Steak and scallops were ordered; both very good. Liked the presentation of the food; menu is pricey but received a good amount of food; No bread offered before meal; Service was friendly and our food came out in a reasonable wait time; The atmosphere is modern and fun.
Food was ok. Nothing stood out except that the fried calamari was AWFUL!! Worst I've ever had and we order at pretty much everywhere we go. It was barely edible. Service was good. The place was EMPTY for a Memorial Day weekend. Passion fruit mango mojito was GREAT as were the fried brussel sprouts.
The food and beer at Tun Tavern were fantastic... once we got them. We (party of 5) were there on a busy Friday night, but we had made a reservation weeks in advance. However, they had lost the reservation, and we had to wait almost half-an-hour for a table. Once seated, beer service was quick but an order of two appetizers took a very long time. After eating those, we had other plans and had to leave - a round of beers and two appetizers had taken us 2 hours!
I really liked what we ate and drank but would only recommend going here during off-peak hours. Even if you have a reservation and get seated, expect to wait a long time for orders.
Fun place. Very busy due to the convention center and boat show. Was still seated on time. I had the grilled chicken sandwich which was served on a pretzel type roll with avocado and tomato. Nice thick grilled chicken and not a patty. My wife had their veggie burger (option on the Turkey Burger menu). Another big meatless patty with avocado and tomato. Beer was good. Mine was the American IPA which was a bit cloudy and OK. My wife had the Crimson Ale which was very good. I would get that next time.
We had reservations but were told that they weren't honoring them. The hostess was very rude to my husband, our waitress was great. My husband told the waitress about how the hostess wouldn't honor the reservation and the manager immediately came over. She was very nice and explained how the hostess was incorrect and she would speak to her. She even offered us desserts to make up for the inconvenience. That is a great manager!!!
Food was excellent as was the service.....definitely will eat there again.
Our 44 y.o. son recommended the TUN. I didn't expect it to be a sports bar type place. He didn't specify. He just said it was a nice place to go to. Anyway, the management/wait staff made it special for a New Year's Eve dinner. Lindsay was an awesome waitress and her manager (don't know her name) was also very pleasant. When she came by to clear the table a bit I joked with her if she was allowed to do so and she replied, "absolutely". We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will certainly visit again. Thank you!
Stopped in for dinner before a show. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Free parking right across the street. The cocktails were very good. The food was good bar food. If you're looking for an upscale bar with good food, great service and convenient parking, then this is a good choice. Also had live music and, if you're a beer drinker, they have their own brewery!
our waitress took forever to come to our table and take our drink order. mind you there was probably only four tables seated at this time. so we ordered an appetizer and still no beer came to our table. the beer didnt get to our table until we had started on the appetizer. waitress was inattentive and unpleasant. she didnt even introduce herself. she came to our table and asked if we were ready to order when we didnt even order drinks yet. when we were done we waited for a growler while the staff stood at the bar gossiping (our waitress included). overall the experience was bad, definitely will never come back.
The description provided on Open Table in no way matched what this place offered. The crab cake sandwich was entirely inedible. The waitress never asked how our meal was even after clearing the table with that sandwich having had a single bite taken out of it. It was only after I received the check and asked if they received many complaints about it did she tell me her manager said it could be taken off the check. Had I not said anything, we would have had to have paid for it. Everything we ordered seemed pre-made, frozen and reheated.
From the second we got there.we were early for our reservations and they didn't make us wait it or even make a big deal about it,they just seated us immediately.The wait staff were extremely nice and patient being our first time.We all loved it and would recommend to anyone and everyone.
We were in Atlantic City, reserved Tun Tavern last minute with the OpenTable app. We arrived a few minutes before our time and with a few people before us, we were all seated quickly. With making reservations it seems that you are seated in a different area than the walk-ins. Staff was very nice, and the food was fresh and good. We started with the chicken wings with BBQ sauce. These were big, crispy, meaty wings. My wife ordered the scallops which she liked, I ordered the filet mignon, cooked to my liking of black and blue... We have been to some steakhouses where wait staff had no idea what that meant, and here at a micro brewery they did it right. The portions were sized right for when we eat out we hardly ever have room for dessert, but here we had the cheese cake and the salty Carmel cake. Both of which were nicely presented and rich. All in all we would go back again, but after all it has been a long time since we were there last.
My wife and I were staying at the Sheraton and on our way to the Tanger Outlet stores, so we thought it might be convenient to eat at Tun Tavern since it sits adjacent to the hotel. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and the chicken was the driest piece of meat I had ever eaten. When I mentioned it to the waiter, he informed me that all the chicken breasts were precooked in the morning and then re-grilled upon order. He suggested that next time I should ask for a "freshly cooked" piece of chicken so it won't be so dried out. Next time? Really???
We had been here a year ago and remember the experience so different. We were staying at the hotel adjacent to the restaurant and where there for a dance competition. Originally our reservation was for 4 people and another dance family also had a reservation at the same time for 4 people so we went down to the restaurant a few minutes earlier to ask if we could combine the tables so we could all sit together. The restaurant was quite empty when we got there and they said they could accommodate the seats together, but that everyone in the party had to be there before we were able to sit down. Some of the dancers had gone back to the rooms to change and were on their way and yet we had to sit and watch others do the same. It was an odd thing to have us do. We would have started ordering drinks and appetizers had they allowed us to sit. It wasn't as if they were giving up our table so this made no sense. They lost the opportunity to make money on us cause we probably would have ended up ordering more food and drinks this way. When we finally sat we saw they had sangria on the menu. Four of us wanted some and we ordered a pitcher. The waiter came back and told us they don't do pitchers. Again a loss for them, cause we probably would have ordered at least two pitchers and instead we ended up ordering just one drink each. The food was your typical pub burger and wings kinda place. The burger was good. I made the mistake of ordering a chicken salad and requested they hold back the blue cheese which was on just about everything, yuck!!! The salad was delivered with the blue cheese on it. The waitress took it back and they simply just scraped off the top layer of the salad they prepared incorrectly leaving me with less lettuce and just a few pieces of chicken versus what was originally on the dish. The service was terrible and the food was way over priced for the type of service you get. I would not be going back again or recommending to others.
Our food was awesome and cooked to order. The handcrafted beer was excellent, the Devil Dog in particular. My wife actually met the owner while taking a picture of a Marine uniform hanging on the wall. Turns out, it was his brothers. The history of the place, as parents of a young Marine, is what initially triggered us to try it out, but the excellent service and food will keep us coming back!
