Tummies Restaurant

Tummies is top of my list for a lunchtime meal with work colleagues and friends. Good food and drink, great service and a comfortable atmosphere.

The flatbread and sea bass I ordered were lovely. Service was great although we waited a while for our starter.

I no longer live in the area but I'm always happy when I have an excuse to visit and come back to Tummies. I've been coming here since it opened, over 30 years ago.

Used to be one of my favourite places to eat, to say it’s gone downhill is an understatement. Menus non existent food bad

I would defiantly recommend staff were polite and very helpful , quick with ordering lovely feel to the restaurant .

Overall another great experience. Great choice of food if you're a meat eater, but the menu was a bit restrictive if you're a vegetarian or vegan. Also, it's worth noting that they don't serve any non cow's milk but I'd return again and recommend Tummies to others.

The food was really nice the service was excellent . The table position was poor,like being in a corridor. I do think the alcohol prices are to high . But over all an enjoyable evening

Great family restaurant with honest grub

Always enjoy a visit to a Tummies whether it's breakfast dinner or just a coffee. So handy to know somewhere that you can eat any time of day that is smart enough to take guests with confidence.

Food was very good and the service was excellent you are charged a service fee when paying your bill

Had a lovely time again as normal only disappointed as was no bubble and squeak on the menu.

The service was slow, waited 10 minutes for some one to come and take our order, the food didn’t take overly long considering one of us ordered the lamb shank but once we where finished the plates where left on the table for ages and the desert menus not given out. The food wasn’t all that either to be honest, which was shocking cause I had been there before and it was a completely different experience. Once asked if we wanted desert and given menus, we waited for 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order and then another 10 minutes to get the deserts out. It was slow to say the least, not planning on going back there again any time soon

As usual Tummies food lived up to it’s usual high standard, only gripe is that they had a large party in the function rooms, consequently service was slower than normal.
However because of this the service charge was offered to be removed by way of an apology.
Paid anyway.

The Food and service were great, it was quite noisy so hard to hear eachother talk but that’s not the restaurants fault. Great evening had by all

It was overall a pleasant experience, the food was simple and done well. I felt looked after by a good amount of staff. We enjoyed it overall, i wont rush back though.

Fabulous food, excellent service.
The staff were very good and gave recommendations as we were struggling to decide what to have. The food was excellent, satisfying portion sizes.

We first went to Tummies 30 years ago when we worked round the corner. Its still there, still friendly, still well-run. Lovely little place.

Our first visit to Tummies was a little underwhelming. The entrance from the car park was shabby and the inside looked a little tired and dirty. Service was a bit patchy. Sunday lunch was nicely presented and tasted good. Possibly slightly overpriced with service charge added on top, but the child portion was very reasonable. Ambiance was lacking, no background music. Overall a bit of an average experience.

Great service, the staff are very attentive. The food was great apart from the Vegan Burger, which was new to the menu, but was unfortunately a little bland. Overall though, a good evening out.

Girlfriend had avocado prawn and crab meat starter . Not one prawn to be seen . Showed waiter he said that is how it comes . I had ribs , miles over cooked and smothered in bbq sauce out of a jar ..
Two beers , two glasses of red , two starters and two cheaper mains . 86 quid . Not for me again I'm afraid .

Good food and good service. The scallops were very good and we had also ordered the warm bread which was so good.

I ordered the pasta with mushrooms but that lacked a little flavour but still okay.


Overall, a good friendly place.

A lovely meal, beautifuly cooked, ideal for a special birthday treat but a little on the pricey side for every day, but would be quite happy to visit again.

The meatballs didn’t taste as good as previous. It’s like they were
Homemade but lacked flavour and were an odd texture

The food was great, the service and staff were excellent, the only slight issue was that it was a bit on the expensive side but other than that we will definitely be eating there again.

Local for us so always a good place to eat or pop in for a pint. The menu has stayed stable for some time and this makes for a popular vibe place .

Breakfast booked for Saturday morning for my daughters BD ,

Nice meal today. My haddock and mash was lovely, the cajun chicken my partner had was great, the burger was good although a little small and the kids meals were basic but good quality.

Slightly disappointed after ordering 2 kids apple juices to receive them in plastic cups. The kids were 3 and 4 and could handle a glass. Hopefully this was just a one off and they think about the environmental impact.

I'm not a fan of adding 12.5% for tips. Pay the staff properly and then let the customer decide how much to tip.

I would probably visit again.

Fabulous evening with family and a friend (very much a foodie!) visiting from France and cannot fault anything at all - love everything about Tummies. Lovely atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff (special thanks to young man I think was called Casey?) and the food was just wonderful. Tummies never fails to impress anyone we take there and this was no exception. Thank you so much, this was a really special treat.

Went with our 2 young children, food was nice but we were sat next to a table of 6 adults who thought it was ok to sit swearing throughout the meal whilst we sat next to them. Restaurant was empty so maybe next time think whether it is suitable for a young family to be sat next to an all adult table! Ruined the dining experience for us.

It was lovely to meet the new owner who seems happy to work with Tummies winning formula. Good luck in the future for this special eatery.
