Truluck's Seafood, Steak and Crab House - Dallas Uptown Ratings and Reviews
I booked our dinner here for my husband's birthday. Overall it was a nice experience. A little "fancier" than my normal taste, but it was a treat. They DID put silver glitter on the table for my husband's birthday, that was cool. Steak was a little tough, but the rest of the meal was good. It is on the pricier side ( cost us $160 for 2 ) , but like I said, it was a nice treat.
We did eat upstairs, as opposed to being in the bar area. The vibe was different in both places. Overall, it was a nice dinner.
Upon arrival, we were addressed and sat quickly. All hostess even told my husband happy birthday. The server was very attentive. Presented us with the specials and gave us detailed explanations on speciality items. The restaurant gave us complimentary dessert for my husband’s birthday.
This was my first visit to Truluck's and it did not disappoint. One of my top 3 meals I've ever had. We ordered crabcakes and cesar salad for appetizers, then I ordered the amazingly succulent Filet Oscar topped with lump crab and caviar and Bernaise sauce, asparagus, mashed potatoes- so delicious! Even the bread basket was yummy! The desserts looked amazing, but we were so full, we didn't have room- maybe next time!
At our dinner for 4 our server failed to bring the vegetable sides when the entrees arrived. No one followed up with our table to inquire about our meal, we finally stopped another server and requested the sides. The creamed spinach and creamed corn still were not delivered, our server arrived near the end of our meal to finally check on us. I pointed out that we had never received our sides and he said he would check on them. Appx 10 minutes later he returned with the side, and as we were all finished with dinner I told him we no longer needed them. We asked him to pack out leftovers, and without any apology for the delay nor an offer of removing the untouched sides from the check, he packed our leftovers and the sides to go. Most establishments of this caliber would have removed the charge and/offered dessert for the inconvenience. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful.
This is an excellent restaurant. My wife and I went there to celebrate an anniversary. We were greeted immediately after entering. Our table was on the second floor, where it is quieter than the first floor where the bar and music are located. Since they knew that we were there to celebrate an anniversary, they put rose pedals on our table. Our waiter was very good and always checked on us. The wine was very good and reasonable. Our food was very delicious and was brought out in a very timely manner. The even treated us to dessert since it was our anniversary. We will definitely be back.
Trulucks is the absolute best. The restaurant is beautiful and modern. It provides a much more pleasant and update ambience than the previous one. I was a bit sad when the old restaurant was torn down, but this one is to die for. The food was exquisite. Ryan, our server gave the epitome of service.
We sat at the table for over 30 minutes before our order was taken, 50 minutes after that we learned that one of the dishes we ordered was no longer available and then finally 20 minutes after that our food was delivered warm but not hot. The dining experience was extremely slow and frustrating
