Nice atmosphere, just a little loud with the music. Service was great and entertaining. Will be back!
Service was extremely slow and food was almost inedible. One person in our group ordered the cheeseburger and enjoyed that
It is hard to find a "kid friendly" restaurant these days that is also grown up friendly :)
Tuckers Tavern had a great wine list, great beers, great food, clean restaurant and bathroom, great friendly, patient, kid-friendly server that knew exactly what we needed. We would be back for sure and would absolutely recommend this restaurant!
My only complaint is that we booked the table on Open Table, I checked in with my name, exactly at 6pm, had a great dinner experience, but later that night I received an email that the restaurant cancelled the reservation. An email to Open Table rectified the situation and I was given the points, but TT should educate their front of the house staff on how to check people in that use this awesome service! Thanks!
I do not think that Tucker's food and service are as good in October as in the summer months. I don't know if they are under staffed when it is out of season or if something changed, but the food, while good, was not "as good" as it is in the summer months. One exception was the pulled pork, which everyone who tried it raved about. I had fish filet Francaise and it was mushy and bland. The fried pickles, which we usually love, were somehow under-cooked and, I guess you would say "hard". The calamari was also kind of bland. We were not offered bread for the table, which I think was odd, as I thought I remembered getting bread in the past (but I could be wrong on this point). I would recommend trying in the summer months.
We had a beautiful brunch with our adult children and their spouses....our A-Team! The service was perfect, as always, and the food was delicious. The French Toast was superb!
Took way too long to get our food!
Our last night of vacation we have been to Tucker’s for dinner 4 years in a row - this year was disappointing. It seems like the menu has become more limited while the prices/value isn’t what it used to be. Paying $5-10 more for a dish I can get somewhere else doesn’t sit well with me, besides knowing I can make the same thing for 50-70% less.
The noise level outside has gone up- obviously they have cranked up the music for the lower level of outside dining to compensate for the noise in the upstairs Buoy Bar but it was challenging to hear each other and we gave up talking at dinner. Our calamari was not fresh - obvious by the rubber band texture that stopped me from eating more than a couple pieces. My mixed drink was $10 and really only worth about $6. Of the servers in our area, only 1 seemed to actually care about his work & his customers - thankfully that is who we had. But even his attempts to be on top of things were eclipsed by the less than exciting affording meal choices & the noise & incessant bombardment of flies trying to enjoy our food before we could. This may have been our last time at Tucker’s 😞 which stinks cuz the marina & sunset view is delightful.
Thanks to Open Table and Tucker's our party of 7 was seated promptly. Before dining we grabbed a drink at their rooftop bar, Buoy Bar which I highly recommend. Dinner is consistently good at Tucker's and the service top notch.
Okay so I know it's off season in LBI, however Tuckers is open all year so poor service is unacceptable. Our waiter came over in a timely manner and took the drink and starter order. At that time he said he would bring over bread for the table. The drinks and the starters came although there were no serving utensils, so serving was a mess. Still no bread...so we asked the server who brought the starters and that didn't get any attention. Finally the waiter came back and I asked him if he could bring the bread he forgot to bring. He said he would bring it over, and 5 min. later he brought us 5 rolls and 5 pats of butter for the table of 8??? I got his attention and he came back. I simply asked how many people were at the table and he said 8, I then asked him why he would bring 5 rolls? He said he would get more and he did return with the second basket.
We frequent Tucker's both in and off season and the last visit 4 weeks earlier was great, the manager came by to make sure all was good and followed up on a slight issue. Not this time, the tables around us were empty and un-bussed for quite some time, doesn't make a great impression for our out of town guests.
The up side was the food, which was on point as usual. If you stay open off season you need to make sure you don't drop the ball just because it's off season, if that's the intention then close off season to protect your reputation, rather than burning the year round customers.
Food good, service great. Plenty of room in dining hall, bar crowded. Great drinks!
My first time but my wife had been before. It was a good experience. The restaurant was not crowded though the bar was packed. Food and service were good.
Salad was great, oysters were great, two pan seared mahia mahi entrées, served on a corn cake with slaw, both were terrible. Fish was dried out and without flavor, corn cake was delicious, slaw just OK! Server took one entrée of the bill.
We are very thankful for the open table option. The reception/host area was a tad chaotic with the usual entitled old ladies stepping in front of the rest of us in line. Regardless of that scene, we were seated quickly. Our server Dylan H was fantastic. We had great apps/meal- scallops and salmon were delish
Great place and very good specials. They accommodated a party of 8 in a beautiful spot on their outdoor deck . Be back soon :)
Fantastic from start to finish- the receptionist seated us where we wanted right away-our waiter was Mike and he was cheerful, and so helpful. Definitely our favorite waiter this summer! The additional wait staff that stepped in were also nice and helpful. The food was delicious! We strongly recommend the shishito peppers only a few were really hit but they were done perfectly. The seafood Cobb was loaded with seafood. The drinks were perfect as well. The view of the boats coming in from the bay in the outdoor seating section made this a spectacular end to summer celebration! Kudos to management for excellent staff hires from reception to wait staff to chefs - well done!
