This restaurant had such great potential... Booked a reservation for 6 people for a pre bachelorette party dinner. Checks could not be split, restaurant was out of 3 different menu items we tried to order and we got no help accommodating a wheelchair. One dish we ordered was amazing and the rest was nothing special. Waitress was impatient and forgetful and left us alone for long periods of time making it difficult to get drink refills or anything else. The restaurant was not busy whatsoever for a Saturday night. Live music was a nice plus.
Made a reservation & only waited 10 mins to be seated. Food was delicious & service was great, especially for how busy they were due to the Beer Fest. The only "complaint" we had was in order to accommodate such a large crowd, the pulled 4 tops apart to make 2- two tops, which works if the tables are in the middle of the floor, but the table next to us was up against the wall & the waitress had to lean over us to take their order & serve us & when the other couple was ready to leave, we had to stand up & move away from the table to let them out. This probably isn't typical, just a result of the Beer Fest going on next door, but definitely not an ideal set up. Otherwise, everything was good and we would definitely go back
Waited over 25 minutes just to get noticed by waitress only after grabbing her after seeing all 3 tables that surrounded us get waited on and served before we were even spoke to. After finally getting waitress I ordered soup and got none then ordered a crab cake sandwich for additional take out after our meal and had to be fixed due to order was given that I wanted a carb cake dinner instead, which was incorrect. Food was good, waitress was pleasant and we reserved tables so wait time was at a minimum. Been a customer in past and extremely unhappy with service. A manager should have helped this waitress as she got busier.
We were at a convention and needed to just get away...this was the perfect spot.... though noisy, lunch was decent good bar food. They are a brewery, so the place had the odor of hops and beer. overall ok place to eat for lunch..,reasonably priced with good service!
The service food and beer were all great. We went to try something new and had a great experience.
Tun tavern did not honor my open table reservation because it was a convention day. The restaurant is located across the street from the AC convention center. At last years convention, our wait for a table and our food was well over 1 hour. This year, the same exact thing happened. Tables all around us were seated and served while we continued to sit and wait for our food. After 2 complaints to The management and the promise of a discount to our bill, the food arrived cold- as if it had been sitting in the window waiting to be take to us for quite some time. Lightening does strike twice. At next year's
Convention, we will pack a sandwich and eat it on site.
Our experience with the food was great. My friend enjoyed her beer. Our server had no personality with us and was frankly rude but would leave our table and be joking around with our server friends. Took forever to get napkins and ketchup since ours wasn't on the table. We asked for desert for my friends birthday and it was like a chore.
Tun Tavern had one of the best bacon burgers I have had in a long time. Follow that up with a nice cold brew and it is a perfect lunch.
Not sure what to say....The waitress was nice.
My wife and I went there for dinner. Ordered drinks, app & meal. Didn't have the beer I wanted, app came out cold (had to send back) meal was "ok" nothing to write home about.
Alittle pricey for what we got.
I will put this same review on Tripadvisor
I made a reservation for 6:30 and arrived about 10 minutes prior. The lady taking names told me there was a screw up and they were not supposed to accept any reservations. They sat us at the next available table though and we did not have to wait for the groups before us (about 4) to sit. The area I was sat in was not very spacious. The waiter kept bumping the back of my chair when trying to tend to the table set up behind me. Out of 4 plates ordered, we only had an issue with one meal. My fellow diner order the crab pasta. When it arrived, it was only pieces of crab in sauce. There was no pasta on the plate. We notified the waiter and when he returned he stated that they had no more pasta. In return they comp'd that diners drinks.
Shane was an awesome server who made the experience what it was. I will be stopping back the next time I am in AC.
Went for a business dinner. Dinner arrived before our soup and waiter was surprised. ??? Food was ok but not worth the price. Seasonal beer was very good. Much better options in AC.
I won a gift certificate for the Tun was never there before. At first we thought the service was going to be brutal because there was a large crowed from the convention center. But we were surprise they have a very good system where your server takes your order
But then when your food is ready another server brings your food hot. I can't blame the rest. There was a cheer leading competition
At the convention center and they place was a mad house. With that said our food was delicious and hot. We are going to give it a try one more time in a few weeks.
We didnt need to make reservations. We had to wait anyway they didn't recognize the reservation
Went with a group of 6. Almost no one in the resturant. The waitress was quick to get our order in, but the food took much longer than it needed to with the lack of customers and the type of food ordered. fhe quality of the food does not match the price you are paying. In house beers were very good.
My fiance and myself arrived a little early to TUN tavern on New Years eve. We informed the woman we were early and was this ok. She grabbed the menus and handed us over. We previously visited the website and booked the reservation for 7 based on the New Years dinner special. We asked Adam if we could order the specials, he asked the what we initially thought was the hostess if this was alright. Adam said the manager said "If you want to order the special for New Years you have to get up and move to tables on a lower level of the restaurant". We were already sitting enjoying wine and did not want to get up and move. I looked at my watch and it was ten of 7pm the time of our reservation. I thought how rude. We wont ever be back.
