Tucci's Ratings and Reviews
We eat out frequently. We have not been to Tucci's probably over 10 years. I think they had a better menu then than now. Food was disappointing. There were four of us. The salads were good (although a bit pricey-- $8. I eat much better salad at Refectory or Lindey's for the same price or less. Of course you cannot put Tucci's and the other two restaurants I mentioned in the same category!). My wife ordered Crab cakes and a small order of baby Bella mushrooms. Normally crab cake we eat at other restaurants come pan seared. This was deep fried. Too greasy and heavy. Mushrooms came with a strange and strong spice. Neither one of us liked it. I ordered the only pasta dish that I thought would be not too heavy. I opted to add chicken to it. Pasta came in a clear broth liquidly sauce. Sliced chicken pieces added to it did not have any taste. To make my dish edible and enjoyable, I requested some marinara sauce and some parmesan cheese. With these additions, I made my dish OK. In summary, we wasted a good amount of money on food we did not like. If you have a refined taste for food, Tucci's is not the place I would recommend.
Service was excellent. Our waiter did everything she can to make our evening enjoyable.
I especially love Tucci's in the summer. Great outdoor area and atmosphere. I was pleased on this visit to have a booth in the back area where it was a little quieter. I don't think I would like a booth near the door in the winter. I expect it could be pretty chilly.
My wife and I celebrated a special occasion there on a Saturday evening and the ambience was very delightful . Really enjoyed the fire heaters outside and the wonderful jazz music, our waiter also was very attentive and extremely professional. Food options could’ve had a few more choices for vegetarians but overall food was pretty good. Overall had a wonderful experience.
We had a wonder time at the community table with friends. The bar was lively and friendly and our drinks were delicious. Dinner was wonderful. The service was just a little slow as it was a busy night. But we enjoyed spending our evening outside...and hearing some great music.
It was a very pleasant evening for all four of us!
The food was fine. The service was a bit lackluster as far as showing interest in the customers is concerned. The noise level was not conducive to quiet conversation, as I had hoped. The proximity made it convenient, given the fact we provided transportation for our guest. Overall it was a gods experience.
Tucci's never disappoints. Management is excellent and chef is excellent. Therefore the food and service are excellent. Patio seating is great when Ohio weather is cooperating. You don't need advance reservations. But if you are planning in advance, you can reserve using OpenTable. Atmosphere is very nice. This is not a formal, white linen, jacket and tie kind of place - but it is very classy and the food and service are on par with a high-priced venue. Highly recommended for couples, business gatherings, friend gatherings. Fine for families with well-behaved kids.
My wife and I came here for our anniversary. Upon arriving the place was very nice, staff was pleasant and we were sat right away. We requested a table and had no problem with them meeting our request. Once we sat down we noticed that it was extremely dark with very limited lighting. Now this generally makes for a romantic experience but it was almost impossible to read the menu, my wife actually had to pull out her phone and use the flashlight to see the menu specially with the numerous wine offerings. However this is a small inconvenience.
Our waitress came to the table promptly and was very pleasant, she went over the specials and informed us of their Sunday wine special. We decided to order a bottle of wine and it was quickly brought to the table. We ordered the Calamari appetizer, when it came it was a nice dish, presented well but in my opinion it was slightly under cooked. Some of the breading was soggy and could have used a touch longer cook time, the flavor was okay but I've had better.
My wife ordered the 6 oz Filet medium well, and I ordered the Dry Aged Ribeye medium. When we got the steaks my wife's was cooked fine and had a great flavor. Mine on the other hand was cooked very rare, to the point it was cold in the center. I let the server know and at this point she looked at it and said "oh ok so you'd like it more like medium well" as if I didn't know what I was talking about. The steak was no where near being medium and the insinuation that I was wrong and didn't order it correctly kind of bothered me. I LOVE steak, and I've had steaks in some of the best restaurants around like Smith and Wollenskys, Mitchell's, Ruth Chris ect.. So I know how it should have been. They fixed it quickly for me though and I was all set. The Ribeye had an okay flavor, however for an almost 50 dollar dry aged steak I was expecting more, it was just a little bland in my opinion. Overall we enjoyed it and would probably go back I just wouldn't order the steak.
Had very nice dinner for our anniversary. The hostess was attentive and apologized for our wait beyond our reservation time. We were treated to a complimentary cheese plate due to our wait. Dinner was great (lasagna and beef short ribs) and we were again treated to a dessert to share for our anniversary. We have been to Tucci's a number of times, usually for special occasions and we are never disappointed. Highly recommend!!
Unfortunately this was our worst experience ever at Tucci's. We were at the restaurant for 2 1/2 hours. The Oscar Crab on my filet appeared to be dehydrated possibly from sitting too long. The potatoes were hard as rocks and steak was terrible. Food took forever and our waitress was no where to be found for 40 min at a time. We were celebrating a birthday and desserts were dumped at the table without comment. We waited a half an hour for the check. The manager took care of our bill and apologized for the restaurant being busier than usual. We love Tucci's and this is not typical as we celebrate often here. I will highlight that the Shrimp coctail was great as was the Tuna Stack, possibly because it did not require cooking and sitting under a heat lamp.
We loved sitting on the patio! There was live music on a Tuesday night and great ambiance. The filet was delicious but the mushroom toppers I ordered were no good at all. The wedge salad was pretty good although I think Rooster's wedge salad is better. The service was pretty good although I'm not quite sure why I received a frosted glass for my first and second beer of the night but not for my 3rd and 4th. Maybe they ran out of frosted glasses?? Overall it was a good experience but definitely pricey for what it's worth.
I have a tradition of celebrating my birthday by having dinner at a restaurant that I have never been. This year I chose Tucci's. I had a 10 oz filet, asparagus and a salad. The food was excellent but the service and ambiance were both poor. My server who I thought was David (the name Robert appeared on the check) was not friendly at all. I had a 4:15 reservation as I was driving in from out-of-town and wanted to avoid traffic. My waiter acted as if I was putting him out by being there. Nothing was stated about the menu. I had to ask him twice to leave the wine list as I planned on having wine with the meal after my cocktail. My seat was near the kitchen even though there were few patrons. The noise level from the kitchen staff was loud and the language was inappropriate. I was also annoyed by the waiter's whistling. The food was good. I typically have dessert on my birthday as I do believe life is meant to be lived and celebrated. The dessert menu is limited, and the waiter made to attempt to entice me into a dessert. I walked across the street to try Johnson's ice cream. It was excellent.
With all the quality restaurants in the Columbus area that I have tried, Tucci's is one of the few that I will not recommend nor return.
We dined inside for Sunday brunch with reservations. 2 adults and one child. Service was prompt and friendly. We had 2 plates come out with mixed up orders but our server had them correctly fairly quickly. Brunch cocktails were all $9 so we passed on those...some were probably worth it but would've liked a less expensive option. All and all food was good and so was the service.
This was my first visit but my wife and I will be back. It is sort of a steak and seafood place with Italian accents. Very serviceable wine list. I had a scallop appetizer and Ahi tuna both of which were well presented and delicious. My wife had a Filet after a wedge salad, both excellent. We shared a very rich chocolate pot de creme desert. The only disappointment was the Bearnaise sauce for her steak was a bit bland. Our server was attentive, pleasant, knowledgeable, and effective. It is just a bit noisy inside but they have a large outdoor area as well. I highly recommend Tucci's.
