The food was outstanding, nice portion sizes, creative menu. The setting is comfortable, we were a party of 6 and could all hear each other. Our server was pleasant, however, we needed to flag down a manager to have our waiter stop by the table. Once that was accomplished though the rest of the meal went smoothly. I would not hesitate to return, the food was worth the extra effort needed. Overall an excellent time.
The food at Tryst is always made with high quality ingredients. I am consistently pleased with the quality, creativity, and selection of the meals. The bar atmosphere is fun too. We'll be back.
Birthday dinner was fantastic there; food, atmosphere and service were top notch. Would highly recommend.
We particularly enjoy taking friends to Tryst to dine with us. The bar area is very cozy and the food never fails to please everyone’s palate. My husband and I also like to frequent the bar to sample the appetizers. We’ll be back!
We decided to take a chance on a new spot and were rewarded. As soon as we walked in, the host made us feel welcome and made sure we got a comfortable table. Our server, James, was fantastic. He was the ultimate professional yet knew how to interact and make us laugh. He was also great at making suggestions. The cocktails were perfect and our meals were superb. We will certainly be going back as soon as we can.
We never tire of Tryst and come here often. We’ve never had a bad meal or bad drink at Tryst.
Having been there several times, we suggested it to our small group (of 4). Not one of us thought their meal was good. So disappointing! Server was really out of it, seemingly too tired to make it to our table, really off-putting. But the food- we all left significant portions on our plates. Bummer.
Great long (2.5 hours) dinner. Amazing food that was creative and filling, delicious drinks (double pear!), and quiet spot.
Wonderful food! A lobster slider that is actually a gourmet lobster roll with fresh, large chunk lobster in a fabulous, homemade brioche bun. The gourmet table bread comes from the wonderful bakery, Iggy's Breads of the World.
Love this restaurant and the staff. Always willing to make our experience perfect!
Tryst is a nice comfortable place to grab dinner with friends or on a date. Loved the atmospherez. The food was great, service very good and drinks good too.
Kale and brussels sprout salad is so delicious every time! Highly recommend it. And the salmon dish is so tasty too. We go there fairly regularly and it is consistently delicious! Parking is never a problem either.
While I prefer a hi top in the front/bar area, I'm warming up to the back section. Food and service remain very solid. A steady go to choice for Arlington.
Wait staff-superb. Food was delicious. Hostess seated us in a quiet spot. Lovely evening
We had a very nice time at Tryst. The service was great and our meals were delicious. They have a gluten free menu with a variety of options which I appreciated. My salmon was prepared perfectly and as ordered. Tryst offered a number of desserts, all made onsite.
I highly recommend Tryst.
Great brunch and kid friendly which was great!
The food was amazing! Each small plate better than the next. Our server was also wonderful. Thank you Tryst for a great evening!
I have never been to Tryst before but went for a Sunday brunch and was very pleased with the menu. My salmon was delicious and made to order. My date's omelet was also quite nice. He got his potatoes extra crispy. We felt comfortable and cared for - thanks!!
Great food. Energetic on Saturday night -- louder than it has been on previous occasions. Food was great; desserts were just ok.
Very good food and super convenient too. Met up with a friend for dinner and drinks before an event across the street. Bar staff was nice and professional. Truffle fries are outstanding.
Trust is our favorite Arlington restaurant
Love this restaurant in the neighborhood. Food great but not pretentious. Bar great. Service wonderful. Just generally a very nice place to dine and converse.
Something happened to our dinner ticket so it took 90 minutes to get our Entree.
Food was ver good, and Manager was nice enough to comp our entrees.
I would go back again, as the tables next to us that arrived after us got their meals pretty quickly.
If the waiter was on point, he would have been able to see our issue sooner and adjust.
Amazing creative dishes, fantastic cocktails and wine list, truly remarkable service.
We walked in for brunch. We waited at the door to be seated. A server, who ended up being ours, came up to the host stand bit didn’t even acknowledge our presence and then walked away.
The hostess came up and then sat us.
