Truluck's Seafood, Steak and Crab - Naples Ratings and Reviews
Six of of us went for my wive's birthday. They treated us like honored guests....and...the food was excellent. From the appetizers to the main course everything was first rate. A special mention goes to the crab mac and cheese. What a treat. And then the coup de grace. A nice complementary birthday cake that was enough for all six of us. A special night made better by the excellent service and food we received.
Overall great meal and service! The seafood platter for 2 appetizer had a great presentation and everything was very fresh. The grouper and swordfish were top notch and you can’t beat table side French pressed coffee to go with the dessert. Top that with a super friendly server and you have a great dining experience. Well done!
Chose this restaurant based on reviews, we were looking for seafood and close to our hotel. It was awesome and we were glad we went. Everyone was so nice and professional, especially our server and even the busboys- polite young men. The food was great, had stone crabs and tuna. Wife had crab cakes, we shared a wedge salad which was no problem for them. Drinks were perfect. Old fashioned and margaritas. Expensive but worth it, will be back.
We had to wait 20 mins. for our reserved table. We had to wait 20 mins. to order and receive a drink. Our table was in the middle of the restaurant and so jammed against the table next to us that it was very uncomfortable. There were people walking/rushing past us all evening. The noise level was terribly loud. We had no appetizers and no dessert and our bill was $580 for four people. I felt violated when I left.
Truly amazing. Meal was fantastic from drinks to dessert. Great ambiance. Our server was incredible. Very knowledgeable of the menu, specials and great with conversation. (Wish I could remember his name-Jamaican gentlemen).
As a fellow restaurateur I really appreciated my meal. Thank you.
Staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Food was prepared to perfection. Seasoning was just right, not overdone. We had dined at a purportedly outstanding steakhouse two nights prior to Truluck's. We had the Porterhouse for two and were both extremely disappointed with the preparation. My husband, once again, ordered a steak (NY Strip) and said it was cooked precisely as he had requested and extremely tasty. I had the scallops and was not expecting such a large portion. I was not disappointed in the least. Will definitely return when we are in Naples again!
There are many find restaurants in Naples but for my wife’s birthday we chose Tru Luce and were not disappointed. The food, service and ambulance were perfect. They are extremely attentive to your needs without being intrusive. Hope to spend many more special events there.
Came to Naples for a birthday weekend with friends. Truluck's was the choice of the birthday girl, she has raved about it for 9 months, so we planned a foodie trip. On her first experience she had amazing service, not so for our visit this past weekend. I did receive a call from your restaurant, and I was asked "how was dinner?" and I said "great"! They never asked about the service, unfortunately. I was in the restaurant business for many years myself, and service can make or break the experience. Our server took 20 to 25 minutes to bring our first beverage, and then it went downhill after that. Part of the presentation she gave was that she would bring warm towels to the table after the crab claws, but it didn't happen. She wasn't busy, her station was half full, but she spent a lot of time talking with her other tables while we were waiting....and waiting.....and more waiting. She even mentioned that she had a helper, never saw her either. Hope to visit again someday, as the food was delicious! Love the music, and the piano player, there was so much great energy in Truluck's! I which the experience had been better!
There seemed to be a mis-communication between the reception desk and the server. We were celebrating our birthdays and the server was not aware. It was handled well by the server by comping us a piece of cake after we paid our bill, which was very nice.
There was also a misunderstanding about our desire (mentioned before and during our visit) for a quiet table on the terrace or in a booth. They seated us in a booth two booths away from the kitchen door and ALL of the wait staff and bussers coming and going. It wasn't very peaceful.
Wife ordered fillet which was returned to kitchen for correct prep. The replacement came to table quickly and correctly prepared. My sea bass was avarage. The wait staff was good. A complimentary dessert was given to us for our anniversary. Prices were high and value low.
The happy hour was reasonably priced. A good value.
We arrived late but they were very gracious about seating us. Take note, this restaurant is hard to find, kind of tucked in. Use their complimentary valet service. Service is excellent, very extensive menu. Stone crab superb. Skip the Oysters Rockefeller, mostly spinach. Had the chef’s filet topped with crab, holandaise sauce and shrimp. Impressive and prepared perfectly. Top shelf kind of place. Desserts are very large. They have a wonderful lounge with a singer piano player. Make a night of it!!
Food was highly average. Started with crab claws which were tasteless and devoid of meat. They charge 12 for Large size and 6.50 for medium size. Our group ordered both sizes but no one could tell the difference. Can you spell RIP OFF?
Fish was over cooked... how does a restaurant with seafood in its name over cook fish?
Regardless, it’s a great atmosphere and waiter was super attentive.
