We were there for the Sunday Happy Hour for sushi. Our reservation was for 6:30. Once we were ready to put in our order it took over 45 minutes for us to get all of our food. With the Happy Hour ending at 7:30 we were only able to put in one order of sushi l, which again was a disappointment. Our sushi also came on 2 huge plates which was difficult to sort through with their being 6 of us. Finally, our waitress did a great job refilling water once the Happy Hour had ended. So here’s the bottom line, if you plan on utilizing the Happy Hour, get there earlier than one hour before it closes.
We had a great sushi dinner prior to the Graham Nash concert at Ram's Head. The staff was wonderful, and very sensitive to ensuring that we had our food in plenty of time to enjoy it - and not be late for the show. Perfect location, terrific happy hour.
Went with a couple girlfriends for Restaurant Week. It also ended up being half price bottle of wine night (Monday). We ordered some sushi and pot stickers as well. Everything was great and only ended up being about $60/person (after tip). I definitely recommend it.
Food is always creative and good. Fun, upbeat atmosphere. Went for restaurant week and everything was excellent except for the Bib Taco which was too salty. We love Chelsea! She wasn't out waitress this evening, but we're big fans of super cute Chelsea.
Great date night setting with outstanding food and sushi!
Such a nice night. Yummy rolls!
We were there to celebrate a birthday. Everyone's food was delicious. Only one suggestion: All but one person in our party ordered sushi. The sushi was brought out shortly after appetizers. The other meal did not come out until everyone had almost finished the sushi. This happened on one other visit as well. It seems the timing of the non-sushi meals should be coordinated to be served with the sushi meals.
The pork belly was delicious! Tables are very close, it was very dark and hard to hear our conversation.
Always a pleasure. Great drinks! Great food.Great service. Exciting place to be in Annapolis. Our #1 favorite for ever!
Great place for a special date. The Maui Roll is my favorite!
Service was pretty bad. Food was below average. Were stuck in a corner behind a wall. This was our last time dining at Tsunami.
The sushi was fantastic, the cocktails were amazing but we'll go back for the great service.
Great place overall, good food great service and a lot of drink options. I loved the place but the music was way too loud and they seemed to be out of everything my date wanted to drink.
The food was FANTASTIC, cocktails tasty, and our server was on top of things. Love this place and everything about it!
Great sushi, music and ambiance- Overall great place for a date night
Amazing staff, food and service. We had a 10 year old a 4 year old with us on a packed Friday night. We showed up early for our table and we seated immediately despite a packed house. Delightful
It was superb. Service was excellent, the food was incredibly creative, and the ambiance enjoyable.
I have been to Tsunami's a number of times. During the Annapolis Boat Show or just when around town with friends. Always a festive atmosphere and the food is delicious. This particular time, I took my wife and our college age kids for Christmas Eve dinner. Sushi was awesome, service is always good; we had a great evening.
Simply, one of the best restaurants in Annapolis. Still going strong after nearly 20 years. Went w/my 2 sons for Christmas Eve dinner and, as always, we all loved it. Everything from the Tsunami fries to the tuna lollies to the sushi-always top notch!
A very sorry excuse for Japanese cuisine with amateurish service
Was disappointed with our experience. It was a busy Saturday night, but was very slow, food was not hot enough. Not typical of our past meals here. Will come back again but if it is a repeat of last night will have to cross it off the list.
Was very disappointed you took black rice and filet mignon off the menu!
Great location to celebrate the holidays w/ friends!!! Their sushi is the best in town and we love their happy hour!!
Enjoyed sushi, curry soup and shrimp wraps.
Great meal. Service was a little slow but everything was fine overall. The Annapolitan roll is my favorite!
The food is outstanding, but the loudness of the music makes it impossible for dinner conversation.
We love this place! Great fresh seafood! I love the sushi of any kind and the tuna lollys are delicious. The avocado salad is refreshing and delicious.
