Truluck's Seafood, Steak and Crab House - Ft. Lauderdale Ratings and Reviews
Sorry but below expectations ! My meal was ok but average for the money we spent there. Everything was way too salty. The place looks a bit old and tacky!!!! On the other end, our waiter was very good, excellent service. Finally 10$ for valet parking is a bit exaggerated.
Happy hour: after we got it understood that a cosmopolitan does not have slushy ice in it, it was uphill from there. Probably should not have charged me for that drink. It would have left a better thought of the bar experience. Excellent entertainment. Piano with vocals. Very nice. We were celebrating our anniversary and we were treated to rose petals on our table and baked Alaska for dessert. Our waiter, Spencer, could not have been better. Great recommendations from him and dining at a comfortable pace. I would definitely go back.
Great meal, there was a little confusion on our part as to the total number attending. We had a reservation for 8, but when we arrived we realized there may be a 9th. They easily moved us to a table for 10 that was reserved for a later party. When our 9th conformed he would not attend we let them know and asked to move to the table for 8 so as to not cause issues with the table for 10. They handled the hold issue with grace.
We arrived at Truluck's on time and had requested a "cozy corner". We did receive a beautiful corner booth that was very cozy.
This had been our first experience here, and so far so good.
The server was attentive, but not overly...just perfect.
Wine was delicious.....
I had the escargot for an appetizer....lemony, garlicky, divine.
My husband had the blue cheese wedge- awesome smoky bacon, big in size...but could have had a tad more dressing.
We both ordered Steak for dinner......
My husband the blue cheese special and myself the ribeye with a side of Bernaise(I think) sauce on the side.
Although the steaks had amazing flavor, they were disappointing as they were TOUGH. Much to our surprise......we informed our waiter and his response was "oh sorry." He should have known we weren't that happy as we both took home 3/4 of the order.
Other than that, the experience was lovely and we will certainly give them another try.
We just felt that for the price, it should have been like butter.
DEFINATELY worth giving them a shot.
We went for my mother's birthday and they treated her very special. Several managers came by during our meal to thank us for coming and to make sure we were happy. The table had confetti on it and they provided a birthday baked Alaska to my mother free of charge. It was a lovely evening.
Our Waiter, Kristopher, was amazing. We are very picky in good customer service when paying tips and he deserved his tip for sure. Very accommodating and took the time with us...never felt rushed. Food was awesome! The LIVE music from the Pianist was great but perhaps a little too loud in the dining area.
Although the service and ambience was outstanding the lukewarm bisque which had to be sent back to be reheated the incredibly salty scallops and strange citrusy sauced escargot made the food experience not so desirable. I have to say the waitstaff was extremely accommodating and even took the scallops off the Check. They also provided a complimentary dessert. That was outstanding. Quite possibly the best carrot cake ever. But unfortunately the rest of the meal made left a bit to be desired. Was a nice evening but would not return. Was just not worth the price
My husband and I love the Trulucks restaurant in Naples so we were excited to see one here. We flew in to Ft. Lauderdale a little late and we were so glad we made it before the kitchen closed. Everyone was extremely nice and the food was of course incredible. We had the crab claws which were to die for and the grouper which had an unbelievable taste.
We went to Trulucks on Friday evening with a friend to get our first stone crab of the 2017 season. We were not disappointed with the stone crab or the mustard sauce. However, strangely enough we tried a new side - a sort of baked potato sliced - and it was not cooked all of the way through. It was too hard to even add butter to give it some taste? The asparagus were great as they always are. We shared a lovely Chianti that was not too expensive and the Trio dessert was okay. We missed our usual waiter - Luis, as he was off that evening, but our assigned waiter, Mark was very nice and attentive. None of us really care for the Parmesan potato and my wife is allergic to the cheese, therefore we tried this new baked potato side dish. The kitchen has some real work to do on that!
Our party had a large table in a more quiet section of the restaurant - they took the time to find out why we were dining and thought it best that for a business meal we have some space to ourselves. The restaurant called to confirm beforehand and followed up the day after to make sure we had a positive experience. Food was fantastic and service was very attentive and helpful, especially considering we had 12 people to attend to. The only thing I’d note that could’ve made the experience better, is that we took several cars and some of us ended up parking at the mall while others valet parked- it would be especially nice if the restaurant had its own free valet / validated its valet.
Exceptional quality and impeccable service. Fabulous evening and my client said it was one of the best meals he has ever had in S. Florida. You won't be disappointed in selecting TruLucks. Cost is a bit high, but you can justify it based on quality of food and service.
We find the food, service and ambience to be always consistent: Excellent. The King Crab Legs and the Stone Crab are always outstanding. The Lobster Bisque is one of the best anywhere. Even something as simple as a Wedge Salad is done to perfection. The wait staff and the manager are always close at hand to insure a first class dining experience. Truluck's is one of the few, if not the only restaurant that I have been to, that follows up with a phone call the next day to make sure you were satisfied with your dining experience.
Starting with the Valets, the front desk Hostess, the Manager, ( who stopped by our table to say ''Hi''), the food, the service, the exit facilitators were all excellent. The only individual that did not represent this glorious place was the Maitre"D .. who was not friendly and did not make us feel comfortable.
