Truly a hidden gem.
We had a pleasant return and evening having been away from this nice restaurant for too long due to Covid. Our server was spectacular and management shows their concern for patrons with proper protocols during this pandemic.
An excellent variety of choices on the menu, all were tempting. We enjoyed our choices very much. Our server was efficient and most attentive to our meal.
Good food. A bit expensive. Easy parking. Loved it
I had the bourbon tips and tater tots. The steak and tots were perfectly cooked and delicious.
Others had the chicken saltimbocxa and bolognese and they were also delicious.
No complaints whatsoever. We love sitting at the bar. Always a friendly bartender! Food yummy.
We had made reservations for 7 p.m. but had to wait about a half hour for our table. However, the people there went out of their way to make sure they made up for the wait, including giving us appetizers on the house. The server was extremely attentive and the food was wonderful. Will go back for sure.
The food was outstanding, so they got that right. The service was not very attentive but I know a lot of restaurants are having a tough time with staff, so I don’t see that as a deal breaker. Highly recommend, for the price point, excellent taste and presentation of the entrees. Desserts were also delicious.
Love this local establishment. Just need to be prepared for slow service. New wait staff that is still learning and getting ramped up.
Staff was wonderfully helpful in customizing drink and food orders. The only area where there could have been some improvement is in sharing items. We said we were going to share a salad, we were not given an additional plate or any tools to split the item. Same for dessert.
We have been regulars at Tryst for 10 years and our first time back after Covid. We were disappointed that there is no longer bread offered at the table and that they change the Kale Salad to a caesar dressing. We did enjoy our server - Zaara and our dinners. Music was. bit loud but we asked the hostess to turn it down a bit and she kindly responded. We will definitely come back but hope that bread will be an offering once again and that the revisit dressing on the Kale Salad to its original.
It's hard to rate the overall ambience since we were dining outside. But the outdoor seating was ample and comfortable.
Terrific food and friendly staff! We got the shrimp tacos and the salmon.
Nice neighborhood atmosphere and diverse menu. Would recommend
Food delicious and reasonably priced. Drinks were over priced.
Great service, great food, great value! We will return!
Food and service were great! Only downside is outdoor seating next to busy Mass Ave
We had five in our party. All the staff were very attentive. The food was delicious, I had the chicken with the Roman gnocchi. It was amazing, especially the Roman gnocchi!
Different from the the usual gnocchi with individual bits. Not sure how best to describe Tryst’s Roman gnocchi but it’s a story of noodle and potato mashup. Delightful. And the chicken danced with the gnocchi!
[we ate outdoors]
Seated promptly, the food was good, service was attentive. On;y oddity was that my wife spilled her nearly full drink, and I asked the waitress "could you see if the bartender might take pity on us, and replace her drink." She said, "of course," and returned several minutes later with another drink. We were charged for it. That;s fair I suppose, but she should have come back and told us "Sorry, I can’t give you a free replacement; do you still want another?" As is, it left us with a bit of disappointment at the end of an otherwise nice meal.
My spouse and I had dinner at Tryst, a favorite of ours recently. We enjoyed the fish tacos and calamari. They had a new dish with roman style gnocchi, which was not what we expected and a bit disappointing in contrast to the traditional gnocchi we are use to enjoying.
I liked Tryst, they make excellent cocktails. I thought they needed a bit more on the menu, more variety.
It was very warm in the dining room. Coming in from 85+ degrees at 8 PM and not hardly cooling off was not ideal.
Service was spectacular
LOVE that I could bring my dog for outdoor seating!
Loved everything we had !!
This was our first time at Tryst and we'll definitely be back. Food was excellent and the servers were wonderful. The only negative was that we were sitting on Mass Ave. I appreciate that all restaurants are making an effort to create outdoor seating during COVID but had I known, we probably wouldn't have made the reservation. Nonetheless, glad I didn't know because it is definitely a wonderful find.
Food was great! Service was great! Makes us nostalgic for our favorite restaurant on Upper West Side ! Very happy to have this wonderful comfortable neighborhood restaurant with terrific food!
Excellent service and yummy food
Fun date night or special occasion restaurant, upscale but comfortable enough to bring kids. Great cocktails, delicious food but fairly limited menu.
Such a great waitstaff! Will go back again. The burger was phenominal!!
Nice place to meet for quick drink and meal before attending Barry Goudreau concert at nearby Regent Theater.
Friendly staff and great food. We were able to sit outside because of covid, which I really appreciated.
The outdoor seating, behind barricades on Mass Avenue can be (and was) interrupted by muscle car engines growling as they went by.
Nothing the restaurant can do about it, just the perils of curbside dining during Covid. They do have inside dining as well which is quite pleasant.
The draft beers were not available and the tap was not working. When I asked for a malbec wine, I was told that they had run out of that wine. For desserts, there was ice cream but the chocolate mousse had been sold on the previous evening. Our choices in several areas were limited. The entrees we selected were quite good.
So nice to be back! Its been awhile since we went to Tryst and we were NOT disappointed. COVID cautions were still in place - tables were adequately far apart - and food was wonderful as were cocktails. Definitely will return again soon. Only disappointed with how loud it was - or did I get older during the pandemic?!
Great spot and all love and support for restaurants trying to bounce back, but they're not quite back to pre-pandemic quality yet. The menu is more limited than the posted menu and they were out of several things. Will definitely go back anyway, but hope they iron out the kinks.
Excellent food and service!
Everything about Tryst was wonderful. The salmon was the best I've ever had, and the fish tacos were delicious. There was a problem with the beer tap, but the list of cans/bottles have great choices. I'll be back!
The hosts and waitstaff were excellent. The wine suggestion was perfect.
Great service and the food was excellent. Glad to have them accommodate my vegan daughter as well.