It was fairly busy, but it took a very long time between my first and second beverage, as our server didn’t return. When I asked someone else for a drink, she stated she couldn’t even touch it because she was 17.
Then the hostess went to find our server for drinks, as if she, herself couldn’t get it.
Our server was entering an order into the computer, so it took a bit longer.
I got an omelet with asparagus and mozzarella, and there were 2 thin pieces of asparagus and the whole omelet was like warm because the mozzarella was ice cold.
It just wasn’t a great experience for my first time there.
It was an excellent. Good choices & delicious food.
I have been to this restaurant several times and find it good for special occasions like birthdays or just to catch up with friend. Today, I met a friend for brunch and we had the mushroom omelet and the eggs Benedict. Both were served with hash browns and everything was delicious.
Excellent all around: food, atmosphere and staff. Excellent wine list. Very easy going. Doesn’t gel you’re at the trendy cool place everyone thinks it means great food. Tryst is both relaxing, great food and service
Becoming our new neighborhood favorite. Excellent menu, great service, and food is well presented
I've had better. The creme brulee french toast was huge, but soggy and cloyingly sweet. A smaller portion with more attention to detail would have gone a long way. My friend's omelet was perfectly proportioned and well prepared. I think I'll stick to dinner and skip the brunch. I've had delightful dinners at Tryst.
Let me begin by saying I have never had a bad meal or experience at Tryst and I have been there often. However, this past New Year's Eve was a service and timing disaster.
Again the food was beyond fantastic, so this review is not at all about that but the service was simply terrible and caused us to be late for an activity that began at 10PM in Stoneham.
Our reservation was for 4 guests (we took two friends who live in Arlington and had yet to have the opportunity to try Tryst. The reservation was for 7:30PM, that we thought would be perfect as we had to leave at 9:30 for that activity in Stoneham. We were seated on time at a lovely table. Then it went downhill from there.
It took 17 minutes for the waiter to come and take our drink order.
We waited close to 10 minutes for the drinks (it is now 8PM)
We ordered entire meal (it was a lovely pre-fixe menu) at 8:15 and the first course didnt arrive until 8:40.
The main course came at 9:05 and we informed our waiter that we were very concerned about the time as we had to leave at 9:30. Prior to that we had not told him, as two hours should be plenty of time for a three course pre-fixe dinner. He looked worried.
The dessert came at 9:25 and we wolfed it down, paid the bill and left the restaurant at 9:40.
It was not at all the way I wanted to spend New Year's Eve or introduce our friends to your restaurant. The bill came to almost $300 and we all felt so cheated because of the service, but honestly I couldnt complain that night, as we would have completely missed our show. As it was, we embarrassingly arrived 10 minutes after it had started.
Honestly not sure if we will return anytime soon. Such a shame because we love your food.
I dined with a friend who's been quite a few times and likes it a lot. She was very pleased with her meal (kale and brussell sprout salad). I had the tagliatelle bolognese and it was mediocre. We went early to the restaurant, so maybe the time impacted the atmosphere or lack of it. I would try it again because the location is good, but I wasn't blown away by anything. I also thought their wines were all a bit expensive.
Very slow service for how few people were there but the food was good.
Good food. Great portions size enough so your stuffed and you still have leftovers. Bloody Mary was delicious
Great location, nice atmosphere- cozy and warm. Food was good and the service prompt and friendly.
Not quite as good as I remembered it being when last there three years ago.
The ambience is lacking - the place was practically empty though admittedly it was a Monday night - two big TV's above the bar are distracting, creating a sort of 'sports bar vibe' where the restaurant used to have a higher end kind of vibe.
Completely fantastic. Unique and delicious menu choices that aren't too weird like so many other places we skipped in choosing a restaurant that night. Service was first rate. Prices completely reasonable. Look forward to going back.
Always a great meal and great service at Tryst. Must have the mushroom tagliatelle!
Delicious, comforting, and inventing food. We sat in the back, which was pleasantly quiet due to fabric or upholstery or something. The cocktails were fun and seasonally-inspired. The "hot dates," blue-cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped dates, were SO good. Great burgers too.