We chose to go early since we were bringing our 4 week old in her car-seat and they accommodated by seating us at a 4 top.
Atmosphere: I am not a fan of sitting close to other tables but this is what happens in Annapolis since restaurants need to make the most of their space. I loved the music and atmosphere for a Friday but we were exceptionally close to the table next to us which is why I gave it 4 stars. Though we were enjoying our own conversation the voices next to us were over bearing.
Food: Excellent- we started with sushi and it was some of the best we've had, maybe ever? We were deprived for many months since I was pregnant and this was a wonderful treat to finally get to have it again and it was wonderful. The menu was varied, had something for everyone- sushi and non-sushi lovers. Even people who are not fans of asian cuisine can find something unique and delicious.
Service: Our server was good, not great. I wouldn't put dirty glasses from another table down on our table to collect our plates... I am also in germ-a-phobe mode with our newborn so normally i wouldn't have even noticed this.
The service is mediocre at best. It was crazy loud. The food is good, but definitely not worth the price. Definitely better to go during lunchtime when it’s less crowded. And it’s a very young crowd. It’s more like a crazy rowdy bar than a sushi restaurant
Sushi was relatively bland, rolls were smaller than most places... nothing special overall. Service was good, waiter was fast and friendly though.
Tsunami is always great! Great service, great food and great ambiance!
Went for our anniversary and had a great time! The atmosphere was nice and it wasn't too loud for a conversation. Our server was super friendly and they had really good cocktails. We both got sushi and it was delicious, lots of variety and fair prices for what you get. Would def recommend!
Excellent service and a menu spanning seafood with a Japese flair with excellent steaks or sushi - a really nice mix of well crafted options well prepared. Beware the place is incrdibly noisy and there is no varied or quieter seating option in the unitary space so a group may be very happy with the food and really miserable that no one could talk to each other and be heard.
As always Tsunami was wonderful. Always friendly, great service and an outstanding fresh menu. Their Yomato's Tofu is so yummy! Sushi is outstanding. Love this place!
I have gone to Tsunami - Annapolis a few times because they are consistently amazing. Great customer service, great food, and great vibe. I used to live in NYC so going to Tsumani reminds me of great joints in the downtown area. The noise level is loud and it's small but it's AWESOME, they have such a great vibe! They tend to be busy so call ahead or make a reservation. I look forward to going back soon!!!!!
Ate dinner on a Saturday night with wife and our adult daughter.
My wife had the Kapow chicken bowl. My daughter and I had sushi. Both were excellent. Kudos to our waitress, Chelsea. She was delightful.
The restaurant is noisy so don't come expecting quiet conversation.
Our food was superior. Tsunami has several foodie entrees for those who aren't wild about sushi, in addition to really excellent sushi. The shrimp potstickers were different and delicious with innovative chili-buerre blanc. The raw Tuna Poke had crushed macademia nuts and chili flakes and was really delicious. The duck with blueberry glaze could have been a little more intense, but was quite tasty as it was. And the sushi was fantastic!
They have a small but well chosen selection of beers on tap and a wider variety in bottles. They also have some unusual cocktails that are well done and very tasty.
Great place to find some great Sushi, but also their Sriracha Mac & Cheese was a comfort food favorite - very generous portion and delicious. We also had their fried rice which was awesome. The $3 draft Sapporo Beer was also awesome. The restaurant is very loud and busy. The service was good, but not great.
We arrived early for our reservation and they seated us immediately. The restaurant quickly filled up and the noise level increased as the energy level increased. We got used to the music being somewhat loud. Our server was fantastic!! She was very attentive and kept us updated on our order. The food was amazing! The sushi is the best I've had in a VERY long time. My husband ordered the scallop dinner and the presentation was really cool. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who is planning a visit to/near Annapolis.
The food was okay at best but the prices weren't horrible until you factored in the drinks. THOSE prices were horrendous. They blasted horrible music the entire time which made it difficult to have a conversation. This place is definitely no "Ra."