The title says it all. We went at 930 on a Friday nite. There was one other table and two people at the bar. For a "Do AC" spot, this was dead. Our food was standard bar fare. Our sandwiches were very good, as was the crab soup. A bit more energy in the restaurant, which is not the fault of the establishment, would have made this experience much more enjoyable.
Hot roast beef sandwich was surprisingly good. Buffalo chicken salad very goo d also, but a bit too much lettuce. Clam chowder also very good, but chili non-descript. All in all, pleasantly surprised.
My husband and I are big fans of craft breweries. Whenever we go somewhere we always like to check out the town's local craft brewery. My husband found your restaurant and we visited for the first time. We always enjoy trying new brews with the sampler, and yours did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the service was superior!
The burgers were excellent. Also they have an excellent beer selection.
Tun tavern refused to honor our reservation mDe via Open table then made our oRty wait until all showed up before being seated. One of three meals returned to kitchen for dodgy preparation. Server did do well to make up for the kitchen's lackluster performance. Perhaps we went on an off day.
There was nothing negative to write about the restaurant, much like there was nothing to really rave about as well. The one thing that stood out was the pace of the service. Super fast from the point of ordering to the time the food was on the table. Standard pub fare with some higher priced options. The entire dinner with drinks for four people, including tip came close to $200. The IPA beer was very good and the rest of the beer line up was average compared to other microbrews. We will be back to try the bar again in the summer time when there is outdoor seating.
They treat you like family. Since I am Marine this is like going to my family's house to eat. The host knew who I was and the server treated me with much respect. Semper Fi
4 of us had burgers and drinks. service was prompt and food was good. we were not rushed out the door after eating...we stayed and chatted.
All four of us in our group had a great meal.
Had an early dinner- 430PM- with few people in the restaurant. the kitchen could not get things right. Starters overcooked, burgers not cooked to to our liking (ordered medium rare, recvd well done), forgot toppings on the specialty burgers, etc.
The blue-crab fries were delicious, though.
Waitress was great, and it seems that she dealt with this kind of situation often, where the kitchen keeps dropping the ball.
Nine of us stopped in for dinner and found the restaurant to be a very comfortable and friendly place to have dinner and a few drinks. The menu selection was good and the variety of craft beers pleased everyone in our group. The service was excellent and the manager went out of her way to make sure we were happy with our dining experience. Thanks!!!
Went for lunch while in Atlantic City... The place was empty- the service was terrible- burger overcooked- could not eat it- the waitress never even asked if there was something wrong with it as I left in on my plate- no one seemed to care about anything- no hostess/manager at desk! I just paid my bill and left.
for a quick lunch near the Convention Center. Burgers are good as well as the salads.
Good place for a burger. Our burgers were cooked well done as opposed to medium like we wanted.
It was an excellent experience. Food was great, I really enjoyed myself. We were celebrating our 10th year anniversary. The table that we sat at was a little small and a little wobbley. But we really enjoyed ourselves.
Food just OK. We wanted to avoid parking at a casino so we stopped here. Sandwich not what I expected.
We had read some not so-good reviews on Trip Advisor about this place, but decided to give it a try anyway since their online menu appealed to us for what we wanted to eat that night. It is next to, but not in the Sheraton, so that was a plus. They had a wine that I loved by the glass, so that was a very good start to our evening. My husband did their beer sampler, but they were out of two of the five but that was okay. Our server did a great job. All of our food was very good. If you just want a pub environment with pretty good food, this is your place. Also, the parking is free for Tun Tavern and the lot is directly across from the restaurant on the same side of the main street so you can't get any closer. Otherwise it's $10.
How do you go to a brewery and all the taps were kicked but bud light??? You make your own beer!!!! Never going back. Food was mediocre at BEST.
I grew up in the area and was looking for a place where I could meet family with 2 small kids. This place could take a reservation for 9 and it was pretty quiet on a Sunday afternoon. The beer was good and there were no complaints about the food from anyone. I got the fish and chips, which were very good.
The food was good, portions were just right - but the service was only okay. The host was on the phone for more than 5 minutes before we were addressed and they couldn't find my Open Table reservation in their system. Fortunately no one was in there so we were seated. We told our server we were waiting on one more person and that we would wait for their arival to order. she came back 3 times asking if we wanted to order and we finally said yes because we felt like we were being forced.
Tried each of the beers they brewed. All very good. All shared the grouper, shrimp scampi, tuna and scallops. All were very good. Also had lounge singer playing top rock hits which was awesome. Plan to go again.
I dined at the Tun on July 22 with a friend. He ordered the Salmon Oscar. The presentation was poor, but it was tasty. I ordered the scallops. They tasted like frozen scallops from a TV dinner. I will never order them again if I go back there.
My $11 Cosmo barely had any vodka in it. I was very
disappointed with it.
I hate writing reviews but I almost feel obligated Because it was such a wonderful experience. Service was the best I had all week in AC and the meal was phenomenal. Ask for Shaun or Steve and you won't be disappointed. Chicken Marsala was best I've had in about three years and the beers and dessert were a fine end to our evening before partying. Will be back with friends in tow. Thanks
Anytime we are in the mood for a good steak - we head to Tun Tavern!
My husband always enjoys the beer sampler.
