to be finished by 6:30pm as we were going to the Nutcracker Ballet which is just across the street so very convenient.
We had a special Nutcracker meal and the first two courses were excellent. The desert was a complete disappointment. I did contact the hotel but have not heard back.
Good meal and a good experience. Look forward to going back again in the future.
the atmosphere was very pleasant and the waiter was exceptionally friendly and helpful
Great place to eat, friendly service. My son was really happy with the Nutcracker special offered over the holidays! Thank you.
We come every year when seeing The Nutcracker. The staff is great. The menu is fantastic and also specific to the ballet for the evening. It’s just lovely.
Nutcracker Menu excellent for kids ; had a great experience & will return.
We chose our meal from the "The Nutcracker" menu. The salad and calamari appetizers were delicious as were the Cornish Hen and Salmon mains. The seafood dishes were cooked to perfection. The sauces were unusual and very flavourful. The disappointment was the dessert tray. The miniature desserts were very ordinary. This marred an otherwise excellent meal and left us feeling disatisfied. It would have preferable to have one high quality dessert to finish the meal on a high note. The service was very attentive.
Our food came out so slow and the restaurant was not busy.
Casual dinner for 5. First server had an excellent knowledge of wine menu. Unfortunately he only returned to serve drinks initially. Multiple servers attended our table, while each were polite, this made for a less welcoming experience than expected. Refills for drinks were slightly slow and had to be requested. All meals tasted good, but nothing stood out as excellent. Portions were smaller than expected. As an example, the butter chicken curry was suggested to be a filling main; yet, was less than so. Poutine was massive, and appreciated as the guests that were hungry after there mains helped themself to my plate. Excellent mushroom and braised beef option for the poutine. Very quiet and lacked a cosiness aspect.
Awesome food and service!!
We ate here prior to attendance at the ballet, as we usually do, but this time we had a very pleasant female waiter who took very good care of us. We have had efficient, but perfunctory service from some of the male wait staff in the past. This was pleasantly different. The food was delicious.
Thoroughly enjoyed our Dinner at Tundra. Service was excellent. Very receptive to our timeline to make it to the Ballet. Wonderful Food and Atmosphere.
I went there for breakfast with a large number of kids. The price was reasonable for the Buffett but the selection was nothing to write home about. In fact I have stayed at this hotel and ate breakfast on the executive floor and the breakfast there is far more superior. I noticed many had complementary coupons for breakfast which may be the reason the selection and quality was less that fair.
The service however was delivered with a smile despite the waiter being very busy and having to service several tables.
Good option if like me, on an occasion like this have several kids and cannot (do not want to) venture too far on your own, and need to stay in the hotel, but if you can try to get in to the executive floor and have breakfast there instead.
Hilton hotel lobby restaurant; has a wide range of options. Wine list adequate, not expensive
