Truluck's Seafood, Steak and Crab - Naples Ratings and Reviews
We had a party of five and celebrating a retirement. The table was in a room with a much larger party. They were very loud and we had a difficult time conversing but it was tolerable and we didn’t say anything to the staff.
That being said, the service and food were impeccable. Our entrees included sea bass, salmon, filet, scallops and stuffed petite lobster tail which were ALL delicious. The wait staff was on top of everything but not too overbearing or stuffy. The manager came around and introduced himself which was a nice touch.
We topped off the meal with the chocolate bag and carrot cake both outstanding!
I would recommend Truluck’s for a special occasion.
We waited close to half an hour to be seated for our reservation. Our server was very nice and the food was delicious, but it took almost two hours to have our meal. Sadly, the table that was almost on top of ours had three drunk and crude couples...a shame to have to listen to them during our meal. Not sure what you could do about it other than spread the tables apart enough that our chairs were not shoved every time the other group moved around and we didn’t have to listen to their rude language.
Food was great including the appetizers ( calamari and tuna tartar were spectacular). Red Snapper special is highly recommended as were all the fish dishes. Filets were perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The only weak entree was the ribeye which was cooked perfectly but tough. Deserts were wonderful including the sampler platter and the baked Alaska was good but great to watch.
This restaurant came highly recommended. I would not give it a "highly recommended"
It was nice, and the food was good. Unfortunately, my wife and I struck out on our dinners. I ordered scallops, out of stock! She ordered jumbo stone crab claws, out of stock! They only had mediums. It was a late reservation? We both had a recommended grouper special which was tasty but very rich, especially for late night dining.
Beautiful place and great wait staff. My husband was very dissatisfied with his steak “tasteless and super fatty”. We ordered the huge crab leg for $69. It was tasteless as well. My whole snapper was delish. All said and done $300. I’ll be back to try apps at Happy Hour but don’t think dinner will happen again.
This was the 2nd time we have dined there. First time excellent, 2nd time not so good.
Had to send back my escargot. One person in our party didn't get the oysters he ordered
and our service was not good. The server ended up charging us for the returned escargot
and then also charged us for the replacement salad. Then disappeared. Someone else
had to straighten out our check. I would go again, but would request not to have this
server again. Food was good.
The food is delicious (stone crabs!) but the service is beyond anything I have ever experienced. A silver platter is brought to the table showing the day's fresh crab offerings. When the manager saw me rise from my seat, he offered to personally escorted me to the restroom. I received a phone call the following day making sure we enjoyed our experience at Truluck's.
Went there for date night. Wanted to do something different and exquisite, service and food was amazing, Courtney was our waiter and he did a spectacular job, presentation and service from him were out of this world. Highly recommend going if you have not because you are hesitant to try it.
The nicest, classiest restaurant in Naples.
Been coming to Truluck’s for years and it never disappoints. The service from the hostess to the person serving you water – all the staff is great: efficient and friendly but not fake and the food wonderful – if you only have time for one ‘fancy’ dinner in Naples – make it Truluck’s!
Started with Ginger Sidecar’s – a different twist to a classic that was pretty good: would order again. They have a great bar (which is normally packed during the early, weekday, Happy Hour)!
Then to the Sonoma Green Salad that was fresh and refreshing – very good! The Shrimp cocktail is wonderful; the sauce is not over-powered by horseradish like at many places. Hmmmm.
Split an order of Florida Stone Crabs and Scallops – they do not skimp on the Scallops! Both were delicious and prepared very nicely. The mashed potatoes served with the scallops were excellent! They always do seafood well here. The wine list is good – paired these with a Hugel from Alsace – perfect!!
Finished with the Baked Alaska that was excellent with a good amount of meringue and a nice cake, that is not soggy, underneath. Hard to find these days – a classic at a classic!
Overall - favorite place in old Naples. There are other Truluck’s but this one is the best by far. Gina the server was great as they all are. Some say it’s expensive – drinks, a bottle of wine, 2 full dinners - $200. Not cheap but not that bad – Enjoy yourself you’ve earned it!
