The food was amazing, the ambiance was great. Next to Mastro's, this is a close tie for the best crab cakes!
Thanks for a great Birthday Dinner. Selection of seafood and quality was excellent.
Some unique dishes with bold, delicious flavors. The wait staff is professional and very helpful. A good choice for a special occasion.
Everything was AMAZING!!! Best overall dinner out to eat I've ever had. Matt was our server and was the best and most attentive server I have ever had. He definitely made our experience great. All of his recommendations were SPOT ON!!! Oh...and if you leave without trying the Carrot Cake, you don't know what you are missing out on. Everything we had was basically the best we have every had of what we ordered. We will be back!
Thank you. Great Steaks NY Strip WOW. Great tuna tartare and wedge salat as a starter. Good wine list and prices. Recomendation.
We were in La Jolla for a medical conference. We ate here last year while we were at the same conference, and knew we had to make it a priority to go again!! Even better this year. The hot fresh rolls are to die for!!
Our experience at Truluck's was great. The food was among the best we've had, and the overall experience makes a return trip inevitable the next time we come to San Diego. From the live music, to Matt (our server), to the unbelievably good seabass, everything was simply delightful.
Everything was excellent. Our group was very impressed with everything from the service to the dinners.
Absolutely amazing! The food and service was superb!
Great and timely service, delicious food.
Consistently good food and service. Great atmosphere as well, with live piano music.
We had two appetizers the heirloom tomato salad, and calamari, and we split an entree the sea bass with some extra scallops and for desert we had the chocolate mountain. It was all great, service was impeccable. Can’t wait to go back
Promotion for work.
It took 90 minutes from time we sat down to get our entree. Not the kind of experience we expect from this restaurant. Usually, we expect and receive outstanding service from wait staff. Not until manager, Sean, came over asking about service, did things happen. He graciously took a few items off the bill, which we appreciated. However, our group would have been fine paying but not waiting so long to be served dinner
Amazing time with amazing food
Excellent place for dinner
Top notch in every category. Had oysters with frozen champagne mignonette, crabmeat cocktail, sea bass in miso glaze, barrmundi, Newton chardonnay, creme brulee, all divine. Service perfect. 2 small things...leave out the lettuce in the crab cocktail, and parking should be free, not $9.
The portions were way too small for the price paid. Brussels sprout side was not brought out until after we were done eating the entrees. They should have been comped.
Great food and fantastic service. I recommend the Seafood Coronation was great a sample of everything from stone crab , shrimp to South African lobster tails. Our party said the crab cakes were great and the steaks were perfectly looked and very tender. The service was 5 star and very attentive. For fun order the baked Alaska and sit back and enjoy the show.
All in all a great night and experience while expensive very well worth it.
Excellent service and delicious food and drinks! I would definitely recommend this place.
The food is delicious! The service, at least on this Fri. evening was very rushed ...first in getting us to order and then the entrees arrived while we were barely finished with our salads. We have eaten here before and I don't remember the rushed service being so blatant . I would recommend this restaurant . Next tie we go, i will tell them to "slow it down a bit" before when we place our order.
Food is always top quality and service is impeccable. Very enjoyable experience.
Good food and good service, the atmosphere is a bit dark and old English feeling
Dessert and lobster bisque was really good
Really great restaurant. Food is excellent. Service is top rate. Ambiance, perfect. Not cheap!!
No one particularly hungry. (3), so we ate around dinner. One glass of wine ordered for one.
Crab legs for the table and some sides. $80 per person. But fantastic and worth it!
The food was excellent, as always. We sat in the front, so the noise level was a bit too high for me. That's not something I will do again. It was hard to hear conversation, and our waiter had to speak up as well. However, you have a consistently outstanding product, so I will definitely try to remember to request a booth in the back next time!
Sam was the best server we’ve ever had!
Give Sam a raise!
Great service, exceptional menu, nice variety of wines to choose from.
Ya he ido varias veces y esta ocasion la calidad de la omida fue muy distinta
Dinner was amazing. Great dining experience and we look forward to returning soon.
My wife and I celebrated her birthday on All-You-Can-Eat stone crab night and were blown away by the food, our waiter Chick, and the special dessert-baked alaska-they prepared for my wife's birthday. A truly wonderful experience and we wholeheartedly recommend Truluck's.
Wonderful attentive service and excellent food.
Every time I dine at Truluck’s, the food is always delicious and the service is absolutely top notch. I have never been remotely disappointed there and I will continue to recommend it to my friends. Always a great dining experience.
I’m very picky about seafood. But the crab here is the best I’ve ever had in US!
Very expensive and not worth it for food that was served. I think it is probably OK for a one time visit or if you're well off. The salmon I had was fine but it came with small spindly asparagus. The price should have included a side such as soup or salad. I must say the bread was tasty. Would not go back again however.
Amazing establishment. My family and I should have dined at Truluck’s much sooner. Food was great staff was great environment was great. I cannot wait to return.
Definitely, pricey, but overall quite worth it. We had stone crab claws, cioppino, miso-glased sea bass, and a terrific chocolate gelato/frangelico/almond dessert. As people who have tried to reduce their salt intake, and become accustomed to less salt, some of the dishes tasted over-salty to us.
The night we were there, there was only one waiter who took orders, and the restaurant was quite busy, so the service was on the slow side. Very slow, in fact.
The food was great, delicious just like last time I was there,
A great classy place with excellent seafood and service
I'm sorry, but I've dined at very nice steak and seafood establishments in San Diego, and for my first experience at trulucks it wasnt good at all except for the food. I went on a Friday night, and it wasnt crowded at all. Host tried to sit us by the kitchen pathway area which I was really annoyed at that, then tried to give us a table that wasnt a booth which I requested. Now to the food! The salad was sent back, very soggy. The steak and hashbrowns were very tastey. Ambiance wasnt what I expected, not the layout. Too many tables in the happy hour bar area. No walking room. I hope this review was helpful. I wont go back.