My request was satisfied that we had the round table since we are deaf and see each other on round table. The waitress was very pleasant and understood our communication mode. The food was very fabulous! We’d like to go back in the future.
Nice atmosphere, good food. So loud, no conversation.
Our waiter Cooper was wonderful. View was excellent and food was great.
A very nice casual restaurant. The staff was very friendly & quick. They had great live music & food that everyone would enjoy from young kinds to those who have more refined tastes. Very glad we went & would definitely go back,
Love this place. Always a must when I’m on LBI! No complaints ever.
Loved the high tops at the outdoor dining!
Great place for families! Fun ambiance!
The food and cocktails were si delicious!every friendly staff that tool great care of us even on a busy Sat. We will be back!
Consistently has greatly improved over the last several years (about 10-15 visits).
Sat on the deck. Great meal and great service. The braised short rib dinner was excellent.
91 st Birthday for my uncle Bill !
Favorite beach go to dining establishment. Great food, fabulous service that never disappoints. Buoy bar is a great addition with its beautiful views.
Great food and ambiance!
Restaurant is beautiful. Our server was not good. Had to ask for bread and just got the overall impression he would rather be somewhere else. Husband ordered the filet medium rare recieved a dry barely medium steak. For $40 should be perfect.
We arrived a half hour early than our reservation to have a drink at the bar. The bar is large and only had 2 other customers. The bartender came over and handed us a drink menu and NEVER CAME BACK. The bar then got a little busy and she took care of all the other customers and left us standing there with cocktail napkins in front of us and no drinks. At one point I walked across the room and told her we were ready to order when she was but that made no difference. We remained drink-less until our reservation a half hour later. We sat and ordered. I ordered the ravioli with crab meat and shrimp. Although it was delicious, they only give you 4 raviolis and the “lump crab meat” was non existent. Our server was very apologetic and he bought us a round of drinks, which I must say ended up being the coldest, most refreshing Coors Lite we’ve ever had. We enjoyed them very much. He was amazing and very attentive. Yes I’d go back but I would make sure I eat an appetizer first because I did leave still a little hungry. And I will order my drinks at the table.
It was great! Appreciate the gluten free options
Steak was unbelievable tender
Food is good but pricy. Service is adequate but nothing special.
The half chicken entree was amazing!!
I didn’t get any points registered to my account
Food was good, service not so much. Most probably it was our waitress, she seemed very distracted. We ordered two dishes exactly the same, she thought it was going to be shared. Also, when we needed her, she was nowhere to be found, at the moment of getting the check, for absolutely no reason she did not passed it to me, instead, she put it o the other side of the table. It was a weird experience in terms of service.
Awesome atmosphere. Great food
Great vibe, amazing service (friendly, happy, kind, approachable, energetic). Live music (great songs), adult and child friendly. Fun, clean, good menu options.
Wonderful experience and gives us a great feeling for LBI
This was probably the worst service I have ever experienced. We made a reservation online and specified we wanted the restaurant area for seating. We get to the restaurant and they are swamped. No biggie, we made a reservation, so we aren't worried. We go up to the hostess counter and three employees are up there, all visibly flustered and confused. We then are asked to follow the hostess to our table. She tells us they seated someone else at our table. She suggests we sit at the bar. We explain we are under 21, but she says it doesn't matter, it's fine. Regardless, we didn't want to sit at the bar, and we insist we don't want to. She tells us to stand by the hostess/host stand until they figure something out. We wait about 3 minutes, then she takes us to another seating section of the restaurant. We think this will finally be solved. We are then seated at this high top up against a second bar where they are making drinks for seated customers. We are right next to traffic of people walking through, and we have employees cussing right behind my ear as this table we are at is practically in their work space. We are getting more and more disappointed. Then a man comes over who appears to be a manager, he didn't introduce himself. He asks how everything is. We said we aren't happy playing musical chairs. He says he is sorry and walks away. He does nothing else. We also happen to see empty tables still open and we are still confused as to why we are seated at probably the worst seat in this place. My partner decided to talk to the hostess again and point out these empty tables and if we could please move because we had a reservation. She finally moved us to a normal table. The possible manager then comes back over after we moved to a normal table and says "ah I see everything got worked out!" which was strange since no on seemed to care to do anything. No discount, no other apologizes. Basically, everyone seemed like they had no idea what they were doing.
We were disappointed not to have a view of the sunset and our entrees did not come out for 45 minutes after a soup appetizer was delivered to one of the people in our party. We had to inquire several times how much longer it would be.
