Highly overrated if this is Michelin star quality. Despite our reservation the host had to check where she could seat us but half the restaurant was empty and stayed like that for the duration of our visit. Food was mediocre. Staff had no idea about the wine list and could not provide any recommendations other than the most expensive options on the wine list. Food came in sizeable portions but lacked any finesse or distinct taste.

This is a discreetly elegant restaurant that has original twists to virtually all types of Indian food Appetizers, entrees if every variety and drawn from all quarters of India. Desserts also original Good sized portions and good variety of breads
Outstanding friendly helpful service. Full bar good wine choices
An epicurean delight, unusual for an Indian restaurant

Had lunch during Restaurant week. Was extremely disappointed in the food. Food was extremely spicy even after I alerted the server to limit the amount of spice, which the kitchen did not. Portions were minuscule. Definitely over priced at $29.00 . Would not recommend. There are far better Indian restaurants in New York.

Waiter came to the table to take order and never saw him again. SERVICE WAS SLOW It took almost two hours to serve 3 courses when we said we on our lunch hour. We saw our appetizer go from table to table until 15 minutes later we got the appetizers at our table0 COLD. We had been in here before but this time it was NOT a good experience. Won't go back.

Food was served cold, naan were raw and they finally got it right at the 4th time.

By that time, the entrees were almost done.

No apology offered for the erratic service. Huge disconnect between what a Michelin star stands for and this place.

The cuisine, is just average.

We have been to Tulsi before and had been pleased with the food and service. Today was very disappointing. We asked for and received tap water and were charged $6 for it! The waiter also took our order 15 minutes after being seated. 30 minutes later he comes back to ask if we had ordered and then asked if we had ordered with him. He walks away and comes back to tell us he had failed to put the order in. We finally received our food an hour after being seated. The manager never came over to apologize and we were charged full price for the meal. The place was not at all crowded, especially for a Saturday night, understaffing was not the issue at all.

Very disappointing service. Food was good but overpriced.

Unfortunately the food quality was really poor. Gobi manchurian tasted like tomato ketchup and the panner entree was lacking the creamyness. Overall very disappointed.

With each table separated by nice sheets, and soft lighting, the ambiance is beautiful. With prompt, attentive waiters, the service is top notch. But the food - the food is to die for. Absolutely perfect, with every dish bringing its own unique flavor to the table, and not too expensive either, especially for the generous serving sizes. If you want amazing Indian food, look no further - you will leave full and very, very satisfied, without a doubt.

Not what I expected from a one Michelin star restaurant. Seemed more in line with any nicer Indian restaurant one might dine in but you pay Michelin star prices.

This was not our first time at this restaurant but it is certainly our last. The AC was broken but noone bothered to give us a heads up before we were seated so we had to sit through the entire spicy meal in July with no AC. They opened the door to let some air in but with that came in the mosquitoes as well and I was bit several times. As far as the food goes, it is OK but not the best. I've had better meals at this place before. I don't know why it deteriorated so much.

Food was good for the price. The restaurant does not offer high chair which was odd and surprising. When asked about it, they said its a fine dining restaurant and they don't want kids making loud noise. Not ALL kids can be loud and what about guests who get loud after few drinks??? I do not agree with them.

Also open table and the restaurant should clearly mention on their website if they are not going to provide an infant seat or if children are not welcome. This policy is weird.

I was in New York with a friend and we wanted to eat at a Michelin Starred restaurant. Looked up Tulsi and it was in our price range and conveniently enough was close to our hotel. We both decided to go with the tasting menu and it did not disappoint. Dish after dish came and we continued to be impressed with the attention to detail in the way the flavors worked in such harmony as well as the presentation. Our server did an excellent job at explaining each dish and made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for fine Indian cuisine.

I'd wanted to take my wife here for a while. It worked....she's repeatedly thanked me for taking her and loved the tasting menu, the ambiance and the service. We will definitely be having dinner there again. Meanwhile I get to enjoy lunch there on an infrequent basis as I work about a block from the restaurant. Lucky me.

Tulsi is a great Indian restaurant but like all restaurants, there can be an off night. We had always had great dining experiences here but this night was not our night. All 3 of us at our table had stomach aches right away after eating something. The staff did make a nice recovery in tending to us.

After eating at Junoon about 1 year back, this time I decided to try Tulsi. I tried their lal maas, which is basically goat curry with some coarsely cut garam masala (as much as I could figure out). The chili wasn't excessive, which was good. Overall it was a good dinner, but it did not wow me.

Went for lunch. Where can you find a Michelin star restaurant in NYC for lunch $25 Prix Fix?
I had the business lunch and wife had dishes from the regular menu. We could find no difference in quality or value. Fantastic and will do again. The only Michelin star restaurant that I have found for lunch that was less expensive was Tim Ho Wan in Tsim Tsa Shui. $12 USD for 2. Go do this.
