Tucson's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
The service was fine, ambiance what you would expect my husbands steak was inedible. We think the wrong item was served. It was replaced by the correct steak but by then I was finished with my dinner and sat while he ate.
I would say this restaurant is nothing special. Fine if it’s your only choice
My wife and I drove from Wichita to dine at Tuscon's and were very disappointed in the quality of the food. I had prime rib and it was at least half gristle and fat. My wife had Salmon and it was very dry. Also, when my prime rib arrived it looked like an 8 or 10 oz. piece of meat instead of the 14 oz they had on the menu....The waiter asked how the food was and I asked him to look at the part I couldn't eat and he said he'd talk to the manager. That's the last we heard regarding the terrible prime rib and not much better Salmon!! Needless to say, we'll not eat there again and I'm sure they couldn't care less. Unfortunately a very expensive meal, especially driving from Wichita to specifically dine at Tuscon's!!
The food was something that you might go to Sam's Club and buy and warm up in the oven at home yourself no good taste at all my cheesy corn was cold my mashed potatoes were lukewarm the bread was awful had no taste to it the only good thing was too sweet tea the waitress had no personality
Food was generic and unimpressive. "Loaded" mashed potato was a burnt pile of some kind of potato with no ingredients loaded on it at all. Smoked meats were not worth, and neither was the loaded chicken.
Go for happy hour deals as drafts were fine and apps would be ok at half price.
My two friends both ordered the chipotle shrimp from the summer menu. The shrimp was nasty. It was tough and tasteless. My friend brought this to the attention of the waiter, Vincent and told the kitchen I guess. Other than that he made no mention of replacing her meal, getting her something else to eat, money off NOTHING. What gives?? Don't you want customers to be happy and come back. It just made for an unpleasant experience for me as I was celebrating my birthday.
The food and service were excellent, although I would like to see more vegetarian options. I realize it's a steakhouse, and we went for my husband who is a meat eater. However, I am not a meat eater and there were't many options for me. The main thing we did not like was the noise. It was so loud we had a hard time hearing each other talk.
The best and biggest chicken tenders I've ever had in my life - honestly. The honey mustard dip was excellent. The baked potato - fantastic - I didn't even put any cinnamon, sugar or butter on it. I do wish one of the side options with the entree would be a house salad to start the meal off - guess I'm traditional. I like my salad, then meat and potato.
Overall a good experience. Our waiter was great he had 2 large groups and managed them well. Drinks were great (especially the peach margaritas). The kitchen staff was no help to him however. They struggled to get our food out and to the proper people. All the food was great and prepared perfect but between the kitchen and the table was the difficult part for some reason!
This is a Local owned restaurant and everything is great .I just wish I could get a Table on Friday or Saturday night it is too busy. We don't care for the chain type restaurant like Applebee's Chilies Out back .You can tell this isn't hauled in frozen and heated up .Their Meat comes from Smokey River Meats raised here in Kansas .We went here when we got engaged 12 years ago and still love it.
We stopped in Salina Kansas for the night - I had made a reservation based upon the reviews - and I always like to eat "local". I won't be coming back here in a few weeks when I'm back in Salina. This was so disappointing! Let's start with the salad and soup. The salad had so much water in it that it was a bed of water at the bottom. My husbands Potato Soup tasted like it was several days old.....don't ask about the bread, our server never brought any (I was looking forward to the bread - it could have been the best part of the meal)....entree: My husband had the rattlesnake pasta based upon a recommendation from the server and I had the chicken fried steak. My husband (who will eat almost everything) took a few bites and said he couldn't eat anymore of it - it was BLAND with hardly any chicken in it. My chicken fried steak I believe was coated with the same breading as they would bread their appetizers in....please - do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
Everything was just excellent! Dave, our server and bartender was most attentive and courteous even though he was busy. I had the beef brisket, very delicious and "melts in your mouth". My wife had the chicken which was also very very good.
Will definitely dine in next time we're in town!
Not at all what I expected from a "steakhouse". Personally, I didn't care much for the experience and won't go back. The atmosphere wasn't that nice, my steak was tough, and the clientele in there was like going to eat at an Applebee's. The bacon-wrapped jalapeños and shrimp were good appetizers though
This place is probably the best restaurant in Salina as it doesn't have much competition in the "nicer" restaurant category. It's basically a rustic steakhouse/bbq. The seasoning on my steak was very good and the steak was cooked to my liking; however, I don't expect a strip steak to have a lot of gristle but this one had it on both ends of the steak. The baked potato and broccoli definitely should have been hotter.
We had open table reservations but it still took them about 10-15 minutes to seat us.
