Came here in June 2021 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Serving staff all masked, and diners space adequately apart. We shared the cold mezze platter (tuba meze tabagi) with fresh bread (comes with olive oil, feta and a flavored butter) which is a wonderful way to sample all the cold appetizers- perhaps too much for just two. We accompanied our meal with a bottle of sauvignon blanc from Turkey. My partner then had Sarma Beyti kebab, and I had the lamb kebab. Both were delicious. We were unfortunately too full for dessert. Highly recommended.
The food is delicious! We had the Cevizli Ezme appetizer, the Falafel Salatas, and the HünkarBeendi - the lamb on this was tender and perfectly cooked. The Yakut red blend was great. Good service too.
The YELP reviews were strong, but the experience was very disappointing. After a major struggle to find parking, we ended up being the only diners for the hour we were the (5-6pm). For a middle eastern restaurant the food was quite bland. Hard to understand the high ratings.

We ate outside out front in April 2021. Bulgar balls stuffed with meat were delicious. Service was excellent and the rest of the food was very good. Entrees were $23 and up.

The food was excellent, and the service was good. Tuba’s park let was nice and warm with their heat lamp, but the park let itself wasn’t very appealing in terms of ambiance.

All of the dishes were incredible. The lamb was soft and juicy. Nice parklet dining. Head Chef/owner liked to wander around and see how everyone was enjoying their meal. That’s always a good sign of quality and care.

We went there for valentines dinner. It was raining and the restaurant manager asked us to sit on wet seat. He was rude and unkind. We left the place immediately

Great food and service! Given that they have to adhere to certain restrictions due to Covid our dinner was still enjoyable. Our waitress had an outdoor heater placed right next to our table which kept us warm.

It had been several years since I ate at Tuba. The food is even better. The Adana kebab and branzino entrees were delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. The lighting was a bit dark for my taste, but that could be my age. Definitely will go back soon.

Our group of 4 enjoyed our first visit to Tuba. The server accommodated me by closing the front door, since there was a draft and I would have had to wear my jacket through dinner otherwise. Someone opened it later, but I was grateful that they made the accommodation. We had the cold mixed meze plate which was great. We ordered one hot meza, the bulgur wheat, which was excellent. We had two entrees to share- both good, though the kofte was not as special as the other items. We had dessert but really did not need it. Ioved the baklava, but I was alone in that; my friend is Lebanese and he thought it was too mushy by far. I did not care for the mix of nuts and raisins- not great. Overall we liked the mezze best and will be back for more.

This place has been my worst experience with any restaurants in San Francisco. I have a suggestion for Tuba’s manager: if your waitresses are this much unhappy with working on New Year’s day, how about you just close on that day?!
I was amazed by the rude and unprofessional treatment that we received at Tuba’s. First of all, when we walked in, I told the waitress that we have a reservation and though the restaurant was half empty, they sat us next to the door! This is San Francisco. We know how the weather is, especially in January! Also, No welcoming, no smiling, just frowning to our face like we shouldn’t even be there! I raised my hand a few times to get their attention and ask for another table because I could definitely see other tables are available in the back, but they totally ignored us.
I usually use OpenTable to make reservations for my special occasions because I know that business owners do value OpenTable customers. This time I had friends visiting San Francisco for the first time. The behavior of the staff was so unprofessional that for the rest of that night we only talked about the horrible feeling that we got by going to this place and how it ruined their experience in San Francisco.
We asked the waitresses a few questions about the menu. They were not sure and said they will ask the kitchen, but never came back to us. They never checked on us during the meal. They made a huge mess with the check while We asked several times if they split or not. The food was nothing exceptional! In one word, we couldn’t wait to leave this place!
To OpenTable customers: if you are looking for a good service this is not a place to go. Please do more research!
To the owner: I highly suggest that you hire new waitresses or waiters because the crew that you currently have are not professional and are a big hit to your business. Please have in mind, what brings people back to a place is not only the food, but also the feeling! I will never go back to Tuba’s.
