Tula's Restaurant & Bar
Excellent dinner with very attentive and pleasant service. The crab cake was delicious and my husband’s hamburger was cooked exactly as he wanted it. We were very pleased.
Beautiful outdoor patio - fabulous atmosphere, dog friendly. Loved, loved loved our dinner here.
Night before dinner at the Inn at Little Washington. Obviously different category but nonetheless excellent. Thoughtful menu, reasonable corkage fee, altogether nice evening. Highly recommended.
The food was fresh and delicious. Scallops with chipolte sauce was amazing! My wife had the chicken sandwich and she said it was fabulous too. Nice wine list too.
Second trip to Tula’s. Outstanding as expected. Crab cake is best anywhere and the caeser salad is easily shareable. Nice wine selection too. Looking forward to their patio dining this Sloan’s summer.
The space tended to echo with noise and I was surprised by the total lack of ambiance in the dinning room, no pictures or artwork and zero textiles to absorb the noises from kitchen and other diners. Really surprising given the fact they have been there quite a while now.
Our group had a great dinner at Tula's. Food was excellent, variety to suit everyone's tastes, great service. Highly recommended.
Special - shrimp and grits was outstanding
It took a little while to get our food but it was worth it
Great beer selection
Service was personable and high quality
The owners, wait staff and chefs were amazing. If you are in Washington Virginia don’t miss this treat!
Outstanding meal, swordfish and crab cake. The Caesar salad was large enough for two. Reasonably priced, attentive service. We will definitely be b@ck.
We greatly enjoyed our quick dinner at Tula's before the movie on Friday evening. The service was great and the burgers and barbque were quite good. The fries are outstanding.
One of the best lunches I ever had. Very relaxing. Outstanding food and service. Will be back often.
Very good customer service on a busy Friday night. Service was very good, made great recommendations for the food on the menu. overall, good experience.
We were very disappointed with our experience. The food was high priced but was awful. We heard the chef yell at waitresses. My crab cake wasn't fully cooked and my bun was burnt. My husband's pasta was oily.
Excellent menu choices, well prepared and presented. Service was outstanding.
The quality of the food far exceeds the service. I have dined here many times, this was perhaps my last. The straw that broke the camels back was when I tried to flag down a server and the young lady in the open kitchen saw me, waved and grinned, and went back to work without asking a server to check in with our table. This stick in the eye was not appreciated. There were other failures of service but this was really over the top.
Food was excellent! Quite a very nice find and great experience! Would highly recommend!
Wonderful birthday dinner. Good selection of wines to chose from. Excellent tasting and creative meal. This was our second visit...we look forward to our next one.
We needed a bite on friday noght, after driving out from DC. We have been to Tula’s Many times, but this meal was the best we have had in quite a while. Crab cake on a green salad was just the right amount of food without seeming heavy. Very tasty. My husband had the pulled pork and go sandwich, and gave it good marks. Keep it up!!
We enjoyed our visit to Tula's. We were looking for a place to have a casual dinner, and it was recommended to us by the owner of the B&B we were staying at in town. Tula's definitely has a strong bar scene. We went on a Friday evening and the bar area was very crowded. The owner of the B&B said it is definitely a favorite hangout of locals. We were seated in the main dining area which was less crowded and quiet. I enjoyed the pork and fig sandwich. The fig chutney was very sticky on my fingers, but the sandwich was just yummy. My husband enjoyed the pimento cheese dip and a wedge salad. Our server was good and made sure we were properly attended to. I would recommend Tula's for a good, casual meal if you are in town.
Our first-time visit to Tula's revealed a charming restaurant with some of the best food we've ever enjoyed anywhere! The staff was gracious and efficient, the entire experience wonderful!
Good and casual
We had a wonderful time at Tula's. It was a special occasion for my wife and I, and the staff was incredibly helpful in working with me beforehand to make everything just right. The food was terrific and the service was first-rate. I will definitely stop there again when I'm in town.
This is our go-to place for special occasions. Server Hannah was fantastic this time. We have never been disappointed by the food, the service nor the attention given to us.
Fantastic food! Everything was fresh and flavorful. This was just our first visit, we will definitely go again. Pricing is moderate and worth it, of course drinks are what increase the check quickly. Went for dinner and want to try lunch and brunch for sure!
I had the scallops and my husband had the steak. Both were excellent.
The food and drinks were good and the service was friendly. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio and were encouraged to linger and enjoy the evening.
Limited menu, but tasty and well-prepared. Service is slow and staff is overwhelmed. Great little casual place if you’re not in a hurry.
The food was good, but it seemed like our server had never done this before. She didn't seem familiar with the menu and although the restaurant was not crowded it took close to an hour for us to get our food. Then my salad was served along side of my main course. There was not room on the table for it all to fit well, but she didn't seem aware of that. She also had trouble with knowing what beers they offered. But, as mentioned earlier, the food was good.
Tula's food is very good, but it appears woefully under-staffed and its acoustics are horrible. It is worth it for the food, if you are patient with the service and not affected by the noise.
We (party of four) went on a Saturday when it rained off-and-on, so there weren't too many customers. We received the complete attention of the serving staff, who were very friendly and helpful. Megan was exceptional! The food was served in a timely way, plated beautifully and tasty. A little more variety in the menu (say one Asian-themed appetizer and main dish) would have been great, but the items on offer were tasty (a little less fig jam in the pulled pork sandwich, please). Desserts were superb, we had the bread pudding and the creme brulee). It would be worthwhile checking how well Tula's does when there are more customers--is it much noisier, does the food take too long to get to tables, etc., but my guess is that there won't be much of a difference.
Excellent food at reasonable prices. Excellent service, however a bit long on receiving meal. Excellent ambiance and would have loved to try the outdoor patio but was too cool an evening. Looking forward to returning.
Mussels were perfect; missed having bread to sop up the sauce. Scallop and shrimp dishes were perfect but needed bread to get every drop of the delicious sauces. Restaurant was cool for me but I'll bring a shawl next time. Wonderful service. "No rush" dining made for a great evening with friends.
Great food and friendly staff.
The service was bad and the ambience is flat. We got there before a large group in the bar came. They had been served bread first and we had to ask for ours. The ambience is just like a regular cafeteria style restaurant, no frills to create any type of ambience and they charge a higher price for food and wine like 4 or 5 star restaurants do. We were celebrating my husband's bday and they didn't do anything special. It is not about freebies, it is about the special experience they bring to the table-they joy they evoked that make customers want to come back. Nothing special to this place I have to say. We even had to walk our bill to the cashier as the server didn't come for a while to claim the payment. I'm just telling it like it is.
Quiet, romantic, great food and the service was exceptional.
Great service and great atmosphere!!!
I met friends at Tula's before a concert across the street. We had dinner and a bottle of wine. The food was fantastic! Service was great. Will definitely return for a casual, relaxing time, soon!
Dined at Tula's on a Friday night with my family and the service was the worst I've ever received. It took over half an hour for our drink orders to be filled and almost an hour for our food to be served. The waitress forgot to put in one of the orders and decided not to put it in at all when she realized her mistake, as she claimed that the quesadillas "take a really long time to make" and therefore she figured we wouldnt want to wait for it. The food that she did remember to order came out seconds before we had to leave to catch the play we were seeing at the community theater across the street and therefore we had to take everything to go. The server never apologized or acknowledged the poor service, she even remarked that perhaps it was our own fault and we should have arrived sooner.
What was supposed to be a fun family outing turned into a stressful and disappointing evening.
