Tsunami - Annapolis Ratings and Reviews
We chose to go early since we were bringing our 4 week old in her car-seat and they accommodated by seating us at a 4 top.
Atmosphere: I am not a fan of sitting close to other tables but this is what happens in Annapolis since restaurants need to make the most of their space. I loved the music and atmosphere for a Friday but we were exceptionally close to the table next to us which is why I gave it 4 stars. Though we were enjoying our own conversation the voices next to us were over bearing.
Food: Excellent- we started with sushi and it was some of the best we've had, maybe ever? We were deprived for many months since I was pregnant and this was a wonderful treat to finally get to have it again and it was wonderful. The menu was varied, had something for everyone- sushi and non-sushi lovers. Even people who are not fans of asian cuisine can find something unique and delicious.
Service: Our server was good, not great. I wouldn't put dirty glasses from another table down on our table to collect our plates... I am also in germ-a-phobe mode with our newborn so normally i wouldn't have even noticed this.
Went for our anniversary and had a great time! The atmosphere was nice and it wasn't too loud for a conversation. Our server was super friendly and they had really good cocktails. We both got sushi and it was delicious, lots of variety and fair prices for what you get. Would def recommend!
Excellent service and a menu spanning seafood with a Japese flair with excellent steaks or sushi - a really nice mix of well crafted options well prepared. Beware the place is incrdibly noisy and there is no varied or quieter seating option in the unitary space so a group may be very happy with the food and really miserable that no one could talk to each other and be heard.
I have gone to Tsunami - Annapolis a few times because they are consistently amazing. Great customer service, great food, and great vibe. I used to live in NYC so going to Tsumani reminds me of great joints in the downtown area. The noise level is loud and it's small but it's AWESOME, they have such a great vibe! They tend to be busy so call ahead or make a reservation. I look forward to going back soon!!!!!
Ate dinner on a Saturday night with wife and our adult daughter.
My wife had the Kapow chicken bowl. My daughter and I had sushi. Both were excellent. Kudos to our waitress, Chelsea. She was delightful.
The restaurant is noisy so don't come expecting quiet conversation.
Our food was superior. Tsunami has several foodie entrees for those who aren't wild about sushi, in addition to really excellent sushi. The shrimp potstickers were different and delicious with innovative chili-buerre blanc. The raw Tuna Poke had crushed macademia nuts and chili flakes and was really delicious. The duck with blueberry glaze could have been a little more intense, but was quite tasty as it was. And the sushi was fantastic!
They have a small but well chosen selection of beers on tap and a wider variety in bottles. They also have some unusual cocktails that are well done and very tasty.
Great place to find some great Sushi, but also their Sriracha Mac & Cheese was a comfort food favorite - very generous portion and delicious. We also had their fried rice which was awesome. The $3 draft Sapporo Beer was also awesome. The restaurant is very loud and busy. The service was good, but not great.
We arrived early for our reservation and they seated us immediately. The restaurant quickly filled up and the noise level increased as the energy level increased. We got used to the music being somewhat loud. Our server was fantastic!! She was very attentive and kept us updated on our order. The food was amazing! The sushi is the best I've had in a VERY long time. My husband ordered the scallop dinner and the presentation was really cool. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who is planning a visit to/near Annapolis.
Just wasn't worth the wait .......We haven't been to this restaurant in a few years .We love the location (Annapolis ) and the sidewalk dinning-street scene but we where a party of 6 and it took all of an hour to get everybody served. Some ate while others watched , other waited while others finished and the food was marginal . Wouldn't do it again , too many other options along the street
We eat here every couple of weeks. The sushi rolls are all fantastic. Love the different kinds of fries. Have had Kobe burger, lettuce wraps, scallops, kapow bowl (teriyaki) and they have all been excellent. Fish and chips is a little greasy but everything else has been great.
I realize it was a Friday night and busy, but our server was mediocre. However, that was not my real bone of contention. I've been going to Tsunami since they opened, and I've noticed the last few times we've gone, the roles are maddeningly small! They didn't use to be this way! New sushi chef? I've also gone in many times for happy hour when rolls are 1/2 price and noticed that the rolls were a little smaller than usual, but for half-price, I'm cool with that! But, when I'm paying full price and my rolls are SMALLER than they are at happy hour, well we have a problem!
Love this place. It was the first time I actually dined in. Normally I to go and take it back to work. It was extremely loud but the weather was super warm so everyone was out in Annapolis. As usual the food was outstanding and the service. Love this place. Just wish they opened earlier :)
