Outstanding food with unpretentious service. The lamb shank on Fridays and saturdays is the best dish ever.

I celebrated my birthday at Tuba with a group of friends. Sharing mezzes and entrées was great, the waitress suggested the right amount of food, and everyone was happy at the end. However, the restaurant was packed with groups and very loud, so this place is not great to have a deep conversation.

I have been to Tuba many times. The food is consistently outstanding as is the service and presentation. The portions are large and healthy. I would like to try their unique desserts but I never have room!

I loved our evening. I messed up the reservation, but Tuba was able and happy to accommodate our larger-than-expected group of 4. I had the kofte, which were awesome. I loved these when I toured Turkey, but I think these surpassed any I have ever had.

I'm always on the lookout for places with creative veggie entrees, so my partner and I decided to check out Tuba, and we were both delighted. We started with the ezme, which was awesome - huge portion, beautifully spiced, served with a generous helping of delicious bread, olives and dips. I could eat it every day. I don't even remember what my vegetarian companion had (some eggplant-based dish, which he said was delicious), I was so busy with my own entree - the lamb shank special. HUGE portion of succulent, falling-off-the-bone tender lamb, served simply with rice and piles of pickled vegetables. It was spectacularly good. They also have an interesting wine list, with lots of reasonably priced by-the-glass options featuring both Cal wines and a number of unusual European varietal blends.

The menu is a bit pricey compared to other Middle Eastern restaurants of similar type, but the level of food and service is completely worth it. As good as the food was, in fact, I'd rate the level of service even higher - much better trained and more sophisticated than I was expecting in such a casual place. The servers all worked together well as a team, and provided quick and intuitive refills on bread, water and wine in a very busy room. Well done by everyone. Next time I'll try to save room for dessert.

Adana and sampler cold mese plate was so wonderful and tasty. The Turkish coffee was such a great way to top off the night. We were so glad to be seated outside in the evening because it was very hot inside the restaurant. Service was wonderful and We will be back to try other dishes!

Yummy food, quite a bit more interesting than standard Mediterranean or Mid Eastern fare. Ambiance was comfoyand a little swanky, never kitschy. Service was top notch - what a wonderful crew!

This place had the best Mediterranean food I've had. The place is vegetarian friendly,
falafel with hummus, Dolmas and Moussaka were just amazing! Good selection of wine and beer, the food was served warm and very flavorful. The service was very good, they cleaned tables multiple times, filled water and changed plates. We had an amazing time and would strongly recommend this place!

It was notably warm in the restaurant. When the rare sunny day in SF happens, they might want to invent in some ceiling fans for the noise and the circulation.

As a frequent visitor to Turkey, I can assure all that Tuba serves the best Turkish food I have ever eaten outside of Turkey. The seasoning, preparation and presentation are spot on. The service is pleasant and engaging. I have eaten there frequently without a false note and will continue to eat there frequently.

First time dining here, but will definitely return. Food was very fresh tasting. I highly recommend the Cold Meze plate to share. Interesting wine selection and ended up enjoying a nice bottle of Turkish Sav Blanc. Service good, reasonably priced.

We were warmly greeted. I use a mobility scooter. They had noted that on the reservation and were ready with an accessible table for us. Service was personal and attentive. Offered a sample of two wine options and helped us pick one. The food was authentic Mediterranean. All the workers were Turkish. All three of us had wonderful dishes: shrimp, lamb chops and salmon. The sauces were yummy. After dinner Turkish coffee service was delightful. See the pix below for the beautiful presentation. We would all go back again to this neighborhood gem.

Tuba exceeded our expectations in every way. The food was very fresh, delicious bread (pide) baked on premises and pretty much spot-on in terms of authenticity. Great service, and a lot of fun. Bravo to Tuba! We'll definitely eating there again very soon. Thanks!

This was a wonderful choice to celebrate our anniversary. Excellent Middle Eastern/Turkish cuisine. I found the Dolmas the best I have ever had. The Mezza plate (all cold appetizers on menu), a must. Both the Baklava and rice pudding were excellent. One of us had the lamb, which was delicious, and I had the fish special. That was good, not great. Very mild and needed a little spice. The wait staff always available and very pleasant.

Making reservations is probably a must, as the restaurant is small.

The only issue was the lamb we did not finish (a lot of food), and choose to take with us (so we had room for dessert), which was not in the container when we arrived home. Very dissapointed.

I'm 34, born and raised in California repping a Turkish heritage, and never have I been to a Turkish restaurant Stateside that should actually be in Istanbul (when you walk out, you wish the Bosphorus or İstiklal caddesi was around the corner behind Lone Palm). TUBA serves a meal that would be the highlight of the evening for Turkish friends and family in Istanbul itself, and that doesn't require much by way of imagination.

The food is layered with complex flavors that work off each other but don't overwhelm: the food feels classic but not dated. The mezzes are carefully made and memorable (patlıcan salatası, cevizli ezme, sigara börek and entrees Adana, pirzola were all memorable).

I ate here for the first time last week, and came back excitedly one week later to introduce my friends to Turkish cuisine and culture. Well done.
